People in the service side were not very friendly. I spent a little time getting parts for my Yamaha.

I had a very disappointing experience with Ingman Marine and their service department this past February 2026. Purchased a used 2020 Bennington and registered it with service dept personnel and was told boat still had 5 years of warranty left on it. Fantastic. Told to put a list together of items that needed fixing (with photos) and did so. This was in October 2025. Ingman service center personnel told me approval for repairs had been obtained from Bennington Manufacturing. Again Fantastic. Time proceeded into late November, and I was told the Bennington factory was closing for the holidays, and that they were out of stock of the seat skins needed to replace my ripped seat covers but would have more in stock come January. I was told by Ingman Service Center Personnel to try back after the first of the year but again confirmed with him that the warranty approval for the boat repairs was still in place. He told me yes, and that he was reading as much in an email on his computer from his contact at Bennington Manufacturing, and for me not to worry. Now it is the second week of January 2026, and I was told the service center personnel I have been dealing with since October 2025 was out for 2 weeks on personal leave. No one else could help me. Unbelievable. And at the end of January, I was told the service center personnel took an additional week off. NOTE: I have gone from being approved for repairs by Bennington Manufacturing in October 2025, waiting to bring my boat in for warranty repairs, and it is now the 1st of February 2026. The Service Center Manager now decides to step in and makes a phone call to Bennington Manufacturing and afterwards immediately informs me that my 2020 Bennington is NOT covered by the 10-year warranty and that he can only assume the service center personnel made an error initially back in October 2025, but cannot be sure as the personnel is still out on leave and he cannot speak for him. The service manager says he will speak to the personnel once he returns. I heard nothing for 4 business days and decided to call the Ingman Service dept myself and speak with the 'now returned' service center personnel who had no idea of what had occurred while he was out of the office; the Service Manager never spoke with him. We are now heading to the 2nd week of February, and nothing has been done to or with my boat. That's 4.5 months! Ironically, the very next day I receive a phone call from the service center personnel telling me that he 'made a mistake' when reading his computer back in October 2025, and that my 2020 Bennington was never approved for warranty work and he was sorry for any misunderstanding. And that was it. No concern or sense of responsibility for having had me wait 4 months for repair work that I was told that I would be getting but never did. Now, for my inconvenience, and in an effort for Ingman Marine to try to obtain a future customer, I asked the personnel if they would at least be willing to recover the two ripped/torn seats on my boat, and we could forget about all the other repairs needed. He said yes, but it would be some weeks as they had a backed-up schedule for repairs, and then he proceeded to give me the cost of replacing/repairing the seats!! What?? I am from out of state and recently moved to FL. Explained an issue that I am having with my boat and the response I was given was return it to where I had my last service. I wish I could but they are 8 hours away in GA. They said sorry 2000 hours 2004 engine I dont want to open that can of worms. Exact words: Good Luck . . . I offered to send a video and the response was: I dont want to get involved in it. Devin said any mechanic outboard would be willing to look at it. ummm I understand that.. your a Master Yamaha tech. This is a Yamaha that was serviced religiously? Your master yamaha tech doesnt even want to look at it? Anyway. Never had an experience like that.. First time for everything. Went elsewhere and see what they said. I guess if the engine is shot the business I am brining it to will get the money for the repower. read more

started going to ingman in 2019 I purchased an outboard at a great price nice place friendly people, then I tried to purchase parts from them and have had nothing but bad luck, from them ordering the wrong parts to telling me the part isn't available on very common parts, so I order oem parts on line for the same cost but have to pay 7 bucks in shipping instead of going 3 block down the road to ingman.I feel their parts dept is far below par but gave them 3 stars because there are some nice people that work there and then a few of them talk to you like you don't know the difference between a lawn mower and a marine outboard motor I wont give them another try read more

Well I have never experienced this before. I have been searching for a hard to find Yamaha part. This location had what I needed. So here's the really strange thing. They refused to ship to me because I live out of state. I asked for clarification and was told we can ship in state or pick up at counter. "We've been burned before" was the excuse given. My Grady White Freedom 285 received damage from Hurricane Ian. I did not want to take it to the dealer of purchase, so I asked my canal neighbor where he bought his and would he recommend them. He told me to speak to Sean Keathley at Ingman Marine. Before contacting Sean I called for Mr. Ingman, but got a general manager that told me Mr. Ingman does not take calls and that he handles everything for him. I spoke with Sean, and the first email with pictures went out on 11/13/2022. Sean explained to me that with a location down, inventory damaged, and current customers needing work it would be many months until they could get my boat in. He gave me an estimate based on photos, and a check came in from my insurance made out to Ingman Marine. We were all set, and I knew I had to wait a while. We stayed in contact and the date to get me in had changed a few times. My boat was to go in the beginning of July / 2023, then moved to August 2023. Until one day I had called for Sean and spoke to the GM again (he would not put me over to Sean). He told me it was going to be another 4 months from what Sean had Promised me. I explained the situation, and he did not want to hear it. TOTALLY UNACCEPTIBLE FROM THE GM!! I did call and spoke to Sean again, and at the end of the conversation like others I expressed to "not forget about me and call me back" I never heard back and to date never have from Sean. Now over a year later and I can't get my boat in another place until Jan, 2024 and will be down for months. Ingman Marines actions has caused me to have my boat on a waiting list for 10 plus months with them, when it could have been down long ago. Do not waste your time dealing with this man and his company. Learn from mine and others mistakes. This man like many other company's set it up so that they do not have to deal with people, nor do they keep their finger on the pulse of their business. A receipt for failure!! Total administrative nightmare !!! Purchased a boat mid-March and paid cash. Now, 2 months later and still no clear title or registration or tag for the trailer even though the dealership charged for these items. Salesman was excellent but the vessel was a "consignment" of another salesman's brother. The last registration on this vessel was over 10 years ago and there was an outstanding lien on the boat that wasn't cleared at closing. The bank would not issue a clear title and I keep getting the run around from the dealership to contact the original salesman for extending the paperwork and bill of sale. My salesman happens to be off every time I call but he does return my call when he is back at work. He was very honest and trustworthy but poorly supported by the dealership read more

