We reached the gate around 8pm in complete darkness, with no network service and no easy way to get in. The winding dirt road lined with grapevines felt a little intimidating in the dark, and I have to admit, we were feeling a bit unsure at first. But once we sorted out the gate and settled in, everything changed. The next morning, we headed out for a hike in the forest, and with the sunrise lighting up the hills, we finally saw just how incredibly beautiful this location truly is. What felt a little scary the night before transformed into rolling countryside, peaceful vineyards, and breathtaking views. When we returned from our hike, I began to fully appreciate and fall in love with the entire property. In the daylight, The Pinnacle Inn feels warm, welcoming, and truly like home. We loved our stay. Three generations of us were there -- Us, Our parents, and our teenagers. Phil the Inn's caretaker and his companion Laurie crushed it. Great company, food and wine tasting. The West side of Pinnacles is just 1 mile away. Phil was a former ranger and gave us great tips for hiking as well. It felt more like staying with friends than going to a hotel or Inn. The Inn is gorgeous. Just a mile or so from the park and we had a pool, free breakfasts and wine tasting. Loved it. It was really special and Bill Brosseau makes great wine (son of Inn owners). Jon and Jan, Phil is a keeper! Thanks for sharing your lovely Inn. Pinnacles is very special and we loved our hike. My parents really enjoyed themselves. What could be more relaxing than staying in a clean, cozy cottage in the middle of a vineyard? We were warmly greeted by the owner's daughter and husband. Our cottage was well stocked with a variety of continental breakfast options for our stay. Our 8.4 mile hike of the Pinnacles took a bit longer than anticipated which meant we thought we had missed the complimentary 5 pm wine and cheese hour. But no! Krissy brought a beautiful cheese plate to our room for us to devour post hike. Very kind. The gorgeous views and scent of fresh lavender were much appreciated as well. read more

Wow. The Inn at the Pinnacles is the perfect place to stay near Pinnacles National Park. Gorgeous vineyard surroundings, charming and comfortable suites (with a private entrance and private balcony: great for social distancing), and well-stocked amenities. For dinner, you can bring food and grill (a fridge and private grill is provided) or go out to the restaurants in town which is what we did. We loved El Rinconcito - there's lots of delicious Mexican restaurants in the area. The owners Jan and Jon (the lovely owners who we got to meet while they hosted a wine tasting for guests) have done a fabulous job making the Inn at the Pinnacles the premier place to stay in the beautiful Pinnacles area. We appreciated the information we found in our suite about Pinnacles and the local wildlife, and we had absolutely everything we needed to make coffee and breakfast then head out hiking! Hiking at the Pinnacles was fantastic and we saw upwards of a dozen highly endangered California Condors and while at the park. We will recommend to Inn at the Pinnacles to all our local family and friends, and we're looking forward to returning with our families! read more

This is a staggeringly beautiful location, high in the hills with views across the Salinas Valley to the San Lucia coastal range. We had blue skies for 3 days. And 80F temperatures in mid November. Absence of wifi in the Manzanita room (too far from the main house) meant I had to read the superb information on the vineyards and a fascinating book on the condor history. TMI. Jon and Janet provided an outdoor wine tasting of the wines produced from their grapes. The condors are easy to see at the highest trails of the Pinnacles. This Inn was a terrific base to hike the park. 10 minutes away. Comfortable bed, wonderful deck to watch sunset, moonrise and have breakfast. The querk was a shower system rigged up above the spa tub. I worked it out by the second day  The kitchenette and deck grill were adequate to assemble our two dinners. Continental breakfast and coffee machine are provided. Really great stay on the much quieter west side on the park. A worthy 5 stars. read more

Simply fantastic. The views are tremendous of both the Pinnacles and the Santa Lucia Highlands. It's the definition of remote but that's what you want when you're sleeping in a place with a view of a national treasure. Brosseaus were fabulous hosts. The rooms were well outfitted with water, popcorn, hot cocoa, cookies, chocolate truffles, a coffee maker, microwave, fridge, BBQ, kitchen utensils, WiFi, whirlpool tube, bathrobes and slippers! We had a wonderful discussion over wine and cheese. Jon is a viticulturalist and his son a vintner, so we had a bottle of the Brosseaus Vineyards Red Blend, which was excellent. The bed was a nice queen. The breakfast was very good as well: coffee, OJ, sausages, croissant french toast and fresh fruit. Oh and did I mention this place was spotless? Notes: Verizon gets service. No TV (as it should be). The heater is a faux fireplace. Make sure you have flashlights for the caves but Jon and Jan will probably loan you a pair if you've forgotten them. I mentioned it's remote. 30 min to the closest restaurant and the only thing decent in Soledad is Mexican, so consider bringing things for the BBQ. read more

