Went over the safety briefing and they lead you out of the channel to the gulf. They do not start the time until you arrive in the gulf which I thought was very cool. One note is no lockers for your personal stuff but they hang onto your license as a deposit and will put your keys with them. Prior to departure the tour guide assured me and my 18-year-old daughter that we would be back before dark as it was illegal to ride wave runners after dark. We selected the Sunset Tour option with this understanding as it was the first time I had ever rode a wave runner and neither myself or my daughter have ever rode one in the gulf which is quite different from a lake experience where we live. The tour guide was very nice and explained how to operate the wave runner to me and did a great job accommodating my daughter and myself during the tour. However, on the way back we were in complete darkness and could not even see the signs to tell us the information needed for no wake zones etc... The tour guide had to pull out his phone to see what the signs would say and I felt we were in a very dangerous situation. We did not get back to the dock until 9:20 pm - this was over an hour later than scheduled. It was a very scary experience and I had asked the tour guide how many sunset tours he had done and he said that this was his first one. I believe he was around 19-20 years old which was not an issue except for I would question what type of training he has had on time management as this experience could have resulted in an incident due to the risks of driving these wave runners in complete darkness.

We took the 1 p.m. tour during a busy holiday weekend, so I would probably choose a morning or sunset cruise if seeing dolphins is your main priority. The sandbar stop was the highlight and the main reason I booked this tour. The water was warm, and we found lots of living sand dollars. My son loved exploring and searching in the water. We also heard that manatees passed near the boat while I was out on the sandbar, but unfortunately, I missed them. We purchased the VIP upgrade, which included priority boarding, alcoholic drinks for the adults, and soda or juice for kids. If you decide you want to have drinks after you get on the boat and didn't get the upgrade, you can add it when you're on the boat. The larger tour boat had plenty of shade and space, and it never felt crowded. The bathroom was easy to access and clean. Captain Dan and Brandt were friendly and helpful, and Captain Dan's commentary about the wildlife and waterfront homes made the ride entertaining. Even without dolphins, this was a fun afternoon on the water, and I would recommend the tour--especially for families who want a boat ride that also lets them get out and explore.

Good information was shared along the way and when dolphins were located on the tour Chad was excellent at pointing them out along the way. A bald eagle nest was also seen complete with a bald eagle perched overlooking the ocean. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous and the tour was just the right amount of time to be out on the water to enjoy the boat ride. We don't drink so purchased the tickets without the alcohol included but then were welcome to bring on our own drinks and snacks for the ride. The playlist of music out on the sunset tour was top notch and apparently dolphins have a good affection for Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" as when that song came on the dolphins came out in force. I rented a jet ski from this company, but the experience ended in a situation that raises serious…read moreconcerns about how they operate. There was no clear or visible parking guidance where I parked in front of their location at 100 Circuit Rd. The only sign on the building directs customers to a side gate and says nothing about parking restrictions or towing. I also received no verbal instructions about parking when I made the reservation over the phone. At no point was I warned that parking in that area could result in my vehicle being towed. After my vehicle was towed, the company claimed there was signage elsewhere on the property, but it was not visible from where I parked and would not reasonably be seen by a customer arriving at their storefront. Instead of taking responsibility, they immediately shifted blame to the marina and towing company. At no point did they acknowledge that their lack of clear, visible parking instructions--both over the phone and on-site--directly contributed to the situation. Separately, the overall process felt rushed. I fortunately have prior experience riding wave runners, but if I hadn't, the lack of meaningful instruction and the speed at which paperwork was handled would have been concerning from a safety standpoint. To make matters worse, I was initially denied access to retrieve personal belongings from my vehicle and had to deal with the situation in extreme heat (around a 107°F heat index) with my two young children present. This was entirely avoidable. The lack of clear direction, combined with how this situation was handled afterward, is a serious red flag.

We were staying in Venice and found this location to be accessible, easy to get to, with easy breezy parking. Other great things? Right next to an awesome tiki bar for post-rental pina coladas! The views and vistas from this location were expertly explained to us and we enjoyed snake island, a few of the surrounding bays, and gorgeous views of sting rays, cranes, and BEST of all: dolphins! I had two swim up directly next to my kayak which was one of the most incredible things that has ever happened to me. I can't say enough about our experience and I highly recommend adding some boat time to your FL itinerary.
