I've been going to this clinic for almost five years now. Both of my adult daughters for about 3 years. I drive from California to see them in person once every year or two and the rest are virtual appointments. When I first got diagnosed with hypothyroidism, my endocrinologist wanted to do standard treatment on me. I'm not against mainstream medicine, but when it comes to how I want to be treated, I want to be careful with adjusting my meds. My endo wanted to start me on a high dose and then get back to me in 90 days. I was like... No. I need a personable approach with lab work and testing every month to adjust the right dose appropriately. I have good reasons for this. I found this clinic through reading books on the topic and one author mentioning Dr. Alan Christianson who's author was a pharmacist and listening to medical podcasts on my thyroid condition in which he was a guest speaker. Before my first appointment with Integrative health, I made sure to ask an estimate. This helped me to plan my budget and I felt that what they were charging is NOTHING compared to what I've learned about other Integrative clinics. The first Dr. assigned to me was Dr. Beardsley and she eventually went on leave to start a family after two years of seeing her. I now see Dr. Ronan. Dr. Ronan caught my younger adult daughter's thyroid disease that our insured medical dr missed. I'm positive it wasn't our health practitioner's fault, but appointments to test for thyroid on such a young patient when they seem to be OK isn't routine. FYI - thyroid disease is one of the most under diagnosed autoimmune diseases today. So, my older daughter sees them less frequently to keep up with her ferritin levels and hormonal tests because she is on the abyss of having thyroid problems. As long as she follows through with preventative medicine, she could prevent the same autoimmune (hypothyroidism) that I and her sister has. I like the fact that they have testing on all hormones, not just thyroid. They address the entire endocrine system as a whole, like identifying underlying problems to help the thyroid function optimally so that we can lead healthy lives. As an addendum, of which I feel needs to be said, I've found that they don't mind me purchasing an equivalent recommended supplement if it's not their label. I am knowledgeable about the difference between a vitamin that isn't regulated and a nutraceutical vitamin that is. That said, it's ultimately up to you to do the legwork to learn about your disease what questions to ask and what to do. No one can fix you. You have to follow through with what doctors help you to discover through testing not best guess, on what may be exacerbating your health challenges. read more

Dr Ranon personally is 5 stars there but the office experience has gone down to 3, so I'll even it out at 4 here. What used to be a welcoming and very pleasant place to visit with an amazing staff - like being part of a family - now feels like going into a sterile clinic that is still operating in pandemic fashion. There also have been multiple errors with my prescriptions and shots which there never was before a few years ago. I do think Dr. Ranon personally is one of the best in town, so it's worth still coming here. She really listens to you and treats you as the whole human being you are. I prefer the telemedicine consults these days to avoid the office itself, which is also an option for patients. Just referred two more friends here and I'll see what they think. read more

