Dr. Orbay's Bowen Treatment saved me!…read more In my early teens, I started having major jaw pain that also resulted in headaches. After much consultations and various treatments (e.g. shot of cortisone, polishing my tooth to try to have a better alignment when I chewed, removal of wisdom teeth), my mom and I gave up.  I decided to live with the pain. However, a few years later, I had enough of that constant pain and started searching for other options. I tried other approaches, such as physiotherapy for quite a long time, which did alleviate a tiny bit of the pain. Then, a friend said why not try naturopathy? I didn't believe in that kind of approach but thought I didn't have much to lose trying...this is when I called Dr. Orbay's clinic for an appointment. Dr. Orbay really listened to me, treated me with respect and proposed trying a Bowen Treatment so that my body would be reminded how to properly move my jaw.  I must confess that I didn't believe at that point that making one repeated simple movement on my back would fix my problem. After a handful treatments, well, it worked! No more pain. I was so happy and thankful, and it didn't even hurt. Actually, it was more like going for a short massage! I got to lay down on my stomach and relax... After a few years, some of the pain came back and I did not hesitate to call Dr. Orbay. If you've never been to an Osteopath, it's a form of natural medicine that combines moving, stretching and massaging of your joints and muscles. I have a lot of chronic pain and suffer from migraines, and I'm always up for trying something to help that isn't traditional medication (i.e. more pills). A friend of mine sees Maria, and swears that she has changed her life, so I thought I'd give it a try. Maria is one of the most wonderful people you will ever meet. Her warmth and kindness is evident from the minute you walk into her office (which is located in a beautiful old house just across from Bridgehead on Wellington and Holland), and her calm and soft spoken nature is relaxing and really helped me feel comfortable. Her huge amount of knowledge is clear in her speech, but also evident in the several certificates and degrees on her wall. I went for an initial consultation which was about an hour and fifteen minutes and cost about $120. Maria took the time to do a complete exam and immediately identified problems with my neck (and a bunch of other things!) and asked me a ton of questions about my overall health.
