At 5:15 I call him and ask what is going on. He is very apologetic and saying "oh man" several times and starts talking about how bad the traffic is but says he can be at my house by 6 PM. I'm a little upset, but I agree to wait until 6 and meet with him. 6 PM comes by. . .and nothing. At 6:30, now two hours after our original appointment and 30 minutes after he just told me he'd be there a little over an hour prior, he's still not there. I call again, and he just starts saying "oh man" over and over again, and mumbles something about traffic being bad. He says maybe he can be there a little after 7 PM. No. I said no. This was April 12. He quoted $20,000 to take drain way around back yard for dispersal. I said I just wanted french drain length of front of house with run-off to the side. He then quoted $7500 for this but said he had to get back to me to be sure on cost of materials. Said he would contact me on April 14th to firm up price. No problem. Fast forward to April 21st, What's up Dave still no estimate? Told me he was waiting on pricing from his supplier because of the Trump Tariffs. Funny thing is, the materials used for this project are gravel, dirt, perforated plastic pipe and a shovel which can all be purchased in the US all day, every day at any landscape supply shop. Fast forward until today, June 5th, still no call, text, or email. Please don't allow him to treat you like he has treated me. Luckily I was able to get another company to complete this project perfectly for $2500. They never, ever, clean off patio stepping stones, or sunroom stepping stones, dirt and debris left by the fast lawn mowers, and they never, ever clean off our patio nor our neighbors. I've had to get in the car and go find them to come back, though I wait till the end of the day thinking they will come on their own, or I've had to call and they still don't come back until a day or two later. I'm not the only one perturbed by this, as we are an older generation that live out here and cannot do the work ourselves. We pay for their work and they never finish. We called twice last week, to please clean up...and they never came back. There have been times when they ride the riding lawn mowers standing up so fast, there are times they literally miss areas of the lawn out front, and you can really see it. Stopped of overgrown grass. They really truly take no pride in their work. They just worry about getting it done as fast as they can. They barely give the front door area. Oh look at a split and then they leave. We have tried several times to go out and catch them before they leave the area, to please clean off the patios and the stepping stones where the mowers leave grass and debris. The grass this past week was so bad thrown up by the mowers into the flower bed and stepping stones, you literally could not tell where the stepping stones were. But all they know is, they don't speak English and keep going If this company is going to hire worker, they need somebody that can communicate with the residents. Or at least have somebody out here with them to make sure the job is done right. Some are quite upset and we're thinking at the next HOA meeting we're going to ask them to please find another lawn service, someone that does the job and FINISHES it. They take no pride in their work and do as little as they can to collect a paycheck.
