In town for a visit so we got to check out the new location finally. The shop is located in a strip mall and looks small when you walk in but as you lead yourself into the different rooms, you realize just how large it is. They have a good amount of inventory with anything that you would need for fishing. Rods, reels, lures, live bait, clothing accessories and so much more. The Pirate crew was busy assisting customers so we got to watch them in action including Robert with a long time customer buying a new reel and stringing it. This shop and its crew have been a long time staple of Port Charlotte so if you haven't had a chance to meet them, stop in the shop and give it a go you won't be disappointed. I went to Fishin Franks for the first time today. Although I've fished my whole life, I'm new to inshore fishing and needed help with lures. The employees were so helpful and friendly without pushing product on me. They simply told me which ones work well and left me to decide what to get and spent as much time with me as I needed. It's so refreshing to find a store (of any kind) that cares about customer service! The only bad thing is that they have so much great stuff, I had to force myself to leave before spending my whole paycheck in there. This was a great experience and even though it's a good 30 min drive for me one way, I'm going to make this place my only source for fishing equipment. Well done, fishin Franks! read more

This is the BEST place around to get equipment and bait. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Josh spent at least two hours with us because we wanted poles, reels, and rigging for shark fishing. He even took us outside and simulated a shark catch. read more

Excellent customer service and he spent a lot of time with me, even though I didn't make a purchase that day! Very good customer service! I've been going there for 35 plus years and seen this store grow to what it is now , the store has improved tremendously over the years and the staff has too , but one thing hasn't changed is the family type atmosphere, the knowledge of what's in the store and where and how to catch fish ! This place is awesome! The staff is very friendly and helpful. As a female going into a bait shop can sometimes be a bit intimidating but the staff here made me feel right at home. They were so accommodating and really took the time to make sure all my questions were answered and I got what I needed. Steve helped me on my new rod selection and made certain I got a rod that was exactly what I needed for the style of fishing I encounter. The bait is fresh and almost always have stocked. So I had emailed fishin Frank's before a trip with my boys to Port Charlotte and found an immediate response and really good info in my in box. When we arrived my sons and I went by and we were set up with what was needed for canal and shore fishing. The rods we had at the rental were not up to the job so we rented rods for the week, in excellent shape and rigged for 5$ a day. Extremely helpful people to a one and very knowledgeable. The folks bend over backwards to help and offer advice if asked. The store is all fishing, no boogie boards or beach toys. They stock about everything and are very reasonable price wise. To round it out they recommended four charters for me and said to call and see who is a good fit. They don't steer you to their best friend , and I wound up having the best fishing trip with my sons yet. They do not make them like that anymore so give them your business and you won't leave disappointed. read more

If you know what you want or need Franks is fine but, I needed some bait and advise. The employee Robert talked to me like I was a complete idiot and was very sarcastic.
