I started seeing Dr. Jackie St Cyr at the end of May 2015. When I arrived I was in excruciating pain. I had severe nerve compression caused by large bulging discs in my thoracic spine and coccyx, which ran down both legs. I was unable to sit for more than a few minutes at a time and was limited in all activities. My social life became limited, I couldn't go anywhere without taking a cushion along, I was living on NSAID medication, and I felt imprisoned by the pain. I had pain management epidural injections in the past, but had horrible side effects. Those epidural injections were a last resort for me. I became severely depressed over the limitations as well, however, at the time I was about to throw in the towel and contact a pain management doctor and reluctantly get those injections, a friend told me about Dr. St. Cyr. She shared that her daughter had scoliosis that completely healed with Innate Chiropractic treatment. That piqued my interest and I asked for Innate Chiropractic's information. The rest is history. I am still in the healing process, however, I'm off the NSAID medication almost completely for these symptoms,and I see improvement each and every week. The leg nerve pain compression was completely gone within the first few sessions and the bulging disc pain has greatly improved. I never went for those injections either! I'm able to go out and enjoy more social activities, too. I had gone to other chiropractors in the past, and to my surprise this experience was completely different. No cracking or painful adjustments and ice packs afterwards. Instead the adjustments are gentle. I almost wondered how they could work, but the key is that the adjustments do work! Dr. Jackie and I originally met in the mid 90's. I was a runner at that time training for my first marathon. Unfortunately, an injury stopped me from achieving this goal. I completed a ten mile run and had pain in my hip. I was referred to Dr. Jackie by her sister and, after completing an analysis, she shared with me that the problem was generated by my feet. I was in a unenviable situation with my lower back. Unable to walk, sit and even sleep for more than a month, I went thru various ways to alleviate the pain - physical therapy, oil and massage therapy, acupuncture, herbal anti inflammatory supplements and even was very close to getting a minimal invasive spinal surgery. For the past 6 months, I have been working hard to regain my physical health while being limited by significant instability in my knee. I visited Dr Jackie's office during a meetup group there in the space. I was pretty skeptical -- I'd heard a little bit about Chiropractic spinal adjustments, have friends who go, but had never thought to try it myself. I was the guinea pig for the group. After the adjustment, I felt deeply relaxed. That evening, I slept better than I'd slept in a long time. I jog 4 - 5 days a week, and generally have a little soreness in my hips and sides, but after the adjustment, much of the soreness and pain was gone. I also have a general improved feeling of well being the day after the treatment. I was a bit suspect of the concept of NSA, at first. But, I had heard so many amazing things about it from some pretty credible people, so I tried it. At the time, I had sciatica (really bad) and intense pain radiating from my shoulder and into my neck. The sciatica is gone and my neck still acts up a little from time to time, but it feel pretty good most of the time. I feel confident that my neck pain will go away completely with a little more time (I've been going for less than 3 months.) I'm also sleeping much better since beginning treatment at Innate, and I feel like I'm overall much more balanced (emotionally and mentally.) Dr J and her crew are awesome to be around. I've been a regular client since November, 2011. When I started, I hadn't felt able to travel by air for 5 years, because of back pain. After the first couple of months, I went to Canada - multiple aircraft, with no pain. I made two other vacation trips by air,within 13 months of beginning treatment. Since that time, I've have my ups and downs, and Dr. Jackie has managed to level things out. What I like best is the soft approach, with simple stretches and pressure.
