This place is fabulous if you sadly need them when a loved one passes. They are honest and transparent about fees and services. No bait and switch. I was a mess when I went to them initially. My main reason for writing this review is to hopefully save someone else the grief and aggravation of dealing specifically with the Inland Memorial Funeral Care 219 n Euclid Upland location. This place has been absolutely awful to deal with, and what was already the hardest time of my life was made even more stressful because of them. I unexpectedly lost my partner after more than 30 years of marriage. There was incorrect information put on the death certificate, and trying to get it corrected was a nightmare. The Inland Memorial Upland location is nearly impossible to get a hold of. I called over and over with no answer and rarely heard back. I eventually had to start calling their other locations just to find someone who would help me. My partner's remains were ready to be picked up and nobody called me. I was the one who had to call and find out they were ready. When I asked why no one had notified me, I was told they were busy. Then the death certificate arrived, which was supposed to be the corrected one, and the same thing happened. Nobody called. I called them and was told, "Oh yeah, we have it here." When I asked why I wasn't notified, once again I was told they were busy. To make matters worse, the certificate STILL wasn't correct. I finally went back to the Upland location in person and spoke with Cesia, who I had already spoken with more than once about this. I explained that I was still dealing with the same issue after everything I had already gone through trying to get it corrected. Her response was, "You have to understand people make mistakes. I'm busy." Of course people make mistakes, but "we're busy" seems to be the excuse for everything at this location. I shouldn't have to chase down a funeral home to find out my partner's remains are ready, find out a death certificate has arrived, or get their mistakes corrected. Every interaction I've had with Cesia has been unpleasant. She is rude, dry and dismissive. When you ask questions, she sounds annoyed and like she doesn't want to be bothered. After reading other reviews and seeing other people mention Cesia by name and describe similar experiences, it's clear I'm not the only person who has experienced this type of treatment. I do want to make it clear that my experience was not the same with everyone at Inland Memorial. Kelly, who works at a different location, was amazing. Out of all the locations I called, she seemed to be the only person I could consistently get a hold of. She never gave me an attitude and was genuinely willing to help. Julie, the supervisor, was also great. She contacted me to resolve the issue before I even had the chance to call her, and she personally delivered the corrected death certificate to my home. I truly appreciated both Julie and Kelly because they showed me the communication and compassion that I should have received from the beginning. My problem is specifically with the Inland Memorial Upland location and the way things were handled there. They are impossible to get a hold of, they don't communicate, and I constantly felt like I had to chase them for information. I am already trying to figure out how to move forward after unexpectedly losing the person I was married to for more than 30 years. The last thing I should have had to do was spend this time chasing down a funeral home. If this review saves even one grieving family from going through the additional stress and aggravation I experienced with the Inland Memorial Funeral Care Upland location, then it was worth writing. read more

Honestly even after 3 years dealing with this place we discovered our baby's urn being not filled enough. They glued the urn shut so we are scared to open to discover the urn either empty or filled to the bare minimum. The death certificate had wrong gender. Avoid this place if you can. I wish we could do more about this place but at least we can warn others about this place. read more

Very irresponsible business, think twice or more before you make your decision with them. Our love one had pass away since August 2021, we had paid everything to Inland Memorial, Inc, and was told that due to COVID, our dead certificate will be ready in 4 months. as January 2022, we have not yet rec'd the dead certificate, and was told that someone in the office mistaken the gender of our love ones on the certificate and will need to redo it since Nov. 2021. First of all, when this was happened, no one had ever notify us, and we had been pushing to get the certificate. Second, as today April 2022, we still not getting anything, I had try many phone calls but no one ever returning my calls. I was first handle by Gracie in Riverside office and now she told me I have contact Upland office since she is not working there, but no one ever replied from both office. I just like to say, losing the love one is hurting enough, we just like to get this taken care as soon as we could and continue on our life, but since we haven't got our certificate, we feel like our left stuck there and we had keep reminding ourselves this unfinished task, and this is like a wound in our heart that can't never be heal. read more

