Ordered from here the other day, and I could not ask for anymore. I ordered online plenty of party trays and bakery items. Online ordering for Publix is always easy. I got a confirmation email, but still called to confirm because the other Publix was not quite ready for me last year. The person who answered, confirmed everything and even walked over to bakery to make sure they were set. When I arrived, everything was prepared and nicely done. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the space was not that busy. The trays look exceptional and everything was packaged well. I think the prices incredibly fair for what you get. All of the guests at my event felt as though it was really quality food, and everyone left happy . read more

The manager of this store (Weaver Boulevard, Weaverville, NC) obviously knows what he is doing and runs a first class operation. I've seen a few employees come in with an attitude and they don't last long, nearly everyone is friendly and helpful. Other local businesses could learn a lot from Publix. read more

I really have missed shopping at Publix when we lived in Florida. They always have some great buy one free offers. While out near Asheville after one of my Dr. Visits I wanted to go to the closest store which ended up being this store. Never been here before. The first stop was the Deli, I love boar's head brand of meat and cheese. They had a special for ham & swiss. You got 1/2 lb honey ham and half lb of swiss cheese for $9.99. Great deal. The lady behind the counter was so nice, slicing the meat and cheese the exact way I wanted it. They were out of the boar's head jack onion cheese. That stuff is amazing. I did however find a small chunk of it where all the cheese was. Its amazing! Over all didn't need anything else really since we went to Sam's before here. I just wanted everyone to know the deli is great, they listen to you how you want things sliced. Some places don't. Even though from our house to here is pretty far id still go back Over all Id definitely shop here again. read more

These reviews are hilarious. Who checks grocery store reviews before going grocery shopping? No one. That's who. Anywho- I have a few minutes to spare while I'm waiting for my partner to finish shopping so here I am. The employees are usually all extremely friendly- it's nice. A couple of reviews said they are overly friendly but I think that's garbage- those people just aren't accustomed to being treated well. The organized displays that switch up every so often are brilliant. The selection is tops. I prefer it over it's neigbor ingles any day of the week. read more

I am from Florida, so I was already familiar with Publix and the quality of their name brand food. What I was NOT prepared to see was the AMAZING customer service that the Publix in Weaverville provides to all customers. Absolutely incredible. I have transferred all my prescriptions to their pharmacy and I have been very happy! My family now does ALL of our shopping here. We only go to other stores for things Publix does not carry and that is very little. The BOGO and sales items are always things that we use! Just shows what great management can do! I understand the other Publix supermarkets in the area are not as good as this one and the customer service is nothing special. That is too bad! They should send their people for training to Weaverville! Oh, I forgot to mention. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Publix has been absolutely on target with compliance to try to keep us all safe! Still a place I sometimes go to it's just too convenient. People that work there are still friendly also. The thing that really bothers me is that they sell vegetables( peppers and potatoes) that are singly wrapped in plastic foil. This is driving me insane! How can this be good for the environment? Why is this getting ordered? I told customer service several times and today I spoke to a guy in the fruit and vegetable section. The person told me that the plastic is getting recycled , even if so, goos is not the point. In the age of crazy amounts of plastic in the ocean this should not be happen. I discussed it for a while with the employee and at the end he told me that he doesn't care because he " just works here". Ok I just shop here and it bugs me a lot! read more

Horrible miserable experience picking up groceries through their online service. Slooooow website took over an hour to shop. Messaged me they didn't have shoppers on hand to complete my order, and when I finally arrived to pick up my order they'd given it to someone else. Instacart is an unreliable source for grocery delivery. They called me at 5:50 pm to tell me an order that was set to be delivered at 4-5pm was not something they would have time to process. I'm sure Publix is great, but instacart is a waste of effort if you need reliable service. read more

I am a Florida girl that moves to TN and I love Publix and was so disappointed that we didn't have a Publix near us in TN, but was very happy to know that I can go to NC to get my fill. It's only a 30 minute drive to Weaverville, NC and this is an awesome store with great customer service, friendly staff and very clean and organized. Is it bad, that I'm SO excited about going to the grocery store? #momlife Y'all, this place!!! They are SO clean, have amazing digital coupons, which you can pick at home from your phone and use with just your number at check out... great, AFFORDABLE, organic options... Fresh sushi bar ($5 rolls!)... fresh meat and fish options (lobster in a tank for the boys to look at!!)... and I can't even begin about their customer service, when I'm there with my 2 boys, they never let me walk out alone- they insist on loading my car for me while I load the boys... and they thoroughly enjoy doing it. I love friendly service... but some of these folks take it a little to far. I had 2 bags, 2 small bags and the guy wouldn't let me carry my 2 bags to my car! He snatched them up and when I told him I could handle it. He snapped back "no. This is my job!!" LOL. Really... It smells like fish when you walk in the door, which I really don't enjoy. It's pricy... much higher than neighboring stores but it's a small store and easier to find what you are looking for. The bakery and produce section is really great. read more

