I have an eight-year-old daughter who was dealing with some every day fear issues. Katie and my daughter worked through some of those issues while I was in the room. So the last thing I am is one of these "woo woo: people -- into alternative medicine, checking my "shakras", meditating, in touch with my inner self.... just not me. So when I first met Katie at a business event, I thought, "Oh, that's nice that she helps folks through hypnosis, but not my thing". Katie- Just arrived at sons home in Palm Desert about 3 hours ago. I had listened to my relaxation tape 2 times this past week and slept like a baby last night. Usually before a flight if I can sleep the night before I end up waking up in the early morning hours and not able to fall back to sleep because I begin worrying. Could not believe how relaxed I felt heading to the airport. Sitting around waiting for boarding I was much more engaged in my conversation with my husband and in a great mood. Flight was so much fun! Never enjoyed a flight more. There was plenty of turbulence they even had to turn the seatbelt sign back on a few times and it didn't bother me at all! When I first came to Katie's office, some six weeks ago, for the free initial consultation, I didn't know quite what to expect. Please Read all of this I know it's long. I never wrote a review before, but I hope my experience will help others. I called Katie Ramseur at Inner Pathway Hypnosis for my fear of flying. I Thought hypnosis was crazy but I had nothing to lose. I had a really bad experience about five years ago where a small plane I was on almost crashed. Ever since then getting on a plane was almost paralyzing to me. I have to fly so avoiding planes was not an option for me. I thought about my flight weeks before I had to go and started getting panic attacks. I would get Sh**tfaced drunk and have enough courage to get on the plane. Even then I would get on the plane and pay attention to ever bump and sound thinking the plane would crash. I tried drinking, listing to music loudly, playing video games, and holding my husband till I cut off his circulation. After totally freaking out on a layover in St. Louis, MO from Florida to Portland I decided to try hypnosis. I called Katie a week and a half before my next flight and she explained a little bit about the process. She offered me a free consultation, but I decided with only a week and a half before my next plane ride I would make an appointment and just go for it. It would either work or be a waste of time. She was very flexible and made every effort to work with my schedule which was great. I don't open up easily, but she made me feel very comfortable on our first visit and after our session she told me she thought I could benefit seeing her two more times. I made two more appts, one a couple days later and one a couple days before my flight. Katie was wonderful, she talked to me so that she could understand my situation thoroughly before trying to hypnotize me. She recorded the sessions and mailed them to me to listen to between visits as well as giving me other exercises to help me before my trip. I tried to do all the things between visits she recommended. Before boarding my flight I was nervous and had a couple drinks,I didn't think the hypnosis session actually worked, but while on the flight I was calm, not sacred. I even looked out the window, something I couldn't do for years. Getting off the plane I cried in my husbands arms because I was so happy not to be terrified. On my return flight I was able to listen my ipod and fall asleep for a bit instead of having a two hour panic attack. I thought hypnosis was some crazy voodoo stuff for weirdos, but it was real therapy, please give it try. If you have a phobia you have nothing to lose. Katie called me to see how I was after my flight. She really cares about the people she helps, you can tell that from the very first meeting with her. Katie is great! The short story is that Katie absolutely helped me fly in comfort and be more at ease in day to day life.The long story is that about 10 years ago I started having panic attacks on planes. This spilled over into almost all social situations. I developed generalized social anxiety.My experience was that I had a combination of claustrophobia/fear of being trapped and also a fear of people around me. It made flying hell, if I did get on a plane without going catatonic first.I was prescribed Lorazepam and that worked well for some years until it didn't. Lorazepam depresses your central nervous system without any other noticeable effects. When you take enough of it you can feel it causing you to be almost too relaxed and low energy, it's not terribly fun. My panic and anxiety issues had broken through the Lorazepam wall. No matter how much I took I was still feeling massive waves of panic washing through my body.I had to find something else. I'd already been going to a therapist but it had not been nearly enough.My partner found Katie's website and I booked an appointment. Four sessions later I flew to the UK on my longest airline flight ever with little to no issues. On the return flight I was up near the galley and started talking to the stewardesses about my experience, about the tools that Katie had taught me. They were appreciative because they have to deal with people panicking on planes regularly. The stewardesses were impressed enough that they gave me a congratulatory/thank you bottle of champagne! I'd helped them because of what I'd learned and in turn, they have undoubtedly gone on to help others who have troubles when flying.Katie is absolutely warm and friendly and nonjudgmental. She's understanding of all situations and will really listen to you no matter how insignificant you think your problems are. She has multiple tool sets she can use and is constantly working to improve those tools/techniques through education and study.She's not some sort of charlatan doing parlor tricks during half-time. She's truly a therapist with an innate love of helping people solve real, tough problems in their lives.I'll absolutely go back to see her again when the need arises. read more

I had a pretty incredible experience with Inner Pathways. I had some concerns about going to a hypnotist, but because of the authenticity and compassion that Katie brings to her work, I found myself feeing comfortable right away. I came to see Katie out of desperation. I had been binge eating on a daily basis for the past 15 years and after trying therapeutic interventions and diet changes, I still found myself trapped in this behavior pattern. Surprisingly, after 3 sessions with Katie, for the first time in 15 years I haven't engaged in binging behavior in 2 weeks. I feel like working with Katie has empowered me to make changes in my life that I never thought possible.
