I contracted with Install America and had my roof replaced in 2012. 50 year warranty. there is a bubble of shingles in the roof over the garage, which a rep told me to go up there and hammer in a few nails. another rep cam a couple weeks ago and said he would fix it. When he went up into crawl space and saw that the support was wrong, he did say it was not right. I also see two spots that are pulling away from the house. another roofer went up on the second floor roof and saw nail pops, and shingles that roll up, also the roof is pliable and bouncy. he questioned whether new plywood was used or was the old sheets used. I have been waiting for a call from Install for two weeks. I guess they have think they have $11,000+ so no need to address issues. Giving them a negative review. read more

We had some work done with them previously and everything turned out well. The issue I have with them is their sales techniques. Its high pressure nonsense. I contacted them about new doors three days ago, told them i would call back to schedule an appointment. Between Saturday and Monday, I got two calls and four text messages "confirming my appointment" on Tuesday. I'm now looking for other companies. I hate high pressure sales with a burning passion. Replaced 13 windows, price was steep but the quality looked good. Was originally told they could be installed in 1 day. The day they arrived @ 11:34 am they told me it was going to rain so they left within minutes of arrival, and they had to drive 1 1/2 hours each way. Second day they arrived a little earlier but not much.They got 6 windows done, I knew there was no way they could install 13 windows in one day with a crew of only two people. Third day theyinstalled the remaining 7 windows. The installation was neat and clean. But the clean up bordered on disrespecting my house, leaving debris in every room tearing shades and moving furniture without my permission. At one point I saw one of the guys standing on a custom hand painted radiator cover with his shoes on, right next to him was a ladder! Took me 8 hours to clean the rooms where the install had happened. I don't expect them to clean my house but I did expect them to leave it at least the same way they found it. read more

Delivering someone else's supplies to my house blocking my elderly parents driveway (they live next to me) and refusing to pick it up for over a month. Poor quality of service my gutters they installed peeled off of my third story home and fell onto my driveway and front of my house. Damaged my three week old siding. This happened in Jan. At our request, we had Mike from Install America give us his sales pitch and estimate for a tub to shower conversion. He explained everything in excellent detail and was very personable and honest. We mulled it over for several days and decided to sign the contract without any further "shopping". We do not regret our decision! Within a month's time our new shower was installed and we are extremely pleased with it. The Installers Andrew and another Mike were very professional with their work and made sure we were satisified with the details step by step. They were very courteous and worked 8 hours straight without a single break so were able to complete the conversion in one day! They were respectful to our home and made sure the floors from the front door to the bathroom were covered, then cleaned up perfectly afterwards. We couldn't be more satisied and would highly contact Install America again for any renovation projects we might need need in the future. read more

I would not recommend install America, prices are high, customer service is lacking, however good side, installer was very nice did great work and very clean. PLEASE -Verify your contract contains everything you discussed with salesperson do not accept oh don't worry about it, because if it's not in the contract it didn't happen. My install was for a bathtub/shower conversion to a walk in shower. Using bci acrylic panels, initially the salesperson said the cost would be like 15-17k but with discount could get it for like $12k. We said no we could redo whole bathroom for that, and hd sells shower panel kits for like $2k settled on $9k with the install by end of October since he confirmed the materials were in stock. We left the required 1/3 deposit, waited on a call for measure, which happened t within a week of sales visit. The measure person told us they would call me within 2 days to a week with install date. No call, so I called project person Bill project manager and self identified regional manager, provided by the salesperson on the initial visit, he indicated this would not be done until November, but he would check and call me in a hour, no call was received. Since I did not get a call I waited till next day and called Bill back. I was met with an attitude and he started to argue that I needed to give him time, I corrected him that he advised me he would call me in a hour, and I called him the next day. He still had attitude , I advised him I got the impression he did not want my business and we should simply cancel this and I would go someplace else. He then asked to let him check this (his wording was he was doing me a favor, i corrected him) and see if he could expedite order. I got a call from someone else and they scheduled for 10/23. Install day, installer arrived 1st thing he asked for was the 2nd payment of 3. He was very nice, he drop clothed walkway and steps got right to work. I Noticed he installed a fixed shower head vs handheld that was discussed with salesperson (remember what I said about contract items) he verified was not in it. When he was completed, very good job by the way, he asked for final payment which again salesperson discussed with both my wife and myself would not be due for like 45 days around December. Installer called his boss and since it was not in contract it was due asap. I don't think install America are ethical or honest (installer was great) I should have pursed the cancel and gone with another provider since the regional manager had such a bad attitude from the beginning read more