I am a former resident of the South Florida area where Publix is the dominant super market chain. My late Wife and I used to shop there often, and when we moved to the Mountains in '13 were most unhappy that the price of food was so high here in NC. To me Ingles is nothing more than a glorified convenience store with some outrageously high prices, no customer service other than walking your stuff to your car for you, and a limited selection of products. This left Walmart, which has ok prices and is one of the worst Walmarts I've been too anywhere. Then Publix opened and my wife and I were thrilled. Not only where they cheaper on many staple goods, but the quality of those goods is a notch above. There is no one in town than can match Publix bakery too. I was surprised also to find that on many things sold in the other two stores (before Aldi opened), were much higher in price than Publix. Especially meats and cold cuts. In fact once Publix opened Ingles lowered the price on their Boars Head products to be more in line with Publix. It is nice to have a real supermartket in area north of Asheville, that sells quality products at good prices. read more

This review is for Publix in Weaverville, NC. Okay, let me be the first to say, it's about time we got a Publix in Weaverville. Finally Ingles and Walmart has some real competition and we actually have a great selection. Pricing at Publix is so much better than Walmart and Ingles. The inventory at this Publix is huge. I went shopping at Publix the second week it was open. I was immediately greeted as I walked in and was amazed by how polite and welcoming everyone was here. Employees were handing out free samples and I was so ready to try everything. This Publix is very clean and quite honestly is one of the best Publix I have shopped at. This Publix had everything I was looking for and had a great selection to choose from. Everyone was so polite and welcoming in every section of the store. That makes me want to continue shopping here. Great customer service goes a long way and this Publix achieves just that. I bought groceries and the woman who bagged them carried them out for me in the pouring rain. That honestly says quite a lot to me. Probably the only downside to having a Publix is the traffic in Weaverville. It is so busy and packed up the Main Street now. But who cares? We have a Publix! Finally! If you are in the area and have grocery shopping to do, stop at Publix. This Publix is very clean, has great prices, a great selection, and has an amazing, friendly staff. Do not shop here via instacart if you are at high medical risk, unable to get a vaccine yet, and concerned about covid. When I arrived to pick up my order the app said it had already been picked up. When I tried calling the designated Publix number for help, the phone rang and rang for several minutes with no answer. I then had to go inside and found myself unavoidably close to 4 unmasked people (including one instacart shopper) and had to raise my voice to get any help in finding my order. When someone from the store came to help me he was apologetic and explained issues like this have been a pattern lately-- for this reason, be forewarned if you don't want to end up in a similar risky situation. read more

Don't Bother! I normally would not review a supermarket but I've simply had enough with this Publix. Having lived in Florida for several years Publix was the bomb there, the Publix in Weaverville is NOT up to the chain standard. On too many occasions they are way to many out of date, or close date, products. Last night there was product that expired in March - it was May 24th. Get to the check out and only 1 lane is running for big orders so i did self checkout. There is not room for a full cart of product and it's sad when I can actually scan and bag faster than the checkout can keep up. It was topped off by an incompetent cashier shepherding over self check-out. She could obviously see the system was not keeping up but did nothing to help, actually only slowed things down. It disappointing because I really wanted to shop here. No more! The More! There is a perfectly good Ingles across the street which has better dates and wider selection. Sorry Publix, you blew it for this Florida hopeful. read more

I like publix's for the deli, and wine selection. The staff are pretty awesome, but can get overly pushy about wanting to help you. But that's night and day when you go across the street to ingles. They seem to be avoiding you at all costs. The meat section is nice but lacks higher end cuts. It's very difficult to find tuna selects for poke/sushi/sashimi. However, their in-house sushi is pretty good for store prepared sushi. The ethnic sections in the store are well appointed. The bakery is always on point with awesome treats, and the produce has a nice selection. I typically go to publix's for my groceries unless I am looking for prime grade beef. read more

I changed pharmacies because I had heard good things about publix. They did save me some money each month but I am beginning to really think it's not worth it. The pharmacy staff in the Weaverville location has the worst attitudes and the worst customer service that I have experienced in a very long time. They are not friendly, they treat you like you are incompetent, they are not helpful and heaven forbid if you try to have a phone conversation without one of them talking over you. I should have stayed where I was at and just paid more for some friendly faces and customer service where I was actually treated like a person. read more

Here is the problem with a Corporate entity that is too large to care: does not change its online hours when they change those hours at the door; 'makes' the Manager apologize for Corporate disinterest or disability to change the online hours of operation by using the 'overwhelmed' defense; tells you the day before to come tomorrow for toilet paper in the early AM and doesn't post on the door signage to let you know it hasn't arrived and is usually 4 to 5 hours late. Really?? Here is my advice: try informing your Public, 'Publix' ( see, even your name reveals your unfulfilled purpose) and pay bonuses to your employees for exposing themselves to the COVID virus and then announce it to we, the Public. Now that would be responsible 'Corporateship'....but you lack of action tells me your not listening or willing to act beyond the usual 'apologetics.' read more

If you miss good 'ole fashioned customer service... shop at Publix in Weaverville. I am periodically in the Weaverville area and have started to plan to stop there for groceries when my travels take me that way. They have the best produce I've seen at a main stream grocery store. The people from managers to baggers are the most courteous I've ever run into (here in WNC or elsewhere).