We had used this business for cremation in 2014 with no problem. However, on 6/16/2022 we signed a contract for the cremation of my brother's remains and 3 death certificates, and were told to expect a few weeks for the cremains and 3 to 4 weeks for the death certificates. I live out of state and requested everything be sent to my home in New Mexico. After 4 weeks my husband called to inquire about the whereabouts of the cremains and death certificates. He was told it would actually be 12 weeks! I cannot access my brother's bank account, 401k, and complete other business transactions. A friend's husband just died in Orange County and the whole process took 2 weeks. Now, after 12 weeks, this business does not answer the phone after multiple tries. I was finally able to contact Jennifer from the Upland office last week only after calling each branch office and finally getting Anna in the Colton office ( the only branch to answer ) to pickup and give me Jennifer's number.I was promised a tracking number by last Friday and received nothing. I have complained to the CA Cemetery and Funeral Board. I would say avoid this business (are they still even open?) and it's branches. read more

From the gentlemen who picked up my husband from our home to Julie, the office manager, all involved were professional and made this unpleasant task doable. We wanted my husband's ashes for his memorial and Julie made arrangements to have us pick them up in Colton to get them in time. The employees at the crematorium were also very kind and professional. Most everything was fine. Just fine. The two major issues were: they sent two men to my mother in laws funeral service who were completely unfamiliar with catholic services. The church told me they were shocked at how inexperienced the inland memorial staff was and how much hand holding they required. The last and most devastating mistake was their failure to get two locks of my mother in laws hair as her children wanted. She was cremated. It's not fixable. They refunded the $14 we paid for the hair but that was almost insulting. I understand people are people and mistakes happen BUT if there is not a way to make 100% certain through a set of checks and balances that a mistake like this will not be made, do not offer the service to grieving loved ones. Failure to obtain a piece of her hair added insult to injury to my already suffering husband and mother in law. And the $14 refund would have been laughable if it wasn't cruel. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!! TO BAD YOU HAVE TO GIVE 1 STAR. My father paid for my mother and his cremation in 2006 through an insurance policy. He paid both in full. In 2021 my mother passed no problem all was paid for, no differential in cost...My father passed on September 30, 2023 and I used Inland memorial as instructed.....At first they told me the funeral home has changed hands and the trust funds were no longer available but the owner would pay that part and I would pay the difference.....I then found the insurance policy....I spoke with them about this and I was told a supervisor would contact me....They then discovered in their files the new insurance company and seems they had the information all along, even through the change of ownership....So the new owner has now decided to collect on the insurance policy and I still have to pay the difference......So It doesn't make sense that my Father paid for his cremation in full in 2006 so I can pay the inflated difference in 2023.....They play on people's emotions and they must feel like this is fair.....They purchase the funeral home and add two words to the name, instead of Inland Memorial it is now Inland Memorial Funeral Care.... and they do not honor the policies that were in place from long ago...My father was guided by the funeral home to participate in this insurance...I would not recommend this place simply for that.....They are a rip off and crooks in my opinion....what a waste of money to have paid for services 17 years ago...I would definitely shop around....AND WHATEVER YOU DO.....DON'T BUY CREMATION / FUNERAL INSURANCE 20 YEARS BEFORE YOUR DEATH.....YOUR KIDS WILL GET SCREWED BY SOME NEW OWNER WHO HAS NO HEART !!!!!! BUYERS BEWARE! Jennifer Tapp is not who you think she is. The entire company is full of liars and worst unethical individuals ever. Research BBB they have a ton of complaints against them. Also, I have no idea how they are still in business. My father was picked up in August 29th, 2022 and we are still waiting for his remains. Nobody has confirmed the cremation and the details given for it are absolutely ridiculous. They are liars and nobody gets back to you. I have had to call, email and text message still no responses. ALL LOCATIONS NEED TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS! I filed a grievance against them at the Department of Consumer Affairs Cemetery and Funeral Bureau. My next steps are to hire an attorney and make sure this place no longer does business. They are hurting so many family members and should not be allowed to remain open. Ilene in customer support is clueless. She has promised the owner by the name of Alana was to get back to us and still no calls with no updates. It is now Oct 9th and way over a month since my dad was picked up. This is insane. Originally we were told 3 weeks max. I think at this point he is lost and nobody knows what to tell us. My family was referred to them through hospice for affordable burial options and I will say their prices can't be beat, no matter which option you chose. Please do not go here. I choose this place when my Mother passed and it was a huge mistake. They are completely disorganized and do not return calls. The phone system can ring at any of their locations and if your lucky enough to get someone to answer then they will tell you " they will look into it and then no one returns your call. It took three long and agonizing months to get my Moms death certificate. We were told it could take up to 6 weeks as it was LA county. I fully believed them. My mom passed in May. In July my boyfriends father passed ( they used another facility) and they received the death certificate in two weeks. I knew something was wrong with my moms death certificate. I called so many times only to be told it's in the mail. Then, I started going down there and knocking on the door ( even though they are in the office they don't answer the door because " they are with another client " ) You have to keep knocking to get someone to answer and then they tell you they will call you later. We never received a call. My sister finally reached out to the owner begging for help. It still took another three weeks. I went down there MULTIPLE TIMES, as they kept telling me they would check another office for them. The girl told me they could refund the cost of the death certificate and I could go get them myself. Gee thanks. FINALLY, I went down there and knocked on the door for several minutes until someone finally answered and let me in through the back. Enough was enough. I demanded they do something to get the certificate. The girl offered to put it on her own credit card and order them online line, like this was supposed to make me feel better. I told her NO, YOU NEED TO GET IN THE CAR AND DRIVE TO LA AND GET THEM. Again they offered to refund my money for the certificate, so I could get them myself. At this point I told her they should refund all my dads money as they have no idea what they are doing. They will never know the heartache and frustration they put my Dad and our family through, waiting week after week, month after month for the certificate. We couldn't cash her life insurance policy without the death certificate. I just have no words that explain what we went through trying to process her death and planning her celebration of life without receiving the death certificate. They need to close down and reorganize their business. If you leave a message when you call, they will not get it because they don't have the password to listen to them. Jennifer told me this herself. So the machine is full and it will reroute your call to another office. The entire business is a complete , disorganized mess. If you had good service here than you were one of the lucky ones. We received no compensation or refund, I simply had to to tell they were getting a BAD REVIEW to get someone to listen, SO HERE IT IS. read more