Imagine spending a weekend in total seclusion on a vineyard - barely any cell phone access, no internet, no TV...none of the usual things that make up your Silicon Valley life. Instead of your hyper-connected home, you are staying in a quaint room with a queen bed, two rocking chairs, a kitchenette and an old-fashion ceramic tub looking out into rows and rows of vines and Pinnacles National Monument in the distance. This is Inn at the Pinnacles. Your hosts, the Brosseaus, are a Silicon Valley couple who decided to buy this vineyard decades ago and convert what was a shack into this ten (?) room B&B. They operate the place in the most homey of ways: - checkin is at their kitchen - the wife makes American breakfast classics every day - if you want to make your food, feel free to bring your slab of meat (purchased from the Foods Co in Soledad) and veggies, and grill it on their grill - most if not all of the food (except the wine!) they serve for breakfast and afternoon cheese and wine is from Costco. - while you chat with them, you get to meet not only fellow guests but also winemakers who pop in to share wine, food and stories This Inn is a mere 4 miles from the western entrance of Pinnacles National Monument. However, because it is in the middle of a vineyard, you cannot depend on Google Maps to get you there. Just follow the directions on the Inn website and know that the last 1/4 mile or so is an unpaved dirt road. read more

The Inn at the Pinnacles is the place to be for a quiet weekend retreat. Especially if you love wine and great food. My husband & I stayed for a weekend and brought our own food to BBQ at night. We ended up with 2 other couples all pooling our food and our generous hosts allowed us to use the big BBQ (all the rooms boast individual gas grills on private patios) on the main deck - it was fabulous! We had a wonderful hike at the Pinnacles Nat'l Monument, spotted a couple of Condors, took photos and painted. Then a relaxing soak in our in-room jacuzzi tub. It was heaven. We were able to swim and my husband played guitar outdoors. At night the hosts, Jan and Jon, provide stellar local wines and cheeses paired with great conversation. We drifed off to sleep to the howl of a distant coyote - pure heaven. Breathtaking views, nearby hiking, and a peaceful atmosphere really make this B & B a wonderful place to stay. My only sadness is that they do not accept pets, and I'd love to bring my little dog, too. Thank you Jan & Jon for a memorable weekend - we'll be back for sure! read more

Let me first start by saying this place is spectacular, the hosts are wonderful, the surroundings are breathtaking and you cannot help but have a great experience here. The Pinnacles are a very untapped spot in California with beautiful and unique vistas and landscapes. The location of the Inn is very remote, although not that far from HWY 101... which is part of the beauty of it. The Inn is hosted by the owners John and Jan Brosseau. This team has the perfect attributes for Inn Keepers; Jan with her great cooking and attention to every detail for the well equipped rooms and pleasurable stay and John with the years of sweat and tears that he has put into the property and vineyard along with the great tales of the area, his family and it's wineries and vineyards. You can tell they are very proud of the wonderful experience that each visitors has. The rooms are very comfortable and stuffed full of details (that show they think about anything you could need) and include the perfect whirlpool tub to use after some great hiking in the park and gas fireplace when the evening chill creeps in. Cooking is left up to you so be sure to bring something to grill and/or microwave. The Saturday evening Cheese and Wine featured their family's amazing wines, cheese and other appetizers and fun conversation and star gazing with our hosts and other great guests. Breakfast could possible be the best we have ever had at a B&B. Served in the spacious breakfast area in the main building with views all around. Again... the details of such things as the plate warmers show they do not spare any expense for the sake of our experience. We did not have enough time to enjoy all the features such as the beautiful pool deck so we will have to be back sometime soon. read more