This place is fraudulent!! Fraud! Fraud! Fraud! Beware... if you want to get stuck with unwarranted medical bills, this is the place to go!! If not, MOVE ON & seek a more reputable establishment. While visiting with my doctor, she suggested that I have a food allergen test done. She explained that the lab could be taken on site however the allergen test was not covered by insurance & would cost $350. I accepted, had blood drawn & paid in full for the allergen test before leaving their offices. My physician advised that she would email the test results and once I received them I could schedule a phone appointment to go over the results. (Based on my voiced concern of costs and in an effort to save money on a separate office visit.) I waited more than 6 weeks for the results but never received them. I placed 3 different calls to the office and was told that they would call me back after they researched what happened. Finally, one of the office assistants called me back & advised that the wrong labs were taken. They had drawn labs for thyroid testing not the allergen test. Now I've received a bill from Sonora Quest Lab totaling well over $2300 for thyroid lab tests that I did not request nor authorize!!! The physician's office credited the $350 back to me for the allergen test that was never done & advised that I talk with Sonora Quest Lab directly about the other labs taken & the $2000+ charge. I've spoken to 2 different billing reps w/ Sonora Quest Lab & Allison (Billing Mgr) who states they are unable to help & to go back to my doctor to have the issue corrected. Both businesses are passing the proverbial "buck" and I'm over it!! I refuse to pay for labs that I had no knowledge about nor authorized! I love this office. I have been a patient for several years. I have seen Dr Koshaba and Dr Ruiz. Both are consistent & I really like that I always leave with a follow up plan & know when to come back. I had been to sooo many dr's off all kinds before reading Dr. Christianson's book then to find out he was local! I have had adrenal fatigue, gut health issues, food sensitivities and it is all a work in progress. Kim at the front desk is always patient and kind. She has even scheduled Skype appointment for me when I can't get into the office. Easton in the lab area is never less than friendly and pleasant. Going to the dr's can be a mess & yes things happen. I had been going to this Clinic for many,many years.( like 14 years ) Ever since Dr. Christian has gone remote no longer see patients and is not even in Az. on a full time basic. ( living in Minn. also ) this Clinic is terrible. you might get lucky if someone answers the phone, leave voicemail nobody will call you back. continual having new employees, with the old timer employees are long gone. He has different doctors coming and going also. seems like he now hires NP doctor's who just got out of school. it is very obvious that Dr. Christian has moved on. I went in this week and even the lab. tech has left. so now a NP doctor gave me my IV and it took her 3 different times to get it in. she bruised both of my arms and then ended up using my hand ( very painful ) to get it in. I also have very good popping veins, never had problems in the past. if you are smart you will not go to this clinic. pretty sad to see, I use to be their best cheerleader, not anymore. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Espinol since February of 2021. She has been so helpful in managing my thyroid, hormone imbalance, adrenal issues, and gut imbalance. Dr. Espinol was able to pin point all these issues quite quickly. My primary endo told me she could do nothing more for me and said she would see me in 90 days to rerun tests. Dr. Espinol has been able to help me. She is patient and listens to my concerns and symptoms in order to find the root cause of my issues. The staff at Integrative health has also been amazing. They are always so patient and always so helpful. Yes, Integrative health has their own supplements and they work great! This place has great doctors that do care about their patients but they are extremely overpriced. I have great health insurance through the state and I still had to pay for my lab work, + every followup appointment was another 180 dollars, that's a follow up appointment to the initial appointment cost of 400+ dollars. In addition to this Dr. C is now just a celeb doctor. Every time I am there I hear folks calling and asking to see him and the person answering the phones always say he's not currently seeing patients, he's on a hiatus, he's writing his new book etc. I was not happy with the communication after the initial appointment, the doctor told me I had 2 options for my issue, the longer way which was natural or the fast way which was prescription. When I called to clarify later one of the assistants told me to do both protocols and I remember the doctor very specifically told me one or the other. I never did get a clear answer so I ended up doing the prescription protocol only since I didn't want to be taking double doses since both protocols were 75% the same. I won't be returning read more

Dr. Christianson is such a special doctor. I have been meaning to leave a review for a while and have finally gotten around to it! One of my favorite things about seeing him is the fact that he uses a scribe in his appointments. I went to another doctor who had his head buried in his clipboard and it made me really uncomfortable. I didn't feel like I was being paid attention to. She (the scribe) made all the notes so that the doctor was able to sit and look me in the eye and actually be present during the appointment. I definitely recommend Dr. Christianson and his team. Oh, and be sure to pick up some of their protein powder (I think it's the adrenal protein powder?) it's great for breakfast and it fills me up for the day. Go see them! read more

When I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's a couple years ago, I felt very lost. I was thankful when I found Dr. Beardsley at Integrative Health- she helped me get on the right track. She and I seemed on the right page about labs, symptoms, and appropriate dosages of thyroid hormone. Unfortunately, Dr. Beardsley has since left the practice (when I called to schedule an appt I was informed that an email had been sent announcing this; however, I never received it). Things have not been going as smoothly with the new doctor I'm working with at the practice. She is treating me primarily based on TSH, despite my Free T3 and T4 still trending low. I'm encountering difficulty when I share about my hypo symptoms and receive pushback from her that those can't be hypo symptoms because my labs look fine. Every month there seems to be some error or issue with prescriptions sent to my pharmacy- wrong dosage, wrong brand of medication. The office is also closed for many days around various holidays. A few months ago I had run out of medication and was not able to get in touch with anyone from the office for almost a week. If I wanted this type of experience, I would just go to a traditional endocrinologist's office that took my insurance and not pay thousands of dollars in visits and testing/labwork in the time I've been a patient. I'm concerned about the rhetoric and treatment approach I've been receiving here from a supposed "naturopathic" doctor. I've been on the fence for continuing here for a while, since anyone with thyroid issues knows the struggle of finding even a halfway decent doctor, but if this type of experience continues I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My husbands doctor that is no longer there was wonderful. Treated him not the lab work only. His treatment changes according to needs. His new doctor Dr Ruiz is awful. Only looking at labs. Would not look at his personal history there nothing. Was beyond rude and condescending. I would no longer recommend this practice. If his previous doctor was still there I would not hesitate to give them 5 stars. If we are spending over $300 a month with no insurance I expect the patient to be listened to. read more

