I had initially contacted another doula in Flintstone, GA, but she was booked solid and sent me to Amy at BirthRite. What a blessing! Amy helped my husband and me have the calm, natural, joyous birth experience we wanted. When we first met, I was immediately struck by her soothing nature. I felt assured that no matter what we decided to do - even if I chose to get an epidural at the last minute - she would support our every decision. I'm glad to say that I didn't need any pain meds, because Amy comforted, coached, and massaged me through my rather long labor. She was wonderful with the hospital nurses and our OB, too. I guess natural childbirth is pretty rare at Erlanger East and frankly, I think it throws off their system for getting things done. I can see how these circumstances could lead to a contentious atmosphere, which is the last thing a laboring woman needs. That never happened. I credit Amy for creating a mellow environment, and for bringing a bag of chocolates for our very busy nurse! She's a true pro. If you want to give birth naturally (whether at home or at a hospital), it's wise to invest in a doula. Especially for first time parents, it's so hard to know if what you're experiencing is normal, or how close you are to the finish line. Amy's experience and wisdom was a priceless asset. If we decide to have another child, we will definitely work with her again.

They worked with us even though we were close to our due date and we couldn't have been more thankful. They were perfect for us. Each of them have their own strengths and they work together wonderfully. We would've been happy with any of the midwives being at our birth, and that really provided us with a sense of calmness as we were approaching our special day. They were fully capable of guiding us through this major milestone of our lives-- and Libby was specifically amazing! She went above and beyond. If you're unsure about home birth, call or email them. They have a lab on site so that you can do all your blood work and testing there. The rooms are big and clean with a separate family waiting room, bathroom and kitchen from the main patient waiting area. The patient rooms are really clean and nice too. Plus there is almost never a wait to see the midwife unless someone happens to be in labor. There have been a few changes with the midwives over the last 3 years but I believe the ones there now are here to stay for a while. It's easy to get to (just about a mile past The Lost Sea) and up off the main road so it's very quiet inside. I love that you can call and ask to speak to the midwife right then. It's not like an OB office where you would have to press 1 for this, press 2 for this,etc and leave a message. I recommend this center to anyone I know that wants a natural out of hospital birth!

My situation was very different than most and I'm so glad that she decided to take me on as a client. At the time, I was traveling the county with my husband and 3 kids full time in an RV and knew that I'd be in the Nashville area when I'd be close to my due date. Maggie agreed to take me on at around 27 weeks when so many other midwifes backed out because of my different living situation. An RV birth wasn't easy, but Maggie was so wonderful and positive throughout the entire experience. I didn't end up getting my water birth as I had planned; as RV water heaters just don't cut it, but Maggie and Chelsea made me feel calm and very comfortable. They're a fantastic team!! I wish I could have used her for each of my pregnancies and any future pregnancies.

The front desk staff was very nice and welcoming to me and my mom, explained to us how everything works, how to complete the initial paperwork, etc. They always have tea, fruit, water at the waiting area. We explained my mom's pain and they took some x-rays then explained to us in detail what the x-rays showed in very easy words so we were able to understand. A 6 session adjustment was prescribed. Every day a visit takes aprox 15-20 mins, the price per adjustment is $40. It includes a table massage with some machinery they plug to your affected area and a checkup/adjustment from the Chiro. Service is excellent, they are very knowledgeable, they take their time with you to explain or switch the teraphy to something that would work better for you. If you don't have improvement on the first 6 sessions they will refer you to a specialist or prescribe an MRI, which is very good because they are very honest and upfront with you from the beginning, they want to help more than take your money. I strongly recommend this place for someone who needs affordable and comprehensive therapy.