Attention, this is THE place to stay if you want to stay near Pinnacles National Park. After staying here a few nights over Memorial Day weekend, we now know why it has such great reviews. Our only complaint is we wished we stayed longer. It's a close 10 minute or so drive away to the west entrance, and it's surrounded by vineyards. We stayed in the Manzanita room, which is one of the two larger rooms, and ours had the best sunset views. The large, private patio was perfect for chillaxing after a long days hike, while enjoying a glass of wine, and grilling up dinner. We didn't go in the pool as it was a little chilly, but we did enjoy hanging on the large patio with lounge chairs. Jan and Jon were the most wonderful hosts, and it was a real treat chatting up with all the other guests during the nightly wine tasting. We bought some of their very reasonably priced wine, and after recently enjoying a few bottles, we wished we bought more, they are absolutely fantastic! The gourmet breakfasts were very tasty, and the perfect fuel for a long day of hiking. I don't see why anyone would want to venture into town to dine at a mediocre taqueria, when you can grill up a tasty dinner while enjoying the beautiful scenery, in the comfort of your own room. Plus, driving on that dirt road at night would be a bit scary! They have all the necessary tools for grilling, and they'll even do the dishes for you in the morning, all you need to do is rinse 'em off, put 'em in the bin, and bring 'em up during breakfast. I am ashamed to be writing this review TWO plus years after the fact, but I had such a wonderful time at this place, I don't think memory could betray me. Well, what a blast! The husband and I went hiking at Pinnacles every day and were able to return to our beautiful suite (the Manzanita room) in no time. There were wine and cheese mixers at the main house and breakfast was huge ("A Hiker's Breakfast") and...oh so delicious. Because you have so much privacy in the large, separate suites, I would say this is a great place for both families and couples. The scenery is beautiful (think wine country). Ironically, as I write this, a part of me hopes this "hidden" gem, which is at the foot of another somewhat hidden gem (Pinnacles - seriously underrated!) stays the way it is. But I have to give the owners their due, they do an amazing job and have a gorgeous property. read more

Location, location, location. Our main reason for being in the area was to explore the new Pinnacles National Park. The Inn is only 3 mi from the West park entrance, so we were able to get up early and get to the park and start hiking before the sun got too hot. The breakfast was awesome. We had croissant French toast and spent the entire day hiking and didn't even need to bring a lunch that is how filling it was. The view from the Inn is gorgeous. You can see the Pinnacles from the Inn and the views from the West side of the Inn including sunset were beautiful. I love how they are surrounded by winery grape fields. Makes it feel like you are in Italy. Wine tasting at 5:30pm was fantastic. We bought 2 wines to bring home with us we enjoyed them so much. You can tell that Jan and Jon (the hosts) love what they do. Their goal is to make sure you have a wonderful time. The rooms are lovely. They come completely furnished with a mini frig, sink, dishes etc and a nice gas grill on your own private patio. Our room had East and West views and we could walk right out onto the main patio where we could sit and enjoy the sunset or the afternoon sun. You wont be disappointed in your stay here. read more

Wasn't quite sure what to expect on our first visit and all expectations were exceeded. Jan and Jon were fantastic hosts and even better company. They go out of their way to ensure their guests enjoyed the stay. A quick trip up the road gets you into the park and after a long day of hiking we were thrilled we didn't have to go far to get a nice shower or dip in the pool. Inn at the Pinnacles is lovely, serene, comfortable, and surrounded by stunning beauty. Innkeepers Jan and Jon are welcoming and terrific. We brought our kids and had the place to ourselves, which was unbelievably relaxing. We swam in the saltwater pool, enjoyed beautiful sunsets on the veranda, and lay out under the Milky Way three nights in a row for the Perseid meteor shower. The beds are comfy. The rooms are well stocked. The breakfasts are yummy. We day hiked in Pinnacles (stunning/magical), enjoyed a pool day, and made a day trip to Arroyo Seco campground to play in the river. Arroyo Seco is a 40 minute drive away, but the drive is scenic and the trip worth it, especially during hotter months. Of course, Pinnacles is just 5-10 minutes away. The Brosseau wine is also terrific, and the organic vineyard surrounding the inn is gorgeous. On our way out of town, we also saw a flock (a "tiding") of blue magpies. My wife, two kids (7 & 5) and I decided to make a quick getaway this last President's weekend to see Pinnacles National Park. We all had a fantastic time hiking through the park, with the kids especially enjoying the Balconies Cave hike (flashlights a must!) as well as some "humongously scary but fun" (according to my 5-year-old) railing-assisted steep sections along the High Peaks trail. However we all agree the highlight of our trip were the two nights we spent at the Inn at the Pinnacles. The Inn is just a few minutes from the less congested East entrance to the park and sits on an overlook in the middle of a vineyard and the splendor of the Gabilan Mountains. The hosts Jan and Jon are warm and welcoming and provide a very special experience including delicious breakfasts as well as a convivial and generous social hour featuring wines made from their vineyard. Our kids also heartily enjoyed playing Bocce ball, tetherball, bolaball, and just running around the expansive grounds surrounding the inn. There was plenty of room in our suite to set up a couple of camping mattresses for the kids, as well as to enjoy our dinner that we made on the gas barbecue that is part of each private patio. We're also looking forward to revisiting our memories of this special weekend whenever we open one of the bottles of Brosseau wine that we brought home with us! Thanks again Jan and Jon! read more