The company sent a guy, training another guy to do a shower install. A one day job?? Haha, they would get here at 10:30 or so and leave at 3. The job took 3 days. After they left I find all kinds of stuff wrong..he put a piece of moldy wood under the shower floor. Didn't screw down the toilet, and I am willing to bet the trainee did not use a wax ring.. the floor around my toilet is now squishy. The shelves are not level at all. I wanted to get my wife a new bathroom. A rep came to my house and it seemed a little pricey but I got it anyways. When the installer came he had a co pletely different contract and they tried to charge me 15,000 for a bathtub. I didn't let him in and the service rep came back out and explained it was his fault and redid the contact. During this the main supervisor called me literally screaming saying this was my fault and he wasn't making enough money. My bathroom didn't even use 2 boxes of flooring and they still didn't even do my vanity I bought it myself at lowes. 15,000 for a tub a toilet and 2 boxes of flooring. Once it was all said and done I already had a loan set up with my bank but the manager coaxed me into using their loan because he couldn't wait a day to get my check. The interest for sunlight financial that they use is ridiculous. Everything about this experience sucked and they didn't do much to rectify it. If you want work done find someone else. This was my first ever experience with a project using a loan and contract. They are swindlers and will tell you one thing and do another. Code violations, safety hazards, improperly installed walls, no vapor barrier, leaks, exhaust fan doesn't work, ducts not even fastened in the attic, just laid on the pipe loose and covered with my blown in insulation, etc. Come winter, humid air leaking at duct connection will condense and make mold/ health hazard #2. DO NOT even let these people in your house! I wanted to get new windows for the entire house. I had 4 of the sliders (larger windows) that I wanted to replace with the single windows which I would need 2 for each slider. I was going to have a total of 10 windows replaced. I was given a price of almost $20,000 which was way more than I wanted to spend. I was then given a discounted price of $15,000 which was better, and I finally agreed to it (dumb thing on my part). When the guy came to measure the windows, he said that they couldn't do the single type windows where the sliders are. Here the sales guy only put down for 1 single for each slider instead of 2. They could do the 2 sliders, but it would be more money or do a picture window (1 solid that couldn't be opened) which I ended up going for because I didn't have the extra cash. The windows came in and I was told they would be here between 8-9 a.m. for the install. They got here at 10:45 with not even a call to say they're running late. I had a window A/C upstairs, and it was to be reinstalled which wasn't done. All they did was complain about having to move the sofa out and things like that and said it's a good thing that they were here to do the install rather than the other guys that do it because they would have just left and not done it. I have now called 3 times and left messages and still haven't gotten a call back. read more

Since the install I have had leaks that I have reported multiple times and they won't even return my repeated calls. It's been 3.5 yrs since the contract was signed, the work still isn't complete. I've had an attorney involved for the past yr and we've made some progress. 1st the quality of their kitchen cabinets is garbage, cardboard is only a step below. They installed and reinstalled the kitchen floor 4 times and it's still not right. The roof was a nightmare, left it sit unfinished for a month, meanwhile water poured into my home. tried to cover rotted wood w aluminum. once The shingles and fascia was on we thought we were good, until the facia fell off because they used indoor pine molding. The gutters were sloped the wrong way causing rain to pour over and cause more water damage. I don't even want to get into the flashing nightmare, or the fact that the chimneys needed rebuilt. They didn't insulate above my addition, when I complained they sprayed a can of foam into the ceiling and called it a day (my attorney recently Got this corrected). They poured excess mortar in my flower beds, let my kitchen counter sit in my backyard for 3 months. Threatened to pull my funding if I didn't sign completion docs, assured me the funds would be kept in escrow until the project was actually complete, then refused to escrow the money. Absolutely appalled at our experience with Install America's sales rep. They were incredibly pushy about whether my significant other would be there (red flag). I just wanted an estimate and said multiple times we wouldn't be making a decision today. But the sales rep pressured us so hard and kept asking about how we would be paying before we even agreed. The price was twice as much as what my parents just paid for their windows and we only had 2 more than them. But I can't get over how horrible the sales rep was, he was arrogant, egotistical, pushy, intimidating and down right rude. Towards the end of the appointment he began to openly insult my boyfriend to his face. I'm from Punxsutawney, Pa.. I went through an orientation. Yes I was satisfied. I ask if I could use my own loan company, and was told ":"YES"". So everything was fine. But, you have to use Install America's loan department. Two guys showed up to install windows. One barely spoke English, and the other none at all. They dragged the old windows down my steps hitting ""EVERY STEP"". Second day, they came in late afternoon and never left until about 10pm. The screens in the windows are very, very flimsy and cheap. Plus one of them was drinking and seemed fairly drunk and loud. We are an alcohol & smoke free home. I received 7 different monthly loan payments until decided. Now a Dave is constantly calling my home to replace roof. Ha Ha, he must be joking. I've had them do two patio doors at two locations and both times the work was done well and they cleaned up after themselves. I'd give them a five star review based on the quality of the work, but the communication is sometimes spotty. The recent job (completed today) was an example. They had called to schedule the installation. Fine. I took vacation time to be there. I got a call saying they wouldn't be there because they had the wrong door. I get it, stuff happens. They said they would try to do it the following Saturday, but never confirmed. I didn't hear anything, so I assumed it wasn't happening and bought tickets to a ball game. Doorbell rings and there's a guy there to install a door. I politely told him what was going on and we'd need to reschedule. Guy from the office called and we scheduled for today between 10-11. They arrived around 10:20 and were done at 1. Door looks great and we're very happy. Reading reviews on here was completely opposite of the experience we had. Our salesperson, Megan, was prompt and wasn't hard selling us at all. Other than some communication snafus, very positive overall. read more

