Try somewhere else! I went in to the shop looking to get a rose and my mom's birthday. Jeff, the artist, immediately said no to the flower cause it didn't look good to him. He then preceded to draw his own rose that wasn't close to what I wanted tattooed on my body. I ended up getting only my mom's birthday on my ankle. The only reason this wasn't a one star was because the tattoo came out good. Also, he had me Venmo his personal account after which I found very weird and kinda sketch from a business standpoint. If you have a tattoo in mind that you really want to get, don't go here. They will probably belittle your idea and just do what they want with the tattoo. Instead of wasting your time here, the 3 Ravens tattoo shop has great, professional artists that are more than willing to work with you on a tattoo! And much better customer service :) read more

For a place that practically begs for walk-ins, I've never been more turned off by a business in the first minute. The shop looks clean, spacious, whatever, but all of that means nothing when you're spoken down to & straight up disrespected for the tattoo you want. I came in on a Thursday afternoon -- shop empty, artists sitting around, a perfect time for an easy walk-in. I wanted a heart on my finger -- I know all the risks & downfalls of tattooing fingers, I have six other tattoos, I'm not a sorority girl fresh off the street looking to get her first ink. The second I said what I wanted, the artists looked at each other, & one guy (no idea his name, bearded, looks like a jerk) didn't even acknowledge me, rolled his eyes and shook his head, & went back to whatever he was doing. Cool. I looked back at the other artist, stunned by this blatant rudeness & completely awful customer service, but he didn't seem to think it was an issue that the other artist clearly thought he was too good to do my simple tattoo & quoted me $100. At this point, I knew I wasn't going to be tattooed by these people, jacked up minimum or otherwise. They clearly thought I was a dumb girl who wanted a dumb tattoo & my money was better spent elsewhere -- down the street with a competitor who treated me like a human. I hate self-righteous, smug shops like this. I live in Atlanta where the artists take pride in their craft & also respect the people who are trusting them with their bodies. Do yourself a favor & go.... anywhere else. Or better yet, come to Atlanta where the real professionals work. read more

I absolutely love and relish the days that I get to go to Athens and see Radar for a new tattoo. I am definitely a repeat customer and so is my boyfriend. Most of his extensive work has been done by Radar. The shop is nice and clean, the staff and artists friendly and funny. All of the artists are great, but Radar is the one I go to and he is fantastic. I wasn't completely sure on the layout for my most recent tattoo, so I sent him several reference pictures and what he put together was better than I could have hoped for. His line work is gorgeous and incredibly detailed. He is also quick and efficient, unlike other artists I have had. He finished the line work for my half sleeve in close to two hours. I am proud to call myself a repeat customer and hope to visit this shop many, many more times in the future. read more

Awesome! Wonderful experience. They take walk ins but we did have an appointment with Lenny. He was great. He really took the time to sketch out my fiancé's designs and executed the design very nicely. "Eek! Methinks not" is an understatement. If you are not already a hipster athens local with at least 4 body piercings and the grungy prince avenue aesthetic, they do not care about your business. Long version: I am a blonde ass white girl and I am WELL AWARE- but I still act chill for this crowd as I know they are predisposed to hate me / think I am a republican brat so I try to not act my stereotype. James, one of the co owners maybe (?) or lead tat artist / small dick energy-employee was insanely rude to me. 1. I asked for a relatively small-font tattoo- and he said the lowest size he could go would be a microsoft word size 38. (I know this is not true. I have a small font tattoo already, but I did not let him know this) 2. I asked for cursive, and he printed off a sample for me with honestly the most insulting "cursive" font from Word- ever. The look in his eye made it seem like he wanted to see if I would have the courage to tell him "that font is repulsive" because it truly was that distasteful. I asked to see more options and it was the biggest inconvenience of his life for him to do that for me. 3. I wanted 13 characters. small, minimal, thin- and he quoted me "at the least- $130" And I have never paid that much for that small of a tattoo in my life. Pricing did not seem to have a rhyme or reason. If anything, because he assumed I had never gotten one before and did not know the average price, he quoted me high. 4. I wanted this tattoo near rib-cage area. He said "he would not recommend it because I wouldn't have the pain tolerance." and "He only tattoo's certain people that can sit still for that long" I then showed him the sizable tattoo on my rib cage, to maybe prove that I was able to sit still. I then showed him the small font tattoo I have to also show "hey, I am not clueless!!" and he told me "Where'd you get those done? They look like shit." I still did not let this phase me, I just said "No worries, I will come back more prepared." and shook his hand and left. That is all. In the words of Pretty Woman: "Big Mistake. Huge." read more

Very dissatisfied, rude service, overpriced, misleading price quotes, we went last week and I got my first tattoo ever, at the time I discussed adding a heart and banner later, the whole price quoted was $110 but I started with the name and paid $90, thinking that I could come back and get it finished. Today we went and got the same tattoo on my husband, the name on a banner inside the heart. I had intended to finish mine, adding the heart, but NOW he says he wants an additional $120 for the remaining ink on my arm, which is more than the original quote PLUS I already paid $90 plus a $10 tip. I went and got my first tattoo here and it was the best possible experience. At first, I was nervous that the staff would be super intimidating, and maybe even condescending, but that wasn't the case at all. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere inside is also pretty cool too and just being in there made me want to get a million tattoos then and there. Jeff did my tattoo and was very patient and helped me decide on a better placement than what I originally wanted, which turned out to be the right call. He talked me through the whole process and answered every question I had. After a couple of weeks, I noticed that one of the lines were thinner than the rest and I went back and Jeff touched it up absolutely free of charge. Overall, my experience here was absolutely fantastic! The place is very hygienic, the staff is super nice, and most importantly, they take pride in their work. After years of wanting a more intimate piercing, wasn't super thrilled to go back to WTL because of my previous experience and thinking I wouldn't be taken seriously. I came here with a group of my girlfriends for a bachelorette dare, in which we dared the bride to get a tattoo on her posterior cheeks of her fiancé's middle name. We had no idea what to expect, as most of us had never gotten tattoos before. We were greeted by Lydia (our tattoo artist) right when we walked in. She got an idea of what we were here for and got right to business (she may have judged us for a sweet second, but she kept it in well!) She pulled up the variety of fonts they offered and let my friend play around with them. We all sat in their waiting area for only about 30 min and she was done! The final product was finely printed and, according to the bride, "felt painless!" Came in as a walk in and was looking to get 3 words tattooed they quoted me 120$. I gave him pics of what I wanted. It took him about 2 hours to draw up 2 of the words in different fonts. They didnt give me any paperwork while I waited It was pretty uncomfortable they dont say much and look at you weird when your trying to explain what you wanna get .. I can say I felt like he didnt even wanna be there. I only ended up getting a one word tattoo that took maybe 10 mins max and the whole time I was there was about 3 hours. He also charged me 100$ for the one word when I was quoted 120$ for all 3? They couldnt take card payment and you dont pay to the studio the guy who did my tattoo was outside smoking and took my money directly no receipt no nothing.
