Our 16 year old son was dealing with a lot. Transitioning into a blended home, the death of his step mother, a failed first relationship, knowing he was different than the crowd while having deeper aspirations for his future. In short he was struggling and began acting out in a number of ways. Ways not typical of who he is and was as a person. In briefing, our son was headed toward a path of disaster and laced with confusion, frustration, betrayal, trust & love issues and you name it. All while his body is physically morphing into manhood. I mean a complete turn around. I think it took a few months before actually noticing real difference in attitude and his increased optimism with life in general. (Without ANY medications or drugs) our son genuinely was able to work through some key issues he was having because of Ben's work. Ben has been a great coach and therapist to me for the last 4 or 5 months. I had originally been having some challenges with my personal relationship and Ben helped me work through those. He never feels pushy or judgmental, but he can be honest with you and doesn't sugar coat situations which I really appreciate. There is nothing as frightening as watching your once successful, smart, and talented daughter spiral down into a pit of despair. Our daughter, a college athlete, was completely lost after returning home after graduation. Basketball had been her entire identity and transitioning into something other than sports was a challenge to say the least. Couple that with her father's open heart surgery and the death of her grandfather and it was almost too much to bear. I honestly credit Ben for saving my daughter's life and bringing her back to us.
