One of my favorite places to eat at Armature Works. We originally came here with a group of Yelpers. During that outing, I got food from Surf and Turf (which I highly recommend). One of the other Yelpers, Dave W., got the Roast Porchetta from here. He raved about it. Enough so that when I brought my dad here for dinner I stressed that he should try the Roast Porchetta, which he did. I got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. We also tried the potato salad and parmesan garlic chips. Everything was superb. You can really tell that they make their own meat. The meat was absolutely delicious. I couldn't try the porchetta since I don't eat pork, but my dad said it was fantastic. I also appreciated how they absolutely doused the chips in parmesan. It was the perfect amount of cheese for me. They have a good selection of sandwiches. This is definitely going to be one of my go-to spots when I come to Armature Works! read more

This food chain is found by Tampa Metropolitan Ministry. They train the homeless to be self sufficient and transitioning out from homeless. Any bit contributions or buy the food is for the greater good. My review for the food stand is not because of the charitable contributions they have. Just the food and service. They are a unique sandwich store. My friend order a porchetta and it look really good. So I order one for myself. I search what is porchetta. It can be done many way. Some has the Pork Belly outwardly and pork lion inward. This store probably use only pork lion when I saw they display the porchetta. Nonetheless, they are delicious. For the sandwich alone, it is five stars. The melted cheese, the crust edge, and the veggies was perfect harmony. I also like their home made pickle cucumber. The only thing is my dish missing a chip while friend has it. The wait can be improved if they can text us if the food is ready when this is giant food court. read more

When I see porchetta available, I must try it and today I was not disappointed. This moist porky, herbal, savory yet crunchy goodness makes the best sandwich ever and Inside the Box delivered! Complete with pork cracklings, this sandwich made my day. I also got some chips which where nicely homemade but needed a healthy dose of salt and fresh cracked pepper to complete the taste sensation. I love the idea of this place and what it stands for but something is always wrong every time I get food from here. I always get a wrap and hope that it will be better than my previous experiences but it never is. The wrap I received today was wet as if someone dipped it in water before putting ingredients inside of it. I had to pour the ingredients out of the tortilla for the wrap to even be edible. I always return hoping the next time will be better because I love what inside the box stands for. The girls working in the front are so nice and always so welcoming too. read more

All I can say is YUM! I def made the right choice with this place! While lunching with coworkers we had such a large choice of restaurants. I chose Inside the Box because I knew we were having a large dinner so wanted to keep lunch light. I opted for the Apple Salad due to the amazing ingredients. It did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious! Inside the Box is located in Armature Works. They have a a wide selection drinks, sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, sweets, and even flowers ( not to eat of course) ! For My sandwich I ordered the Leg of Lamb. It was made with fresh ingredients which made it very tasty and pleasant. Warning you will need many napkins since it has a great portion of lamb, greens, feta which makes everything betta! And hummus. With the sandwich comes homemade pickles! Just have to say wow! I could look at a store bought pickle the same way again. It had a slight kick but doesn't burn. They had several pasta salads that looked delicious I wanted them all but I settled for their one with orzo then I added feta cheese! Couldn't get better then that. All in all a great place for lunch and I'm very glad to come across this place. I love fresh and "real" food and this place gives just that. read more

EDIT: This is for the location inside the Armateur Works! So far we've ordered sandwiches and salads here and they have all been very good. The price point is slightly high for salads and sandwiches, but this is no subway, for sure. They are fresh, good quantity, with quality ingredients and definitely worth noting they are gourmet. Why 5 stars? Because it's such a great cause! --- --- --- Proceeds from every sandwich you buy goes to feeding the hungry of Tampa Bay. Freaking awesome. But in terms of the food - they have some very unique sandwiches. They are not going to remind you of Subway or Firehouse. Truth be told, I didn't totally love my sandwich, but I'll blame it on some kind of weird cheese. I loved the bread though! And the homemade chips. And the cookie. Those components were top notch. This place just has that fresh and healthy look to it. They have a little store section connected to there sandwich spot where you can get some organic looking things prolly. Next to that is a table with some sweats. If the line is long at the counter you should know that the person at the register at the desert table will also take your order for sandwiches. The sandwiches here are pretty yummy. The meats and cheeses are displayed by the counter. I sure you can buy by weight here if you're into fancy meats. The menu has a couple of good sounding sandwiches. Im not one to get what other people are getting but Prosciutto sandwich looked and tasted great. All in all this place was yummy. Not sure why its called "In The Box"....guess you'll have to go there yourself to find out. read more

