Every bridal magazine/book says to prioritize what you want for your wedding day. Well we wanted to prioritize photography and videography because being the practical couple that we are, we knew that those would remain long after our wedding day. I'm a little bias because Josh is a close friend to both me and my husband, but I was still blown away by the work that they did! I had no idea that Fisheye was so talented! -Very professional. On time for appointments, calls you back promptly (which for some reason in the wedding industry is very difficult for some vendors). -Easy to work with. Although they are very professional, these guys are hilarious. A bride on her wedding day is very impressionable to different demeanors, but Josh and his crew really put my nerves to rest. While taking pictures and doing shots, they were so easy to get along with, talk story, and crack jokes. -Pretty pricey, but as the saying goes: you get what you pay for. The quality was unmatched. I was so impressed by the same day edit! -Vision, Fisheye was able to catch the essence of our story. Also, when we took our engagement shoot, Michael had a really good eye for capturing creative photo ops. He let us take the crazy, wacky, cliche pics we wanted, and suggested some really great others as well. My first interaction with Fisheye Studio was actually at my good friend's wedding in Hawaii. I was in her wedding party, so I saw firsthand how involved and dedicated the videographers were in capturing every moment, no matter how small. Then, when it came time to watch the Same Day Edit, I was blown away by the authentic way they were able to capture the raw emotions of the day. They so quickly pieced together the bride and groom's story in such a captivating way. Even though I lived in California, I knew that these were the only videographers that I wanted at my own wedding. I got married at the historic Mission Inn in Riverside, California on June 18, 2011. They were so flexible and enthusiastic to make my day incredibly special. I liked that they took the time to get to know my husband and me as well as our relationship. You could tell that they incorporated our personalities and style in our wedding video, which I loved. I would have begged Fisheye Studio to capture our wedding day if I had to! I searched high and low for just the right style of videographer for our wedding and as soon as we saw their videos online, we knew they were right for us. I contacted Joshua Fair, the Director, via e-mail very early on in our planning to inquire about their services. I was immediately impressed. Joshua was so friendly and warm in his e-mails with us. We live in Minneapolis and were married on Maui, so it was important that our vendors be easy to work with because we were so far away. Fisheye is located on Oahu, but they offer the option to travel and I was so thrilled that they were available for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, Joshua and Michael were at our hotel bright and early and welcomed us with big hugs. Joshua stayed with the girls as we got ready and Michael filmed the guys. I didn't even notice Joshua was there the majority of the time. They were easy to work with and they kept the mood light throughout the day. Every single one of our guests commented that day, and the days following, how impressed they were with the videographers. They were so unobtrusive. Also, there is not one shot where you can see someone that doesn't belong (i.e. photographer, wedding planner, etc). As part of our package, we had a "day after" shoot. This allows them to get some cool shots that we couldn't do on the day of the wedding (for fear of getting my beautiful white dress dirty!). The day after the wedding, Joshua and Michael picked us up at 8 a.m. and we were off to get some really amazing shots. They took care of everything and picked out the perfect location. We were sad when we had to say goodbye because we wished we could have spent more time with them on our vacation! They had to leave that day to go back to Oahu, but Joshua made a special trip back to Maui a few weeks later to capture some of the landmarks and beauty of the island to include in our video. Wow! Fisheye Studio does not describe themselves as videographers, but rather as cinematographers and it is clear why. Cinematography is so much more than just setting up a video camera on a tripod. It is a skill of putting the different shots together to tell the perfect story of us as a couple, to show how we were feeling in each moment and to include every detail of our perfect day. They have top-of-the-line cameras, the best editing equipment out there and their eye for detail and their way of capturing all of the little moments is truly unique. The work they do is second to none and that was clear in our final videos. My husband and I were at a loss for words when we saw our videos for the first time. One of our favorite things was the song selections, which is left up to Fisheye. We had a reception at home a few months after our Maui wedding and we were able to share our day with family and friends who couldn't be in Hawaii with us. Everyone was just in shock when they saw our videos turned out. They had never seen anything like it. We have watched our highlight and full-length videos numerous times and we have even kept in contact with Joshua since our wedding. We are so happy they were there to capture our special day and we would recommend them to anyone. Confession: I am a wedding video junkie. I first learned about Fisheye wedding photography from the Wedding Cafe and proceeded to watch ALL of their public wedding videos. When I started planning my wedding, I knew fisheye would be my vendor. One wedding later, I couldn't be happier with the product, but it's the experience of working with the fisheye team that really sticks with me and sets this company apart from the rest. Three things that I appreciate about working with fisheye. 