Top notch doctors and super friendly staff. I have been seeing Dr. Christianson here for two years and my life has been better for it. He was able to find things that have been adversely affecting my health for years and had long been under the radar of conventional medicine. I go in once a week for a nutritional IV and feel so much better each time I do it. I took an 80 foot fall in January. I was very fortunate to have survived it and now I'm using this place to get back on my feet again. I've been going in for electric acupuncture which has been helping me regain some sensation from what was once my paralyzed lower right leg. Dr. Beardsley was the first person I saw there, and after a couple of months ... I am feeling amazing compared to before. HE HAS GREAT MARKETING MATERIAL... BUT HE IS A LOUSY DOCTOR Add me to the list of people that had a horrible experience with Dr Alan Christianson. After hearing him on multiple podcasts he seemed very knowledgeable and compassionate so I made an appointment. Unfortunately in person I realized he is more concerned with marketing himself as a friendly compassionate doctor than actually being one. In person he came across as faking his friendliness and acted like a dictator rather than the compassionate guy he portrays on podcasts. He got visibly upset when I asked him questions and basically told me he's seen 60,000 patients so I should do as he says.. which entailed thousands of dollars of tests... I figured on the follow up appointment I would be able to ask questions.. no. he was the same as the first appointment... he gave me a short answer of what he thought my problem was and his suggested treatment with minimal explanation.. when I asked a few questions he again became agitated and acted rushed like he had given me my 5 minutes and now I was wasting his time. After spending thousands of dollars on his marked up blood tests I would expect a lot better service than that. Anyways if you want an ego maniac with a serious "holier than thou" attitude who is more concerned with promoting himself than treating patients with decency.. this is your guy. If you want a caring doctor that is willing to answer your questions and treat you with genuine concern look elsewhere. read more

When I first started going here a few years ago, it was a good experience, one I would have given 3-4 stars for. Expensive but good. I saw a woman doctor - Dr. Stewart. She was great, but she got pregnant and then eventually left the practice and moved out of state. I've seen Dr. Christianson and a few of the other doctors over the years and those visits were mostly less than stellar. I did not have the best experience with Dr. Christianson. He goes super fast, I really didn't get the answers I needed and felt a bit misdiagnosed. If he is the Hashimoto's expert, then why did he push me to get surgery on my thyroid agreeing with traditional doctors that maybe it was something serious. I ended up having surgery after trying not to for years. All was just fine (it was just plain old Hashimoto's tissue), like I knew it would be, but the surgery and recovery were awful, and I deeply regret listening to the doctors who put fear or legal concerns above other factors and pushed for unnecessary surgery. I also got super sick the weekend before I saw Dr. Christianson - food poisoning or something. When I was in the tiny room with him and 2 assistants (super claustrophobic), I almost passed out. He seemed to not even realize how sick I was or that I could literally not follow what he was saying, but I couldn't cancel my appointment last minute and incur a charge so I literally dragged myself to the office. My only other caution here is that they tend to run a lot of blood tests, sometimes unnecessary ones or done at the wrong time. They don't always tell you what they are testing so you can't tell them you've had that test like 6 times and the result is always the same and won't ever change. I have to pay for part of every lab test so I don't appreciate wasting my money when it could have been avoided. The last labs were run at the end of the day and a good chunk of them needed to be done fasting so the results were inaccurate and a waste of my money! This place is very expensive so it hurts to waste a dime. On the pro side, the office space is nice and some of the people are friendly. Back in the beginning of my time here, ALL the office people were super nice but like most places, the faces change and not always a change for the best. read more