These people are crazy making. Met their rep at a lame home show, where they were the only contractors interested in our basement renovation. Made an appointment for Saturday. They were a no show. Decided to call on Monday and get scheduled again. Made an appointment for Wednesday. Two hours later, I get a call from a guy working for them who wants to discuss my project. It doesn't go very far before he puts me on hold and then comes back to tell me that his manager says they're not doing any basement jobs right now because they don't have the staff for the framing, etc. Oh, so does that mean I shouldn't expect someone to come on Wednesday? He had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently their call centers don't talk to each other. Wish I'd read the reviews here before I even started with them. My husband and I are in the market for a new front door and new interior doors, so we've been getting a few quotes from local businesses. Unfortunately, Install America was one of the companies we contacted. First of all, my husband spoke with someone on the phone who said that they did both front doors and interior doors. Last night, we were unlucky enough to have been visited by one of their illustrious "marketing managers," even though the guy on the phone said he would be there in person. Well, the rep showed up and told my husband that he wouldn't waste his time on interior doors, so they essentially lied on his phone. He also told my husband that he wasn't going to just do a front door, and that to hear his quote for the new front door, he'd have to listen to his spiel about windows too. My husband wasn't happy, but said OK. I have not been feeling well, so I was upstairs during this portion of the visit. However, he proceeded to show my husband a canned presentation about windows. At one point, he was condescending enough to ask my husband "what did I just say?" Are you serious? Is this 5th grade where the teacher is calling out a student? He kept bumping in to our entryway table and didn't even apologize...my husband had to move it. Oh, and he asked my husband if he could borrow a phone charger...seriously? After 75 minutes (omg) of this guy babbling about windows that we didn't want or need, my husband had me come downstairs so we could hear about the front door. The rep proceeded to present about the front door. It was fine - I'm sure that the doors are great quality and all, but his tone was condescending and his attitude was very off putting. He also wouldn't look me in the eye - but had no problem looking my husband in the eye. At the close, he asked us how we'd be paying. He kept trying to push us to give him a number, which we wouldn't. He then tried to get us to commit and sign, even though we said that this was just a consultation and we had other offers to consider. The rep said..."well what if you sign now, and I give you a 30 day money back guarantee and price match?" I had to ask myself if I was watching an infomercial. He insinuated several times that we were cheap, even though we never gave him a number. My husband reminded him that he was in sales for a long time and wasn't going to fall for the hard sell...and I reminded him that I work with salespeople every day and know good sales tactics. We firmly reiterated that we were not making a decision on the spot. This is when the guy lost it. He started flipping out and slamming things around (scuffing up my dining room table) and packing up rapidly. He then proceeded to tell us that we wasted his time since we weren't "serious" and he could have done so many other things and met with so many other people. He had the nerve to say that he wasn't "bitter," but that we wasted his time and that he had a long day. And of course he lives "hours" away. Sure you do. My husband asked him when we could expect to hear a quote, and he said "why don't you call me when you get your other quotes." I had to hold back my laughter at this point because this was so out of control and ridiculous. He literally stormed out of our house. No handshake, nothing. I was dumbfounded. I have never seen something so unprofessional in my life. I can only imagine how horrifying the process must be once the customer makes the grave mistake of actually signing a contract with this company. I beg of you to never allow these people in to your home. For him to treat us like this (especially in MY OWN HOME!) was unacceptable, especially after he knew that I am not feeling well. I had my bathroom installed in January of 2020. The cost was absurd, the quality of products are low, and it cost me an extra 2k to fix everything that was a mess when they left. They refused to send me a copy of my contract, after asking multiple times. The install guys were nice enough, but they knew I was beyond frustrated. As what was promised to me, was something they said they didn't normally do (install lighting-- which I was told they would do if I just purchased the materials). They ended up doing it because the lead guy was really nice--- but I had to spend another 1k on patching up the ceiling and wall from the install. My favorite part in all of this was they called asking how I liked it. I told them the toilet was never installed properly after they put the floor in. They said they'd set up a service call. They asked if I had any other projects. I said sure, just to see what they'd quote me for a smaller bathroom-- as I strongly believe what I paid for was greatly over priced. They had a sales man at my house the next day. I've tried 2x since then for a service call-- nothing. 4 weeks later, still no word. I've waited a while to post a review to cool off and make sure I was level headed--- but, it's been almost a year and it still angers me to walk into my vastly over priced/low quality bathroom. I've had a few people even mention to me they think they're going to break the shower doors bc they're so flimsy. I'll be glad to sell this house so I don't have to think about that mistake anymore.