Holy Crap It Was So Good! And I am not loose with my compliments. There are only a handful of places in Tampa that I think are worth your time, but this was delicious! I had the lamb sandwich. I was really excited about the english pea spread. The spread was unfortunately disappointing, but the Lamb was delicious, and SO TENDER! The arugula on it was amazing REAL SPICY ARUGULA! Everyones sandwiches looked beautiful and seemed to have REAL greens on them, not bagged crap. I can't wait to come back to support this place. I hope they keep up the quality as demand rises. I'll admit - I went into Armature Works with an agenda. As soon as I saw one of the vendors was part of Metropolitan Ministries programs, I knew that is where I was eating. I had a moment of pause at the pricing, but did note that all the meats are house roasted, smoked and cured - which is a lovely touch. For my next visit, I have an eye on the lamb or smoked salmon but for a first visit, I had to go with my tried and true favorite - turkey. I went with the smoked turkey which combined amazing meat with Havarti, spicy cucumbers and spinach. As you can see, it was a monster sized sammie and every bite was delicious. I added chips and a drink. The chips were not super crisp and a little overly toasty. I think next time I might go for one of the deli salad options. Overall, so good and I was thrilled to have an opportunity to support an organization doing meaningful and life changing work here in Tampa bay. read more

Yes, I have been to the location downtown & no problems. This location, far surpasses downtown in cleanliness, compotrentworkers on the line, & food quality. Today I got a #2, 1/2 a roast beef, bacon, red pepper sandwich, with 3 sides. First the sandwich was medium rare roast beef with red peppers, sautéed onions , coleslaw & a sundried aloi mayo, totally delicious. The broccoli slaw, had heads of broccoli, pumpkin seeds, onions & much more. It was not overdressed and was a healthy serving. My second side was fresh fruit, full of mellons, strawberries & grapes, all fresh. The last was homemade potato chips, you picked the flavor & they incorporated it all together. Initially it can be a bit difficult to find, but once you do, you will be back. Sandwiches, soups, salads, sides, sweets... everything fresh & calling you back. What's a girl to do? Being a huge fan of armature works and everything in it, I was hyped to purchase gorgeous flowers from this shop. A great little shop with cute items but seriously lacking in customer service. The person checking us out, who seemed to be the manager or owner (white middle age man), completely skipped us in line, and acted as if we were stupid when we were confused about it. Furthermore, while this is not as important as the customer service issue, they sloppily wrapped their overpriced flowers. Whilst I will happily pay a little extra for a local business's flowers, I do expect for them to be wrapped nicely when you are paying 15 dollars for 3 flowers. read more

This is the first time I tried Inside the Box. I was so impressed with their desserts. All their mousses are so light, creamy, not too sweet. Their white chocolate macadamia cookies are the best, cookies is very fresh, buttery, but not over sweetened. I really like their sandwiches and side pickles as well. Located on the first floor of a Westshore office building next to the Penthouse Club. Pull around back, park and it will be located on your right as you enter the building from the rear. The side salads are all fresh, creative, and tasty (I'm a particular fan of the fire-roasted edamame salad) and the cookies are top-notch! Service is friendly. Not sure about the parking situation. The first time I walked, and the second time I wound up parking in the back of a hotel parking lot across the street since I wasn't sure if the garage was open to the public or just workers in that office building. read more

In the Westshore area, sandwich choices are pretty limited. NOT SO HERE! The wide range of inventive, so very fresh food, is phenomenal. You can't eat a #3 box. I had it for dinner, too. Seriously a hidden gem! Food quality, variety and price are amongst the top reasons to give this place a shot. I've had the Cuban Breakfast sandwich here previously and it hit the mark. I try to avoid this place because of the way the manager treats his employees. The last time I was there I was waiting in line after ordering and the manager started screaming at the top of his lungs at one of girls that works there. She was bringing food out to a customer and he yelled from the kitchen for her to get back and hurry up what she was doing.