I bought my boat in 2016 and had nothing problems with it up to this point where I am fixing it up and selling it. The service Dept. in Port Charlotte is substandard and they cannot seem to get anything fixed. Did not like the salesman that helped me at all, I could hardly stand to be in the same room with him. Rude and arrogent. The service dept. in Placida is not bad but once again shitty mechanics. I have a stack of service orders for the boat that I keep handy in case anyone ask me about Ingman Marine. They are a large dealer and it appears to me that they don't care about customer service at all. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone in Southwest FL. I have owned four boats and have never had such a bad experience with a dealership and most of all lousy service. read more

Absolutely terrific experience with Ingman. I was repowering an older, smaller boat and everyone at Ingman made the experience a delight. KG, the repower specialist, was responsive, helpful, honest and a pleasure to work with. The tech that did the work was clearly knowledgeable and walked me through everything they did and clearly answered all my break-in, maintenance and warranty questions. Their prices were very reasonable as well. They're clearly dedicated to being the best marine team in SWFL, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

I'm completely dissatisfied with the service department. I have purchased 3 Seahunts from this dealer over the years. I have dealt with Aaron and Sean for years they have bee there. I sent the owner a letter of recommendation about Aaron. Justifying my complaint. My boat had a 100 hour service done at 83 hours just over a year ago. With covid and hurricane we have only put 20 hours since, asked for an oil change and lube fittings, stating what to freshen it up, if you see anything please call. Thinking an oil change usually run round 300 dollars. Instead I get an email letting me know its done with an invoice for 950 dollars. So, they claim they performed an annual service which turns out to be exactly the same as a 100 hour service I just got a little over a year for 650 dollars. So, the labor charge for the same service was 340 dollars and now nearly double at 600 dollars. Outrageous, for any business to spend a customer money without authorization. I was told by Sean they are the cheapest labor rate on the peninsula. I think the labor rate that is not posted to double is crazy, but I think its wrong to charge for something the customer never asked for. If you decide to use this dealer ask for an estimate prior to any work is done. Personally I'm done and will use some other dealer for service and boats. read more

"its truly unbelievable!a company "ingman marine "port charlotte with this reputation treats their customers - "like as dirt"! a used boat salesperson at "ingman marine"" promising to sell their boat,telling them for 4 months everyday an "new lie"!after complaining they said they didn't want to sell that boat anymore!and they want it "off the lot" now!first speech of the salesman,there is a bill about 43.- to pay!2 days later he said there is a bill to pay for 145,-!as customers wanted to pick the boat up,they are asking to pay us 262,- "before we release that boat" !it was promised to bring that boat for free to a place/storage off 41 like where they picket up before! they got it from there! "done was nothing",because after 4 month telling "lying stories" the "salesman" told that the batteries where now empty and they could not do anything! Larry Stone, sales manager, was a pleasure to work with and there was absolutely no "hokey pokey" when it came to pricing. Larry kept me advised of the progress on the boat build and was always available to answer any of my inquires. Mark, who delivered the boat, spent almost 2 hours with me getting me familiar with the boat and it's operation. Being a "first time" boat owner, Mark was a pleasure to work with and answered all my questions. He even had me dock the boat several times to make sure I was familiar with the techniques of docking a boat. We bought a boat in February and have had nothing but problems from day one....poor customer service, poor response time, once they sell you the boat, they take no responsibility for any problems with a brand new boat... they will keep your boat there for 11 days and have nothing done that was supposed to be done....would not recommend to anyone.... read more

After making an offer on a skiff which was accepted I asked if they could measure the how long the skiff is because I have a small garage and a 3 1/2 hour ride each way to get there I need to know. They call back and tell me 18'2" when it was 19'5" so I drive the next day with my checkbook to make the purchase. After I measure it, I call both Travis and Chris to tell them of this, I'm told well I can get a 17' Maverick in any garage and I have no idea what that has to do with anything. This Action Craft boat has a Trolling motor, Cavitation plate and a Jack plate which it longer. When you consider the skiff was 40' from the building, that someone would just go measure it to get a boat deal. Also told it was in great shape and ready to go, but when you turn the steering wheel it turns 2 times around before the motor turns (Hydralic Steering problem) it is not ready to go. Still waiting for someone to call and say "I'm sorry" we made a mistake after I called them back with the bad news. Giving Florida Brokers a bad reputation!!! Went to Naples Boat Mart and was treated by Professionals which they are!!! read more