"Family business" they said. This "Family business" is by far the worst establishment my family has ever encountered. When we suddenly lost our father we didn't have any arrangements set and in our shocked state, we searched on google. Unfortunately we found Inland Memorial and called them. From the very beginning they were only about the money, not about helping us through our difficult time. They lied about numerous hidden fees and services they said they did, and assumed services so they could put on the bill. Their job was to inform social security, the primary doctor and any parties that need to know in order for us to have a death certificate and a proper funeral for our father. We ended up having to contact all parties and even set up our own funeral arrangements with Riverside National because no one at Inland Memorial "had time" to do their own job. All in all, we ended up paying Inland Memorial for the job that we had done for them. This family company takes advantage of families that are going through their loved ones death, make the family complete the tasks that they were suppose to do and still charge through the roof with all types of hidden fees. I hope no one ever goes to this company again, I know it is hard to think to look at reviews while you are in broken pieces on the floor but please try to find a company who will be your shoulder to cry on, not the hand in your wallet. read more

My dad passed away recently and I turned to Inland Memorial after having had to use them after my mom passed away 6 years ago. Jennifer K was extremely kind and helpful during this most difficult time. I never felt pressured into purchasing anything extra as some funeral homes are known to do. My dad was to be buried in Northern California and Jennifer facilitated all the arrangements so that I didn't have to worry about anything. i paid for the service and was involved in the planning of this service for my nephew.. they want my review removed because the review is the truth..i met with ms easel on two occasions. so if i am the one that paid i am the client..my nephews father was my agent in choosing the services,removing the original review does not change ms easels behavior, her employer contacted me personally to apologies for what had occurred. I had made no plans for my husband's funeral while he was in hospice care, so when he passed sooner than expected, I was lost. The hospice nurse called Inland Memorial in Upland for me and made the arrangements for them to transport his body to their facility that morning. They were so professional and kind when they came to our home, told me someone would be contacting me that afternoon. That's when Jennifer came into my life. From our first meeting in their office through our many telephone conversations and emails, she guided me every step of the way. She arranged a wonderful service at Riverside National Cemetery with a Marine Honor Guard. She worked diligently to get the death certificate from the County so I could file for my life insurance benefits quickly. Peter allowed me to ride with him In their beautiful hearse to escort my husband's body to the committal shelter for the service and made me feel at peace. He arranged it so I could stay in my car after the service and watch them lower his body into the ground. I highly recommend their services, especially for Upland residents.
