The staff was very knowledgeable about the porcelain lamps and even called us to ask if we wanted brass replacement parts to match the lamps integrity. They did a fabulous job at an affordable price. What a gem! We inherited a floor lamp with a few broken parts. The owners were very good at figuring out what was wrong and replacing what was needed, and for a very reasonable price. They were also exceptionally hospitable with our kids, even teaching them how to make cute paper dolls. I had a very pleasant experience at Westside Lighting Gallery today. Shamefully, in the 30 years I have lived in El Paso, I had never stopped by their showroom. The employees were very helpful in finding me the parts I needed to restore a mid-century lamp, and even had a great price on a perfect shade to complement it. The showroom had a huge selection of shades and bulbs, as well. It is so nice to visit a place where people actually understand the products they sell (as opposed to big box retailers that don't have a clue). I have lived in west El Paso for 6 years and had been meaning to stop by the Westside Lighting Gallery for some time now. My wife and I finally went to visit their showroom last week. They have everything that you can imagine and more. It is like a museum in there, you cannot possibly see all of their inventory in one visit unless you stay for an hour. My wife fell in love with a particular lighting fixture. It was a pendulum lamp that the staff (Shirley in particular) easily converted into a fixture that I was able to mount on the ceiling of my entryway. The ladies there have extensive knowledge of all of their inventory and I was impressed at the endless options of customizing lighting fixtures. They are currently customizing another piece for my dining room and I'm sure it will be beautifully crafted as well. Much better than big box retailers when it comes to quality, service, originality of fixtures and sheer volume of inventory. Lamps, bulbs, chandeliers, ceiling fans, fan blades, any and all lighting related parts and accessories. They will do repair work on your broken fixtures as well. Highly recommended! read more

The showroom is dark and uninviting, but the staff are pleasant and friendly and I enjoyed talking to them. However, I had to refuse to accept the initial cleaning of my antique lamp and asked that they do it, again. The second cleaning was satisfactory, and so was the rewiring and replating. I had brought in an inexpensive, brand new shade that I didn't particularly like but the measurements were correct. I left the shade as a guideline for ordering my new shade. I have the invoice for it and the date I purchased it, and that is in their file. It took several weeks for the new shade to arrive, and it was way too short. I was told that it was too expensive to reorder that particular shade again, that the company would make them order two, not just one. I found that odd since they had successfully ordered just one, and it was too short. But rather than insist on what I wanted, I ordered a very beautiful shade from another manufacturer. When that one came in, the inside fitting of the shade was totally incorrect and the socket stuck way up above the top of the shade! There was no mention of researching the type of fitting required for my particular lamp, remeasuring properly and ordering a shade that would fit. Instead, they said they could paint the socket to match the shade and it wouldn't be too noticeable! I wouldn't accept such sloppiness, and I was told that they had given 120% to helping me! In addition, the shade I had brought in for correct measurement is lost in the backroom somewhere. Even though it's their mistake for losing my shade, I was denied reimbursement or taking that amount off my bill. It was very expensive to have this lamp cleaned, rewired and replated, and it still doesn't have a shade. Customer service is so bad that I couldn't wait to pay, grab my lamp and get out of there! read more
