I have gotten 9 piercings done before elsewhere and I've never had as terrible of a time and left feeling as sad and scammed as I have here. I had one request and it was ignored. It feels like a total insult. Coming here for anything has been my biggest regret, don't let it be yours too. First I would like to say this was my first tattoo so I was already nervous about EVERYTHING. I tried going to another tattoo place the week before in downtown Athens and I didn't get the best service and was brushed off by the staff and tattoo artists. While randomly searching places on Google I stumbled upon ink9. It didn't have as many reviews as the other places in downtown Athens but I saw Threat's artwork and I was blown away and decided to call them up. STAR #1 FOR GOOD WORK DONE I called to see if I could get a tattoo that evening because it said they were going to close in about an hour and the lady that picked up the phone verified that the tattoo artist that I saw on ig "threat" would be there when I arrived. That to me is a bonus because the last place I walked into said no they were about to close in an hour and no one wanted to tattoo me. STAR #2 FOR BEING PROFESSIONAL When I arrived the lady greeted me and asked if I just called and introduced me to threat. He was super kind, super patient, and walked me through what kind of tattoo he could draw for me. Amazingly he spent about 30-45 mins going working with me and editing the tattoo to make sure it was to my liking. At that point, I thought he was going to send me home and tell me to come back the next day because it was about time to close, WRONG. He said Ok let's get it done. I was amazed that it was the complete opposite answer of what I expected and opposite of what I experienced at the previous place. STAR#3 FOR STAYING LATE TO CUSTOMIZE/DRAW MY TATTOO Prior to getting the tattoo threat loaned me a charger, made sure I felt comfortable, and made sure I was relaxed. The tattoo took about an hour so now it's more then an hour after he was supposed to close and he never rushed during or even after the tattoo. THE TATTOO LOOKED GREAT! He explained to me what to do when I took the plastic/tape off and I paid him. He gave me his card and told me to call him if I needed anything or had any questions. STAR#4 FOR AMAZING WORK! Now I know everyone always says to call if there's a problem but they don't really mean it. I started seeing a Lil smudging on tattoo even though I didn't touch it and It was alarming so I contacted threat on ig and he replied and reassured me that it was plasma and it was part of the healing process Honestly, It takes alot for me to want to give 5 stars but I'm impressed. I started getting a Puerto Rican themed sleeve. Unfortunately Kristin was the wrong choice since she couldn't even get the colors of the flag right. She said she could fix it but that's not how that turned out. I'm embarrassed to say that I gave her the benefit of the doubt and paid over $1500 for shotty work. I go here every year for my birthday ever since my 18th. But Kristin is one of the most talented tattoo artists I have ever had. My father and I love her work and all shes has done for us. She makes you feel at home and the other workers there make you feel like family. If I had to rate this place out of ten, I would give it an 11/10 and cannot wait to come back to get more work done! read more

I don't remember the name of the girl who gave me my tattoo, but for my 18th birthday which was 6 months ago, I got 2 tattoos. One on my thumb and one on my upper forearm. She 1) did not shave me. 2) did dry runs only (which is when you do the tattoo without any lubricant on it) and 3) told me to keep it as dry as possible. These are NOT how to do it. my thumb is patchy on half and blown out on the other part. The upper forearm is COMPLETELY blown out AND patchy. not one line is a solid line that does not have a hole in it. These are both MAYBE 2 inches with no shading and only line work. and she charged me 220. I am guessing she charged that because i was young and have never gotten one before that. This place is a hidden gem! I found it on instagram and decided to just go and check it out since it was near me. It was hard to find due to the construction at the shopping center they are located in and the directions sent me the wrong way. When i got there it was pretty quiet at the time which made me nervous because i am very picky with my tattoo parlors. They accepted me as a walk-in and embraced me. I talked to Blake Williams about a tattoo idea i had. The picture i walked in with was really trash and boring compared to what i walked out with. Blake really helped me come out with a more visually appealing tattoo. While i was in there i got to make conversation with the other artist in there and they were nothing but great people. I plan to go back again and get more work done and i encourage you to go check them out as i have never left a yelp review before but this place deserves it! read more
