Wow! This place is super clean and the rooms are quite big compared to normal hotels/inns. Everyone was super friendly and hospitable. They had fresh baked goods from a local bakery every morning (Yummy's Bakery/Donuts). They had muffins, bagels, donuts, and such, along with milk, juice and water. They had snacks as well (later on). We were very impressed. My only qualm was the pull out sofa was not comfortable (it needed an additional mattress pad or something. Other than that, this place was fantastic!! It is also just a few min. walk from the beach and close to a cute town with shops and restaurants too! read more

What an incredible weekend we had here. Upon arrival we only had online pictures and descriptions to go by. We frequently visit areas along the Gulf Coast of Florida for short staycations with my family so we have a pretty good idea and know what to expect in places we book for our getaways. The Inn on the beach was above and beyond what we were expecting. The rooms were clean, updated and had everything we needed and more. Not only are the rooms complete with the basics but there is also an ice machine, keurig in the rooms and they provide an outdoor grill, bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels and even a cooler! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect, a stones throw away from the beach. Parking is tight if you have an suv or truck but it works fine. We like this place so much that it will probably be the only place we will stay at on Pass a grill . read more

My first time to Venice, so it was a roll-of-the-dice on picking a nice place to stay. Inn at the Beach did not disappoint. Made the reservation over the phone. I arrived prior to the 3pm check in time & learned they are firm with the time. So headed to the beach, though I could have used the pool. As promised, they called me when the room was ready. I had a king studio, which included a small private patio. It also had a full kitchen. Everything was super clean and was like a cute little cottage. The stay was quiet. The pool is small, but there was ample seating. One of the afternoons I was there, a few children were screaming and doing cannonballs for hours. Every adult, including me, left the area. I know kids need to be kids, but, this was overboard. Honestly, Inn at the Beach, would be better if it were an adults only Inn. Breakfast was all carbs - pasteries, muffins, donuts, etc. You could get power bars to go. I ended up eating breakfast out as I live keto. It wasn't a big deal. Clean, quiet, and right on the beach? You really can't beat this place. My husband booked this Inn as part of our vacation and when we arrived the host graciously upgraded us to the most amazing suite! It was clean, had a small kitchen, and the "living room" being separated from the bedroom was so nice for having some time to ourselves after putting our kid to bed. We loved this this place. It is right across the street from the beach which we went to every morning and every evening to watch the sunset. the help is beyond friendly and helpful and are all normal people. The place might be old but it is clean as a whistle. everything you would need they have including great coffee in the morning. Please, please don't tell many people but if you get the chance book this place. This is coming from a gold Wyndham member who can chose a plethora of places on florida. Booked our stay a few months back, and then unexpectedly, Hurricane Ida came through a few days before we were scheduled to arrive. On the national news, we saw Ft Myers and surrounding communities were literally underwater. This Inn had no email we could locate on their website. We called and called and called for days but could not get through. Finally found their Facebook page and sent a message to them there, no response. Eventually, we arrived in Florida for our vacation and tried to call again and again, still holding onto the hope that they would be open and be able to carry our reservation. We couldn't wait forever, as we never got any reply from the Inn, they never tried to reach us, and they never replied to our Facebook message nor answered the phone, so we booked another place in another city far away. We called again today, and the phone rang finally! We found out they finally got back phone service from the outage caused by the hurricane sometime yesterday. We apologized for their loss of revenue, and we were sympathetic to their plight after the hurricane, certain that it was a hard time for them. However, we expected some sympathy for our plight, too, not being sure what was going on, if the Inn was open or even there still, and if our vacation plans were going to happen. They had ZERO sympathies. The woman we spoke to (I wish I had her name) was one of the rudest humans we have had the displeasure of speaking to in many years. She was VERY nasty to us for even asking for a refund, and she absolutely refused to do so. Curiously, we were surprised at how angry they were that we inquired and aggressively told us to call the agency we booked through but that they would not refund us. Very short-sighted. We travel to Florida a lot. We are loyal to the places we visit. And over $200, this woman decided keeping our money was worth more to them today than losing a customer for life + all of the negative reviews they'll receive from our family this week on the social networks and review sites. Would not recommend, solely because of the terrible attitude this woman had on the phone. read more

My wife and I stayed at Inn at the Beach in September for the 2nd year in a row now - and it is phenomenal!! It's walking distance from Venice Beach, which is beautiful. The front office provides beach gear, too. They also have breakfast each morning and an endless supply of water bottles during the day. The staff is friendly and their maintenance and housekeepers are on top of everything. Our room was very clean, and furnished with everything we needed. They have a pool too, which is especially nice for an evening dip. No negatives. We will stay here again next year, and every time we are in the vicinity. It's home away from home. read more

The staff our outstanding,; friendly, accommodating, wiling to go that extra mile . Location can't be beat. Directly across from beach with free yoga daily and music every night. walk 4 blocks to historic downtown Venice for great restaurant and shops. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Nice Pool and hot tub, ice machine and water dispenser, office/lobby provides complimentary coffee, local pastries, cereal, milk, yogurt, juice, fruit, oatmeal, bagels, etc....from 7-10 every morning. This was our 2nd visit. It was just as amazing as the first. We had a smaller room on the bottom floor with a King bed. There was seating, a microwave and fridge, and dishes and glasses. Plenty of towels and toiletries. We had the pool to ourselves for a few minutes each day. They supply water bottles, microwave popcorn, and fresh and delicious bagels and muffins for breakfast. What a wonderful place. We stayed here with 4 kids ages 17-2. Also had older in-laws. This place accommodated everyone big to small. Front desk super friendly and helpful. My mother in law had knee replacement and couldn't get up the stairs so the manager moved them to another room located on bottom floor. They have chairs, umbrellas, and sand sifters for looking for shark teeth. The beach is a very short walk across the road. We will definitely be visiting here again. GREAT PLACE!!! read more