1. They embraced and honored us as a couple. The first time I met up with Josh and Michael, they gave my fiance and I a questionnaire to get to know us. I adore those weddings and videos where the groom gushes over his bride emotionally and verbally during the event...but that's not my groom. My groom leans hard on humor. He claims to only have cried due to hitting his hand with a hammer. I secretly worried my day wouldn't be as easy to capture the meaningful moments. The Fisheye team nailed it. There's this one clip that sticks out to me of us secretly practicing our first dance in a corner and he was making me laugh. Those are the sweet moments where my man shines. Fisheye captured it. 2. They honored our story and took a few adventures with us. Something that was important to me was getting married in a Catholic church. We chose to do this before the celebration with our family. I didn't think they would be able to capture both events but without asking Josh told me "this is part of your story and we are going to be there". We combined it with our engagement shots and honestly those are probably my favorite memories from our wedding event. Also, Michael trusted me when I drove him out to some old abandoned ruins for an engagement background. Again, some of my fav shots of the whole event. 3. They captured all the details I wanted and more. My wedding was very DIY so naturally I wanted all that hard work to be captured (which they did). But also, they caught some beautiful things that I was quick to overlook. At the church wedding I made a cake. It tasted delicious but looked...well...less than professional. I found Michael taking a picture of it. When I asked why he said he just loved the texture of it. When I looked again, something that I had written off as ugly, took a whole new look for me. It's small and silly but that's another beautiful memory. That picture makes me smile so much. Long story short, Fisheye was my favorite vendor from my wedding. We hired Fisheye Studio based on a recommendation from our wedding photographer, who had worked with them in the past on weddings in Hawaii. They are very professional, and very personable- great, easy going group that made our wedding day fun and memorable! The team at Fisheye made is incredibly easy to plan the big day with, as they always responded to emails in a timely manner, and had a timeline for the day. They worked extremely well with our other vendors in order to ensure they got all the key shots for both our wedding highlight and full film. At first we were hesitant to spend the extra money on a videographer, but after seeing some of their previous work, we knew that it was well worth it! Since our wedding, I have watched our wedding video nearly 30 times and each time I have been more and more impressed with their editing skills. We have shown our friends and family our wedding film, and nearly everyone has said it looks like they are watching an actual movie. Where do I even begin! I was first introduced to Josh Fair and Fisheye through my friend. Me and my then fiancé were getting married in August of 2018, and were looking for someone to capture all of the special moments of our day. We live in Canada, and were getting so discouraged as all of the other videographers we saw looked the same, and we didn't feel like they would give us what we were looking for. The moment we were introduced to Fisheye and viewed their online films we knew that they were completely different! I spoke with Josh on the phone, and he was so friendly, kind and helpful I immediately knew we would be in good hands. I went to work on my fiancé to convince him we needed to hire Fisheye, showed him the countless wonderful stories they have on their website, and won him over! My now husband has said countless times how happy he is that we went with Josh and Fisheye! We are beyond impressed with our wedding trailer, feature film, and were so impressed and touched by how they captured the ceremonies and reception. The place we got married is in the middle of nowhere Canada, a beautiful location in the mountains in BC. They even secured a third person in the area to ensure that we captured all the details of our day! They were so positive and excited to work with us on capturing our wedding, we felt throughout the process that they were more our friends than a videographer! Once they were here, they were so amazing to everyone they met that they impressed not only us, but all of our family and friends. We had so many people come up to us and comment on how sweet and kind they were! We had two ceremonies, a traditional Pakistani ceremony, and a western wedding ceremony and they made sure to include the significance of both ceremonies equally on film. Our officiant turned off the microphone in the middle of our ceremony, and they were still able to perfectly capture our vows and all of the emotion! It's amazing the attention to detail, the quality of video and sound, and the feel of a real movie!   The team came to our rehearsal dinner even though they were exhausted after a day of travel, and made sure to scope out the area and spend time with us as we walked them through the timeline for the wedding. The morning of our wedding they showed up bright and early, and were so easy going and easy to work with they really calmed everyone's nerves around them! They really went above and beyond, even making sure to secure backup equipment. We are just starting to share our film with family and friends now, and everyone who has seen it so far has been floored by the quality of the film and the emotion and moments they captured. We already have friends who are getting married asking about Fisheye, and we recommend going nowhere else! They are completely different, and really care about making your story special. We planned a Hawaii destination wedding and booked all vendors by viewing their websites. We were drawn to Fisheye Studio's videography style. We emailed and spoke over the phone to discuss details. If I could give 6 stars to Fisheye, I would! We were married in Kapalua in Maui in May 2016 and I still watch our wedding film each month to relive that special day. We do admit that the hardest part about having a destination wedding so far away was that many special people in our lives were unable to attend. We searched long and hard to find the perfect fit for our big day and after watching several wedding day films by Josh and his team, we knew they were the ones! After we selected Fisheye, Josh was great about communicating with us via email/phone to better understand our vision and what we wanted. We met Josh before our rehearsal dinner where he already had shot some amazing drone shots of the ceremony site and the Maui landscape. My husband and I immediately clicked with him!