This office is a nightmare. If you ever want to speak to a physician there who is prescribing medication for you, good luck. I have spent three months trying to get a five-minute conversation with the Doctor Who continues to order blood test but will not discuss them with me. My medication has been increased and my levels have been all over the place. The front office insist on being the go-between and are completely incapable of relaying a question to the doctor and have it get answered. They tell you they'll try and have the doctor call you and then you'll never hear from them again. The only thing they're really good at is charging you immense amounts of money and then trying to sell you there now self branded supplements of which there are resilient. I've been debating whether or not to write this review for almost a year now... so here it goes. I am not from Arizona, but I was referred to him by a nutritionist in the town that I live in. Long story short, last year I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease by the nutritionist and an Endocrinologist here in my town. So being told that Dr. Christianson was "the dude," my family and I immediately bought 4 round trip plane tickets to Arizona to seek his help. I had already been sick for 9 months at the time, and I was so desperate to get better. When we finally arrived, my Mom and I mentally prepared for a long appointment because we were told that he was thorough and compassionate. We spent 25 mins with his assistant, who was very lovely. Then Dr. C came in to discuss what was going on. After reviewing all of my labs he stated that I had Hashitoxicosis and that he had the correct protocol to treat me; saying that this would give me my life back. He saw me for a matter for 15 mins. It felt very rushed, but being told he was "the dude," I was hopeful. SO, when I got back home I started his method of treatment, and within weeks I started to go down hill. We had numerous Skype sessions with him, only for him to tell me to keep getting more blood work done. Eventually, he started saying that my thyroid was functioning perfectly fine, yet he wanted me to stay on the treatment. (A treatment to suppress my thyroid hormones.) So this made absolutely no sense to me. Eventually, I was so bad I ended up bed ridden. And after numerous phone calls to try to get ahold of him, he suggested that I go to the ER. So I did just that. All of my blood work came back perfectly fine. And when Dr. C read my blood work he stated that my white blood cells were high so I was fighting something. This turned out to just be a sinus infection. A week later, I was still bed ridden, yet he still wanted me to "stay the course with the treatment" Finally, I had enough. Dr. C ordered one more extensive panel of blood work. Mind you, this was in November of 2014. Almost 1 year later, we STILL haven't heard back from him to go over my labs. (Even after calling and leaving messages multiple times.) Finally we moved on from him. I ended up seeing an amazing Endocrinologist from UCSF who re-ordered every single thing I have ever been tested for. Turns out that I never had hashimotos or hasitoxicosis. The entire time I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Which I am still battling today. What blows my mind, is that Dr. Christianson is suppose to be a world renowned expert in thyroid disease. Yet even reading my labs, he still diagnosed me with Hashimoto's/Hashitoxicosis. It boggles my mind. I believe he was way in over his head, and due to his ego, he could not admit that he had no clue what was going on with me. I know this is a very long review, but I just want to give others a heads up. Yes, Dr. Christianson is a nice man, but he is honestly too busy and too focused on his fame to give proper treatment and attention to his patients. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a "doctor," and I do not recommend going here. Unless you are Gena Lee Nolin, you're not going to get the help you need. read more

I tried to call and make an appointment. I told the women I lived in Italy but my family lives here that I come 2x a year at least and she would not let me make an appointment! They don't serve people from outside the country she said and was so rude said she said I wasn't a good fit and hung up on me!!! I started seeing Dr. Christianson a few years ago after reading his book, "Thyroid Disease For Dummies." I was struggling with my Graves' Disease, using only conventional medicines for treatment. Not only was he able to tightly control my thyroid hormone levels, he was able to do the same with my HRT. He also addressed high levels of lead, food allergies and vitamin deficiencies. I have read his other books, listened to his webcasts, read the articles from his emails and picked his brain during appointments, and am always amazed at his knowledge. He has helped me understand the root causes of autoimmune diseases such as Graves', and has taken my health to a whole new level. I was cleared and able to donate a kidney this past July, thanks to my excellent health, which is due in great part to Dr. Christianson. The doctors at Mayo Clinic were amazed at my test results both before and after the surgery as well as my quick recovery. Their advice post-surgery was, "keep doing whatever it is you're doing," which I fully intend to do. I really can't thank Dr. Christianson enough.
