She knew that not only was I dirt poor and lost my home and two cars due to my mental health issues I needed help with, but I was also finding it hard to find food for myself and my children. She offered to see me even though she didn't take my insurance and I couldn't pay until I got on my feet and was expecting money to come in. To her though, this meant she could charge me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to see me for a few twice a week for almost 6 months - the regular rate was $80ish, mine would be $135. This would be almost ok for getting help, but I really didn't get any real therapy. Therapy is coping resources, breathing or stress relief techniques, emergency resources for a crisis, help setting up a support system, information for group therapy... Things like that Carol. Talking to you daily about when I may get money to pay you for an hour twice a week is not therapeutic, it's extremely stressful and is a reminder of how bad my life is. In that time I learned many things; that she wants to stop renting and buy a home but needed down payment money, that my sessions would only be me discussing when I thought I'd be getting my money, and then that I would not get ANY type of guidance or help recovering from the PTSD, agoraphobia, panic disorder and OCD I came to her for! The only thing she ever did for me was filled out a couple of papers to help me get short term disability when she got around to it. I didn't get any real help until I found a different program. The worst was when I went into labor early and was hospitalized, nearly lost my son, and missed an appointment. I bet you can guess what happened next - I got an email demanding money! Because when you know you have a patient who is several months pregnant and has health problems, the FIRST thing anyone at all would be thinking about would be rescheduling useless therapy visits, right? So I should have pulled the breathing tube out and pulled out my cell phone out of my a** and rescheduled my appointment to avoid your angry and disappointed emails, phone calls and texts, right? Beware!Let me just add a note here. LARA, who regulates the licensing in Michigan, claims that Carol DOES NOT have a license to provide health care services in Michigan. How can you claim to help people with disorders when you are not qualified or licensed? Makes sense why my reviews on other sites are disappearing. "Only LMSWs with the Clinical designation can perform psychotherapy and diagnosis of DSM-IV conditions. An LLMSW can perform these functions only under the supervision of an LMSW with the Clinical designation. An LBSW is not trained or authorized to perform psychotherapy or diagnosis of DSM-IV conditions." Wanted to charge me an obnoxious cash only late fee (what a scam) without providing a receipt. The receptionist over the phone told me I can afford it because I wear nice clothes. Tried telling me what life changes I should make to pay their late fee. I'm sorry but if its an emergency, it should be considered to waive a late fee. Doctors offices don't even charge as high as they do for a late or last minute cancellation. I don't understand why they would want to lose a patient over one canceled visit. They would have made more money had they waived the late fee. OH and lets not even talk about the times I was there ON TIME for my appointment and waited HOURS for my therapist to show but they want to charge me for an EMERGENCY cancellation???? No exaggeration. I'll never use this place again.

He listens and responds to you after you say something rather than writing things down or looking at a clipboard. He has really cool toys for people with anxiety to have something to hold while they talk. I've noticed that all good counselors, therapists, and psychiatrists I've been to usually have toys. I first met Dennis when I was 17, my parents sent me to him because I was deeply depressed. I didn't feel comfortable opening up to any of the other therapists or psychologists I was seeing, because they didn't really try to connect with me. Dennis reminded me that I was a person, under all my anger and sadness and pain. I was pretty numb and disconnected from emotions, but he saw past all that to the person I was. I moved away before college, but when I realized I had unresolved things to sort through last month Dennis was the one I chose to seek treatment from through zoom. It's nice to have someone in your corner and Dennis is always in your corner.

I did not understand how these stretching and posture exercises could help reduce the pain. I was wrong. The therapist targeted my exercises and stretching to alleviate my specific pain issues. The staff was confident, friendly and extremely thorough. They asked the right questions, evaluated my images and concerns. I experienced a slight reduction of pain after my very first session. Today, after four weeks of sessions, I feel like a brand new woman. My pain has been significantly reduced and I feel great.
