(I did not see this first hand) As I'm looking through the records he (the owner) starts engaging with another customer about a prospective employer for the customer. You don't wanna work for him. He's an ahole. He's a fn liar. He'll tell you one thing and then do another. On and on. I was right in front of him and said "tell me how you really feel" to which he looked shocked and then concerned that I might know the individual in question. Final straw was when he made a crack about his employee being a lesbian. Of I were her I would've knocked the crap out of him then and there. There are plenty of jobs out there. He had no idea who I was or who I knew. Wrong way to run a business. I will not be back. read more

I live in Santa Cruz CA and have a modest LP collection (5,000). Whenever and wherever I travel, I hit used record stores. I was visiting my mom in Manahawkin in October 2020, as she turned 90. I hit this place once and came back two days later. Both times had the place to myself with the owner. This cat has one of the finest stores I have ever seen. I carry notebooks looking for my top 21, top 100 in about 5 genres. The first day I found 4! this rarely happens! the second comb through, I casually asked him if he had any Dixieland. He knew his inventory, jumped around the counter and placed me in a section to die for. I bought 3 mint LPS from the early 50's and late 50s in this category. I was missing one Kinks lp (Nottingham Hillbilies) and just one more Aretha Franklin.....and sure enough he had them clean and fairly priced. I have been looking for Humble Pie's first two albums and BAM, found a double album of both I did not know existed. I can't wait to hit this shop when my mom hits 91. So glad I flew into Philly instead of North Jersey. read more

The good: a lot of hard to find and rare records in stock. Now the bad: Record grading is extremely exaggerated. I saw a lot of "NM" graded records that had obvious scratches and marks. The owner doesn't even speak to you when you walk in. The prices for these "NM" records are ridiculously overpriced even if they were "NM". Maybe the hipsters and Crosley users will like this shop, but for the real collector go to Jupiter, PREX or Sky Valley. read more

I actually had a great time perusing their store. Kind of strange to see what used to be alternative music in the 1980s and 1990s now considered to be pretty mainstream! Great store! I spend a lot of time in a whole variety of different record stores, and this is one of the best random stop by spots I've ever been too. The prices were reasonable and the selection was top-notch. The owner was super friendly, knowledgeable, and had great stuff. I don't make it to South Jersey very often, it's quite a drive from Vermont, but I've never down here again I will def hit this place up again! read more

You will get to see plenty of variety and actually quite rare pressings here. For the new collector, this is not the place for you. For the knowledgeable collector please pull out everything and check grades. Goldmine grades do not apply. Yes the pressings are rare and I think the level of knowledge you have will affect the treatment. If you know enough to know the grading issues and overpricing you may not be as welcome. Ask for anything to be play tested. And visible scratches can't be vg+ ever. Let alone higher........could be the best store around but I think area has clouded pricing and grading. Inner Groove​ has quickly and without question become my go to spot for records in the greater Philadelphia area. And to date is (in my opinion) the best record shop for used vinyl in all of New Jersey. Just an outstanding selection of vinyl to be found here. Huge selection of QUALITY rock and jazz here. Lots and lots of rarities. This is really the best selection in the region. All other genres to be found here too. And every record that comes into the store here gets a through cleaning and is graded and notated with any special info regarding the record (original pressing, UK pressing, promo copy etc.). Prices are indeed a bit above average. But considering you're getting a well cleaned and graded copy I haven't had to walk away from anything due to the price as of yet. Every trip into the store the owner has been very nice and usually will talk to you about what you're buying. My experience trading in vinyl was pleasant too. I went for store credit as I had my eye on a great LP displayed behind the counter. Store credit came in right around or just under what I thought was fair. No haggle needed. Only knock on the store is that their selection of new release vinyl is a little small. But there are so many avenues to obtain new releases now that it's really just a minor matter of note. If you're in the South Jersey/Philly area you need to check this place out! Just off the Collingswood PATCO stop too. Super convenient! read more

Amazing selection of records, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. As dumb as it sounds, I was floored by the fact that the owner invested in a record cleaner and cleans all of his records before putting them out in the floor. Having purchased a fair share of dusty and ragged records, it does mean a lot when someone cleans records before selling them. The record looks nicer, sounds nicer. Can't get any more simple than that. Perhaps someday, I will have a couple thousand bucks to invest in a VPI executive pro deluxe record cleaner, but until that day comes, I will remain humbled that there's some proprietor out there that cares enough about a used product to clean it for resale. It also doesn't hurt that the owner is super nice and courteous and willing to listen to my ranting ass for longer than 5 minutes! read more

Yes yes YES. This store is predominantly rock and jazz with smaller sections for new music, punk, reggae, etc. It's so satisfying to flip through the records here: great selections at great prices; huge dollar bin section; informative labels stuck on the plastic sleeves and NOT the album covers. What more could you ask for? This place is a win. Your afternoon might disappear in here (especially if you sift through the dollar bins). Check this place out. My only complaint and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that many records are scratched up (Even if rated as NM), so I would definitely inspect and play before you purchase. Awesome new find. The owner of went above and beyond to make me feel like I was at home. He showed me the layout of the (recently new) shop and everything was very organized and clean. His prices are very fair, condition of records great, and his selection covers many different genres. I recommend a trip there as soon as possible. This was from a last minute trip heading back to Philly on 2/12/15 (Thursday) and it was close to closing time and he kept the place open :) I found everything from rock to comedy to old school rap! 45s, tapes, CDs, and lots of vinyl!! read more

A really great record store! The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly...no attitude which I really appreciate. Records are categorized and easy to go through. All records are also in plastic outer sleeves which are stickered with information such as quality ratings, pressing info, etc. and all are CLEAN! Nice selection for a fairly small space. Prices are pretty fair as well. You can definitely find some gems here. More record stores today could take some lessons from this place. Worth the trip and the time.
