    Amazing bathroom with jacuzzi tub.
    Amy Z.

I was looking for a place for a weekend getaway when I planned an all-day hiking excursion nearby. Inn at the Shenandoah was beautiful, and the perfect place to relax. Everything was charming, beautiful and historic, and the whirlpool bath was just right after a rough day on the trails. The hostess was very welcoming and accommodating, and made a lovely breakfast taking into account my dietary needs and preferences. I definitely hope to return in the near future!

This is a very good inn. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and were very pleased to be treated as personal guests. Our room was comfortable and cozy with an easy-access outside door, a small TV room, and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi. A homemade breakfast was served every morning with seconds and thirds as requested; the blood orange French toast was to die for! There was plenty of parking available and the inn is located right next door to a very chic restaurant. I happily recommend for any occasion!

They had a common living room for the guests to relax in which had books and board games. There was also an area for 24/7 water, coffee, and tea, and in the afternoon, a baked treat was available. We saw chocolate chip cookies and apple cider donuts. Bonus: There was a mini fridge with seltzer water. Second, we booked the Naturalist for the weekend and it was a wonderful room. The sheets were so soft and comforting. The bathroom was a bit small but had modern fixtures. I don't know what the shower head was, but it was super nice LOL. I could've stood in there forever. Their shampoo, conditioner, and body wash smelled lovely as well. They provide a little lotion tube. So, I'd recommend bringing your own. Third, the breakfast was amazing. Shannon and Joe did a wonderful job making the dining experience wonderful. I really loved Shannon's french toast. Joe was also very attentive to the guests. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience. I would love to visit again someday. The location is also quite convenient. You are walking distance away from many cafes, stores, and restaurants. It was definitely a wonderful weekend to recharge. Highly recommend and grateful that we could spend our anniversary here

Unfortunately, because of our choice of year, we ran into a few problems, all of which were addressed promptly and satisfactorily by the owners of Brookside. And, because of that, we are in position to review several of the cabins! We booked Cabin 9 and battled through crazy DC drivers who freak out over a literal two inches of snow (aside: seriously DC-area, get it together!) Diane in the gift stop called us that morning to warn us of the impending snow and to let us know that if we ended up arriving late, they would leave the key for us under the doormat. Amazing foresight and we really appreciated her call. When we walked into our cabin, the bathroom sink was overflowing and not draining. Turns out the cold winds had frozen the drainage pipes and Cabin 9, being at the end, got the brunt of it. Cece and Bob, the owners, came down immediately and gave us our choice of cabins. We chose number 2, which is a cozy space with a hot tub, angled bed and intimate fireplace area. The second morning, when we were moved back into 9, the water went out over the entire resort just after our morning shower, but by the time we returned to the cabin in the evening, it was fixed. Overall, I liked Cabin 9 best, with its open layout, its great view from the Jacuzzi tub and its numerous skylights. Cabin 2 was cozy and romantic and I liked the layout of the sofa area around the fireplace and the hot tub was pleasant. Both are ideal for a couple, though Cabin 9 has a pull-out sofa and is large enough to not feel too crowded with kids. We also had a peek into Cabins 7 & 8. Number 8 has a full kitchen and two bedrooms and would be great for a family or even the main house for a family reunion. Cece said it is popular for Thanksgiving gatherings. Cabin 7 is a jacuzzi cabin that was intended to be a two-bedroom but instead has a "tub room." If you like privacy for your Jacuzzi it makes sense, however we did not like that each room was separate. The greatest part about the winter? Beautiful snow-covered trees and a partially frozen brook that still babbles underneath it AND the amazing Christmas decorations in each cabin. The usual decor is a bit old-fashioned and flowery, but the Christmas decorations are really fabulous and fun. The restaurant was closed from Thanksgiving until the second week of January. Also, the cabins are really close to 211, which could get noisy in the summer, maybe? But we did not hear much traffic from our cabin, which was next to the roadway. Plus, you can't get any closer to the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park. We hope to return this spring!

Our room was not like the photos (definitely not fully remodeled) or luxurious. The bathroom had new fixtures and vanity but the tub was still old and kind of grimy. The window screen in the bathroom was ancient and hard to open and there were some sort of seeds or insect eggs all over the windowsill there. There were also dead flies in the front window, which could have used a wipe down. We had a 2 queen room and one bad was extremely hard and one was very soft. There were only 3 pillows on each bed so someone only had 1 pillow - not ideal with kids. Two of the towels in the bathroom were nice and 2 were pretty raggedy and thin. The size of the room was fine (only room for 1 small table, no chairs) but there was no additional deadbolt or slide latch on the door and that didn't feel safe, especially after someone tried to put a code into our door at about 11:00 one night. This motel is somewhat cute, cozy and quiet but still seems a bit run down. However, after driving around Luray, I'd venture to say it's the nicest of the roadside motels we saw. It has beautiful views of the Shenandoah's and it's very convenient to town and the park. It wasn't awful but wasn't what we expected. The manager Judy was very nice when she called to confirm our reservation and when I let her know the room smelled smoky. Be aware that not all rooms look like the photo on the website.

Nestled amidst rolling hills just outside of Luray, the location offered stunning panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Finding the B&B was a breeze, and upon arrival, I was immediately charmed by the property's historic character, perfectly complemented by modern amenities. **Comfort and Convenience** The room itself was a haven of comfort. The bed was incredibly inviting, and the ensuite bathroom provided everything I needed. Piney Hill truly goes the extra mile with thoughtful touches - from having spare toiletries on hand (lifesaver alert for that forgotten floss!) to individual climate control - ensuring a perfectly relaxing stay. **The Heart of Piney Hill: Hank, Wiley, and Bob** However, the heart and soul of Piney Hill lie with the wonderful innkeepers, Hank and Wiley. Their warm hospitality and engaging conversation made each breakfast a highlight. Their stories and kindness were truly heartwarming, and I found myself looking forward to these morning chats just as much as exploring the Shenandoah National Park nearby. **Breakfast Fit for Royalty** Speaking of breakfast, it was without a doubt the best food I had on my entire trip. From the melt-in-your-mouth sticky buns to the heavenly French toast and the savory sage-egg-sausage bake, each morning was a culinary delight. **A Must-Stay for Shenandoah Valley Travelers** Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a base to explore the national park, or simply a place to unwind amidst breathtaking scenery, Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast is the perfect choice. Clean enough for park lodges, firm beds and decent quality bedding. This time we stayed in a premium room with two doubles in the pinnacle building right next to the office and the restaurant so very convenient for breakfast. It's west facing so you get the sunset. Room's a good size with a closet/luggage area outside the bathroom, wood flooring, fridge, a small table with two chairs, and there are also two patio chairs outside the door (upper floor has better view on the balcony - ground floor has a grassy lawn area in front). Aircon doesn't seem to be working but room feels pretty cool with the ceiling fan on. WiFi is pretty much nonexistent - it only seems to work in the office where there is a seating area or maybe the dining room. This time also tried the closest trail - Stony Man - a short walk from the lodge.
