The town of Manasquan has been my happy place for years including being a patron of the Inlet Outlet Surf Shop until now. Last week, we purchased women's Sanuks and Quicksilver sliders. At a hefty $36, they seemed to be good quality but after walking in them for a few hours they began to hurt to the point of cutting my toes as you see in the picture below. The pain was so terrible that I almost had to tap out of a corporate 5K. One week after purchasing them, I returned to the Inlet Outlet Surf Shop with the slides and receipt since their receipt policy clearly stated credit would be issued if returned within 30 days. That was not the case for the dour individual at the store who contended that they only take returns if there's a manufacturer defect, emphatically would not listen to my concern, and told me to take it up with Quicksilver, which I will. This formerly happy customer definitely doesn't come first at the Inlet Outlet Surf Shop. I suggest you stay away and purchase elsewhere. read more

Inlet Outlet refers to Manasquan's famous Inlet beach break, which is constantly populated by the long-haired surfer dudes young and old who you will see around town, driving their board-topped trucks. The shop is not huge, but has a reasonably wide selection of clothing, sunglasses, footwear and beach accessories like hats and swimsuits all from the heavies of the surf/skatewear industry -- Billabong, Roxy, Volcom, etc. I like it best for the sale rack in the women's section. Just this Memorial Day weekend I picked up an Obey sundress off the clearance rack for $10, and a nice Ezekial T-shirt dress at half-price for $23. Both earned me compliments when I wore them out. read more

The shop itself is great! Good selections and reasonable prices. The guy Ted who helped us was very nice and extremely helpful. But I do believe it was the owner that was walking around, was not friendly at all. Then when we went to check out the cashier was not friendly at all. Not a hello , thank you or goodbye. read more

I came in the shop last year. I brought along a board I had bought on the internet so they could assemble it for me. The technician was friendly, a vast source of information, put the fins on my board for free, and helped me select a really good leash. (the board came with an el-cheapo, crappy one.) He informed me about the group and private lessons that the shop offers. The shop has a good selection of all things surfing. And I think it is good that they have at least one or 2 experienced surfers in the shop. It's a really great help to us grommets! Honestly, it's that kind of service that would keep me coming back to a place. The gals at checkout could have been more friendly, but my overall experience was great. I hope this business does well. I intend to do more surfing at the famous Manasquan inlet and it's nice to have a shop nearby with people who know what they're doing! read more