Wonderful stay here. They have a wonderful location across from the beach. They also have a pool and spa to guest to use. It is walking distance into the Venice retail district. The homes also in the immediate area are wonderful and similar to other beach homes with a relative cheaper cost comparative to say California beach homes. read more

There is daily maid service- nice when the beach is just steps away. The free breakfast isn't much to talk about - but there are numerous breakfast places just a short drive away. Check in was seamless, the room was very well kept and clean, all we did was walk out walk a across the street and what a beautiful beach. The WiFi connection was terrible and sometimes nonexistent. And from what I see in past reviews this has been an ongoing problem that is not being addressed. Stayed here for a wedding this past weekend. The Inn is directly across the street for the beach. As for the Inn itself, it's an older building that has clearly been kept up very well! The parking lot is sort of the centerpiece of the place, which might sound wierd, but it's very nice brick that gives that entire place a "destination" feel. The pool area is also very nice and gets great midday sun. The office area has a breakfast every morning consisting of complimentary coffee, water and milk, bagels, danishes, muffins, donuts, bananas, apples, and cereal. The food and drinks are out all day so you can always stop by to pick up a bottle of water to stay hydrated in the hot summer heat! We had a 2 bed/2 bath suite. The room had a good sized living room area as well as kitchen with dishwasher, full size fridge, microwave, table, and plates/utensils. The bathrooms were good sized, however the shower in one of them was tiny! For 10 minutes of my day though I was totally fine with that. The staff at the hotel is one of the strong points. They're very helpful and polite and go above and beyond for the guests. They'll give you towels for the beach, let you have a late checkout and use the facilities the entire day of your departure. In terms of location, you can't get much closer to the beach. Right across the street you have very calm waters....you can even see your feet in the sand! Overall it's a great place for a relaxing trip. If you have to go to the Venice area and plan to relax a bit on the beach, this is the place you want to stay. read more

The beds were nice and cozy, the room was roomy and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the coffee was extremely hot. I loved watching the sunset from the room, and it's just a short walk across a very small road to get to the beach. We were able to find 5 complete shark teeth and 7 broken ones. I do recommend renting a "Florida snow shovel" from Sharkie's down the coast if you want to look for the shark teeth though, they're hard to find otherwise. The walk to the downtown area is a few blocks in a nice walking path, and decent enough if the weather is right, otherwise there's parking at the Inn and parking downtown that's easy enough if you want to drive it. I would definitely stay here again if going to Venice Beach again. read more

We had a wonderful time at the Inn at the Beach. The rooms are big and the kitchen is just perfect for those that are looking to vacation but want to still cook and not have to eat out while on vacation. The staff has probably the best customer service I have experienced anywhere. They were so friendly and helpful and accommodating. We stayed for 10 days and they made every day so special and made sure we had everything we needed. If I needed something I would call and I think it took me longer to dial than for someone to come bring us what we needed. I highly recommend Inn at the Beach if you're looking for a great hotel in Venice or surrounding areas and you want great customer service this is the place. The only cons I would have to say is that their pots and pans are not the best quality so the food might stick. Other than that a 5! read more

We just got back from a romantic weekend getaway, and we absolutely loved our stay here. First, we got a really good rate for this place through Hotwire, otherwise we never would have been able to afford to stay here. It is true what they advertise,literally the ONLY hotel at Venice beach. While it is technically across the street from the beach, the hotel is located at a corner/dead-end of the road, so this limits the traffic greatly. This place was cute, calm, quiet, and in a great spot. We had a corner room facing the ocean, and while it was a very small room, the design/layout was really well done, and included a fridge and microwave. I should mention though, that the shower was extremely tiny and if you are over 300 lb's and reading this, be aware that this could be a serious issue for you, as it was a tough squeeze for me and I'm well south of 300. The internet worked fine for us and we were able to connect our laptop to the TV via HDMI easily. The breakfast here, while only a continental not a full hot breakfast, was amazing. They had a wide assortment of fresh baked muffins, danishes, doughnuts, etc (no 3 month old frozen crap here!), in addition to granola bars, yogurt, fruit, rice crispy treats, etc. We found it both creative and delicious. The pool was clean and well landscaped. I have two small suggestions for the hotel, though. You have got to find a way to incorporate black-out curtains in the rooms. I realize that it might throw off the island theme to the room, so some creativity might be needed here, but this was really the only issue we had during our stay. Secondly, this is Florida and you should really allow your housekeepers to wear short sleeves (and maybe even capris pants?) as I'm sure it was not their choice to wear long sleeves on a 94 degree day. Overall a great stay and we would love to return again another year. read more

What a find! This is an independent Inn that we found for a spur of the moment get away. It wasn't really fancy, however impeccably maintained. Clean, modern, and the staff was really fantastic.
