Sarah Astarte, Ph.D., combining science with spirituality: Intuitive counseling, Spiritual Guidance, Reiki energy healing, Intuitive readings, and Creative Expression (similar to art therapy), Dream interpretation, and goddess psychology. I do individual and couples counseling.
Some of the major areas that I focus on with many clients are: Mind-body connection, love and relationship counseling for individuals and couples, body image, self-esteem, identity formation, empowerment, life transitions, grief and loss, death and dying, diversity and multiculturalism, GLBT identity and issues, and spiritual growth and development.
My practice can be utilized for those seeking support and perspective, who desire healing and empowerment. For those coping with mental health issues, my counseling can be supplemental to clinical therapy as well. I also facilitate rituals and ceremonies such as weddings, baby blessings, memorials, and rites of passage.

History
Established in 2009.
I earned my Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology, M.A. in psychology, and B.A. in psychology with the intention of serving others as a healer with knowledge that would help them on multiple levels- mind, body, and spirit. I began my practice as I was completing my chaplaincy residency at Stanford Hospital, as I wanted to help people outside of a clinical setting as well, and utilize my training as not only a counselor but as a holistic healer. I had been serving the area of the South and East Bay for seven years, and recently made the move to Sacramento, which is, in fact, my hometown. My practice includes individual, couples, and group work, offering classes, workshops, and presentations throughout greater Northern California.
Meet the Business Owner: Sarah A.
Sarah Astarte has a Ph.D. in transpersonal psychology, and an M.A. in psychology. She received her B.A. in psychology and communication at University of California, Santa Cruz. She completed a chaplaincy residency at Stanford Hospital and Clinics,and has worked as a hospice chaplain in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is also a college psychology professor, a diversity trainer, and facilitates events and rituals throughout Northern California. She has worked with clients of various backgrounds, of different religions, cultures, and sex and gender identities. Her first book "The Lover Within: Exploring the Relationship Between Body Image in Adult Women and Archetypes of the Lover" was released in 2010. She also has a blog called "Modern goddess: Being an empowered woman in today's world," and was featured on Spotlite Radio on February 5th, 2014. She is currently working on a book on love-styles.