I recently visited the Inn at the Pinnacles with 7 of my girlfriends. We had planned on a weekend of hiking and exploring the newest National Park but with the unexpected, crazy government shutdown, all plans changed. Our hosts, Jan and John were so accommodating and gracious that we all ended up having a fabulous time despite the inconvenient shutdown. I expect this place will soon be more difficult to get a reservation, as more people discover the country's newest--recently upgraded facilities and status--National Park, nearby the desirable west entrance. The Inn at the Pinnacles is a very special place. It's breathtaking 360 degree vistas, tranquility, and quietude compete successfully with the expert management of this unique property. This is a very nice place with great views and nice owners. It would be a great place to host a small wedding! It is especially good if you are like me and don't camping and prefer a nice warm bed after hiking. They have barbecues to cook dinner and small refrigerators. My only complaint is that they no longer serve a regular breakfast. You get to have cereal, hard boiled eggs, etc. and juice in your room. That was fine but if you like to chat with other guest at breakfast and get to know people that is less likely and only during the wine and cheese time on Saturday night. I really missed the breakfast part as it is one of my favorite bed and breakfast experiences. All and all it was a positive experience and we will go back. read more

Agreed with Beethoven as far as the atmosphere of this Inn. Very secluded and quiet which was a treat after living in San Francisco on the busy streets. Each room is different which determines the price. We stayed in a room with a fireplace that adjusts as you change the thermostat, a kitchenette stocked for two, a couple of comfortable chairs to enjoy dinner inside in front of the fire place at a fold out table, a queen bed, and a good size jacuzzi tub that had different levels of air jets for a nice relaxing bath (bubble bath soap provided). Each room does have a private patio with a small table for two and a gas grill, where we grilled chicken and heated up some canned veggies in the mircrowave in the kitchenette. The host do provide a wine tasting from their vinyard and neighboring vinyards with cheese as well, this is a time to be able to meet fellow guests and the hosts join as well. When the tasting was over we went back to our room after purchasing a bottle of wine from their wine cellar, and a game of scattegories to play from their chest they have of board games. After enjoying the sunset through the common area patio looking over the vinyard and overlooking the top of the layer of fog in the valley of town miles and miles away we enjoyed the peace and quiet, and was probably the best night sleep we have had in a while. In the morning, the hosts served their "hikers breakfast" of fresh fruits, sausage, and french toast croissants, coffee or tea, fresh juice enjoyed with your other guest in the common dining room. Although this was the first B&B that I've stayed in I can easily give it 5 stars for fufilling a nice relaxing night after a full day of hiking through the Pinncles. read more

We weren't sure what to expect when we set out on our journey to the Inn at the Pinnacles but were very pleasantly surprised. It is a little hard to get to but more than worth the trip. The Bed and Breakfast was really lovely and well-maintained. Each room is fully equipped with a microwave, fridge, and BBQ and also a whirlpool tub. The rooms are really clean and well-maintained and also quite spacious. The rooms are really comfortable. The people running this B & B couldn't have been nicer. They are extremely gracious and friendly without being pushy or "in-your-face". They are very skilled at cooking and hosting-the breakfasts each day were so delicious and very filling. And the wine and cheese near the 90 degree pool is out of this world. In summary, the place was great and the owners are really lovely. read more

Let's set aside for a moment that the Inn at the Pinnacles is basically your only lodging choice for a weekend near Pinnacles National Monument. The Inn is a lovely Spanish/Italian-style sprawling villa with on the order of ten rooms, a pool, a patio, dining room, and expansive views over vineyards to the surrounding mountains and valleys. It's *lovely*. We brought lunch and bbq stuff for dinner with us - an excellent choice, as Soledad would be a hairy drive in the dark and doesn't have much to recommend it (although we did have a good parting lunch at the Windmill Restaurant). The owners are friendly, generous, and interested in their guests. They provided us with a very pleasant afternoon wine tasting (their own grapes) with cheese and fruit and salami by the pool, as well as a delicious breakfast the next morning. WiFi is available but low bandwidth. The rooms are also very nice, spacious, well-appointed, clean, and every room but one has a jacuzzi tub (just the thing after a dusty day). The western gate to Pinnacles National Monument is only a few miles away, and the Inn is only 9 miles from 101. We had a great stay at the Inn, and we hope to return soon! read more
