Turning a Supercharger stop between Los Angeles and Las Vegas into a gourmet coffee shop is a welcome addition to the options available. Inside, everything is new and clean (including the public restrooms). They have three huge self-service screens for placing your order, plus a couple of baristas standing by to answer any questions. I went with a large Iced Honey Oat Latte for just under $9--a bit on the high side for a 20 oz craft latte, but I love trying new places and decided to go for it. I was intrigued by the soda-can-like cups for their cold drinks, so I had to try one. I planned to drink it later, but they don't let you adjust the ice. You have to take it as it comes, ice and all, which is unfortunate--by the time I got around to it the next day, there was quite a bit of water from the melted ice. Still, the drink itself was good: rich coffee flavor, lightly sweetened with honey, and a creamy, thicker consistency from the oat milk. I wouldn't drive specifically to Baker just for a cup of their coffee, but if I'm passing through, I'd definitely stop. read more

Our friend mentioned this new coffee shop on the way to Vegas, so we stopped to check it out on our way home. It is located in Baker, right down the street from the Alien Jerky shop that we always stop at. We pulled into the parking lot, and it was empty. Walked up to the doors to find them locked, with a sign that said the drive-through and restrooms were open, but the inside seating was closed. We went in to the side door to the restrooms, and sure enough, the front counter area was blocked off so that you could only get to the restrooms. There was a worker standing at the door to greet us and asked us if we had any questions about the menu. She also advised us that only the drive-through was open for service. I did take a picture of the inside seating. It's a shame it was closed, because it would have been nice to sit there and enjoy our drinks in the AC before heading back out on the hot roads. Ok...the real questions. How was the coffee? It was good. We ordered a couple of different drinks. A couple latte and a couple ice teas. All of them came in the cool looking can that were sealed with ice in the drink? You shake them up and pop them open like a soda can. Very unique. I don't think I've ever seen something like that. As I said, the drinks were good. A little on the pricey side for the size of the drink. But we were on vacation, so you tend to overlook those things. Overall, good stop and yes I would come back again if we are driving by. Staff was friendly and the service was pretty fast. read more

Insomnicup is adorable. It's large, clean and very easy to navigate. There are large screens to place your order but the staff is very friendly and offer to help if you need it. I ordered a mango black tea, it was refreshing and delicious and they seal it like a can and it was then I realized how easily entertained I am. The bathrooms are bright and clean and so much better than anything else in Baker. If you are charging at the Tesla station in the parking lot, Insomnicup is an oasis in the literal desert. read more

This was a great stop for a quick caffeine fix going to Vegas from LA. It's also nice that they have a drive thru. The building was fairly brand new and they have workable restrooms for those that need it from their long drive. There's Tesla chargers right next to it for those that need a charge, as well. We got a cold brew and matcha latte. We love how the drinks are given in a can-like cup! So convenient for driving and super unique. The flavors of both drinks were okay. I would give them 5/10. My husband and I stopped in Baker on a drive back to San Diego from Las Vegas where we noticed this new coffee drive through so we decided to check it out. It's located right next to the Tesla supercharger stations. We ordered an Iced Hazelnut Latte and a concha through the drive through and got our order fairly quickly as we were the only car in the drive through at that time. The latte came in this really cute can that you can tell they assembled onsite (as the ice cubes were inside) and they heated up the concha so it was extra tasty. The prices were on the steeper side (the latte was almost 8 dollars) but I guess the presentation matched the price. read more

We came going into Vegas and coming back from Vegas, they don't open until like 10/11am and so when we got there about 9 were a bit disappointed, figure a coffee spot would be open a little earlier.On the way home, we were able to come in but were told can only use restrooms but shop is only doing drive through, we were trying to relax from a long drive so a little disappointed in that. The ladies working were friendly and apologized it was drive through only. We ordered 2 coffees and came out to about $20 each drink was about $7-10 and if you add in shots for $2 or syrups for .25*, we ordered a cold brew and an americano, we added some cream and sugar free vanilla. Waited a decent amount before receiving and when we got back on the road tried them and it was ok. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but we know what these should taste like and we weren't impressed by it, especially paying $20 for it. So our big truck could not fit in the drive thru so we tried to enter through the front but there was a sign that said no entry only through drive thru. But the kind employee opened the door for us and took our order. When we ordered it didn't take long and she even explained the cup sizes. We got two iced vanilla lattes LARGE with one chocolate croissant. The coffee taste like homemade instant coffee (Folgers) Sorry not sorry. And then my friend found a small ball of foam in their coffee. The chocolate croissant had zero chocolate flavor and was dry and super flakey.
