I have a Coverage on turist visitor for $8,500.00 dlls, (Blue Book estimated) and now Qualitas is whanting to pay $2,500.00 total for my lost. I am writing this to protect YELP users from going though what my family and I did. So I loaded up the kids and wife in the car to head down to Baja for a long weekend. We head down to San Diego like we have over so many years to purchase our Mexican Auto Insurance. We drive to Instant Mexican Insurance in San Ysidro to buy our policy. Just like always we get full coverage on the vehicle and off we go! I love Baja there is so much to do and we were having a blast. That is until our last day when we decided to drive down to Ensenada. We walked around town for 6 hrs. When we decided we had enough we jumped in the car and headed back to our condo. We were sitting at the last stop light out of town when all of the sudden BAM! We were rear ended by a HUGE tour bus! Thankfully everyone was ok and our car was drivable. When we exchange insurance info it turns out we have the same insurance company Qualitas (avoid using them at all costs). We waited an hour and a half for the insurance adjuster and when he arrived he informed us our insurance policy would only cover Mexican labor rates ($5-7 a hr in Mexico & $45-$50 in the states). This was never told to us when we purchased our policy through Instant Mexican Insurance. Nor did they offer a policy that would cover U.S. labor rates which several reputable business like AAA do. I found a policy after this happened from AAA that covers up to $75 dollar labor rates for only $10.00 more than what I paid for the SCAM Instant Mexican Insurance offers along with their partner in crime Qualitas. They gave me two options. Take my car to Mexico on my dime (I live 700 miles round trip from the border)to have it repaired by some shop I cannot research or accept just under $5000 on estimates averaging $8500 and that's not including damage that cannot be seen until the vehicle can be taken apart. After contacting Instant Mexican Insurance our first day home I was verbally harassed buy some rude menopausal woman who reminded me by taking the packet they gave me I accepted the terms buried deep in their packet. Heed my WARNING!!! Use Instant Mexican Insurance & Qualitas at your risk! I can almost guarantee any of the positive posts have never had to file a claim. read more

You're going down to Baja for the weekend? Really???! No! You shouldn't go! Haven't you heard about all the mess and trouble down there over the last year or so? Ugh. That's what I kept hearing from everyone. It was fine people!!!! LOL Before heading down to the border we all stopped here at Instant Mexico Auto Insurance and bought some weekend insurance for our cars. We knew we would be fine but would our cars survive the trip? They drive aggressive down there! It's better to be safe than sorry so drop by here and literally instantly buy some insurance. The ladies and Instant Mexico Auto Insurance have always treated me like a king. Since I'm not actually a king I'm guessing they do this for everyone. If you roll in past normal business hours then they have a drive up window. Yep, that means they have 24hr service!! I typically cross the border at reasonable hours so I've only used the drive up once but it was pretty easy. You don't even have to get out of your car... Well I do because I'm always pulling a trailer and it won't make the hard right turn out of the drive up lane but if you're lucky enough to be crossing the border without a trailer then you'll make it. The inside is very tidy and clean and the ladies are very good at what they do. Bring in your registration and after a couple easy questions you're walking out with a policy and you're headed for the crossing. The bathroom (men's, I can't vouch for the women's) is always clean but the fluorescent light above the Handi-stall has been flickering for a while and it gives an odd vibe. I think they leave it like that so you'll hurry when you have to do the "Big job" but that's just me. They also have a rack with brochures for attractions and things to do on both sides of the border. I recommend perusing these because you may find something new to do!! A couple useful tips: 1.) Save your policy after your trip. Take in your old policy when you get a new one and it speeds up the process greatly because they'll already have your info. 2.) The longer your policy period the cheaper it gets. Eg, when I buy for my truck it's now $30 a day but I can get a policy for an entire year for $340. I've been using them for years and (knock on wood) never needed them. read more

Have used them for over 25 years because this is the spot my parents would go to get insurance and use the restrooms. Our truck was stolen while shopping in the Walmart Had to cross border back home because you need all your paperwork (which we left in the truck ) like registrations etc. went back next day to fill everything out n police station for reports and we did receive our check with in about 30 days. BE AWARE OF WHERE YOU BUY YOUR INSURANCE I am very disappointed with this company, I purchased insurance for my truck, boat and trailer for Mexico as I had a fishing tournament throughout Baja. While on my way to Bahia de los Angeles, I was mugged and left on the side of the road, they took it all , truck, boat, trailer , fishing gear etc. I followed instructions, as listed in pamphlet, and contacted Qualitas , they had a field officer come out and meet me who helped me file reports with all the Police agencies needed (we spent 2 whole days) Once back in the US, I contacted Iliana, whom was very nice and courteous throughout my many, many calls enquiring information on status of my case , she even went with me to a meeting at the Qualitas office in Tijuana, Mexico . The people there gave me a list of paperwork that I needed to have translated and apostiled, they even requested that I had to pay a 30 percent importation fee on my stolen boat so they can pay me. I asked for a copy of where that was mentioned in the contract..... still waiting..... it's been over 6 months and I haven't received a dime. Bot only did the thieves steal from me, now I feel the same when speaking to the insurance agents from Qualitas. Do not buy insurance from them, I do NOT recommend this company nor Qualitas insurance. I hope I would have gone with a more reputable company. read more

Every time I go to Mexico I stop and get insurance here. We usually go to the Baja races and Instant Mexican Auto Insurance provides insurance for all your Baja needs. It is quick and pain free. It is right off the freeway and they have a drive thru. I keep coming back because the service and the prices are great. I love how fast and easy it is. My family purchased Auto Insurance from here on November 23, 2015, since we were spending Thanksgiving in Mexico. The woman at the counter, who appeared to be incredibly helpful, took my card and swiped it at another terminal away from where my husband and I were standing, instead of allowing me to swipe my card at the terminal myself which was in front of me. At the time, we thought nothing of the incident - we simply assumed the terminal in front of us must have some type of defect. On Thanksgiving day, at dinner nonetheless, I discovered that a duplicate of my card had been made immediately after we went to "Instant Mexico Auto Insurance Services" and that my bank account had been drained, with numerous purchases to Walmart in another part of California, while we were in Mexico. Since this is the only establishment we used from my bank prior to leaving the country for a week, and we had not swiped my card until Thanksgiving Day (only to discover the account had been drained), we can only conclude this establishment is responsible for the security breach. I usually never write reviews, however I felt inclined since I feel that any establishment that would strand a family with three small children under the age of 10 in Mexico by disabling their financial resources must not be allowed to operate. I fill be filling an official complaint with the BBB and my husband's company, which uses this business for work often, will no longer buy insurance from here. Stay away! read more

We have a vacation house in Rosarito. My parents were in a terrible accident on toll freeway that my dad caused. My dad's 2010 car was totaled and my mom broke her ankle. My dad had minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital and my mom had to have plates put in her ankle. Insurance paid for 100% medical and hospital cost and they paid for a replacement car using US blue book. There is no suing in Mexico so no charges were made unless you have no insurance. Could be that it is a federal highway but we were very satisfied. A check was sent within 30 days. We have used them for twenty years and we had another rear end accident and it was fixed perfectly. So hopefully luck will continue. read more

I used a credit card to buy insurance with them on April 16th, 2016. 48 hours later, charges were attempted and declined in the US. I had to cancel the card. Don't go to this company. read more
