I visited Doral Vital Imaging on Friday, 3/22 for a CT-Scan with Contrast. The service I received…read morewas questionable. Jorge, the receptionist, was amazing. As requested, I provided the doctor's order, lab work, ID, and insurance card. When Jorge showed the doctor's order to John, the CT Scan Tech, he refused the order stating that I needed an order that was either for the brain or IAC (ear section). I reached out to the doctor's office at which time, they stated the order was correct. Being that an MRI was impossible since I have metal plates on my upper jaw and wires on my lower jaw. I tried talking to John, he would not talk to me. He did not have the courtesy to give me the time of day. He said this had to be resolved the issue with Jorge. Jorge stated it was John's final decision. At this time, I asked to speak to the facility manager, Marta. She was awesome. She listened to my explanation as to why I was unable to do an MRI. She contacted Vital Imaging at Kendall where I had tried on Tuesday, 3/19/2024 to do the MRI. She confirmed the information I provided was accurate information. She instructed John to proceed with the CT-Scan, confirming the doctor's order was correct. I want to make sure that Sonia, Administrator, is aware that Marta was of great help. Thanks God that the facility has "people person" such as Marta to interact with the patients. John is by no means a tactful employee when attending to people/patients, especially when serving the elderly. As a loyal Vital Imaging patient, I feel that staff needs to be sympathetic to the patients' needs. Not just a robot as in a factory.

I wanted to leave this review because I believe patients should understand an important difference…read morebefore scheduling an MRI. This facility uses a 1 Tesla MRI scanner. There is nothing inherently wrong with a 1 Tesla MRI, and for many routine exams it can provide adequate diagnostic images. However, many patients are never told what type of MRI machine is being used or that there are different levels of MRI technology available. In many hospitals and imaging centers today, 3 Tesla MRI scanners are available. A 3 Tesla MRI generally produces higher-resolution images, better detail, and can be particularly beneficial for studies involving the brain, spine, prostate, joints, small ligaments, and certain neurological conditions. Better image quality can sometimes help radiologists detect abnormalities more clearly, although the most appropriate scanner depends on the specific medical situation and your physician's recommendation. My goal is not to discourage anyone from using this facility. Rather, I encourage every patient to ask: Is this a 1 Tesla or a 3 Tesla MRI? Is a 3 Tesla MRI recommended for my specific condition? Would a higher-resolution scan improve the diagnostic quality of my exam? Patients deserve to make informed decisions about their healthcare. Knowing the difference allows you to discuss the best option with your doctor before your appointment.

I want to warn anyone considering this facility about my experience. Back in July, I was quoted…read more$200 for an MRI after they verified with my insurance. When I arrived for the appointment, I was only charged $20 upfront. Weeks later, I suddenly received a bill for $374. When I called to dispute this charge, I was told it was my deductible--even though this was never explained to me at the time and contradicted the original quote. The actual MRI experience was terrible. The staff attempted to insert the IV for contrast 10+ times, leaving me bruised and in pain. I was chastised for having "bad veins" rather than being treated with professionalism or care. I have photographic proof of the excessive needle marks I endured during this visit. When I escalated my concerns, I spoke directly with the CEO, Robert Diaz. Instead of addressing the clear lack of training and miscommunication from his staff, he was entirely unhelpful. Rather than accepting responsibility, he treated me as if I were at fault and made me feel like I was the problem for questioning their billing practices and poor care. This facility not only engages in misleading billing practices but also fails to provide compassionate, professional medical care. Patients deserve honesty, respect, and competent treatment--none of which I received here. I strongly recommend avoiding Advanced Health Imaging. I will be pursuing further action through insurance and the appropriate regulatory agencies.
