Moms room was private and was great for all her many visitors. We knew it was not going to be too long as mom was failing quickly and the team kept us abreast of any and all changes ... good or bad. The days are filled with activities and all the residents seemed happy. Special food requests were given and they have a tiny dog that would visit the residents a couple times a week. That was a highlight for sure. AZ Life is an Arizona Long Term Care certified facility. We literally visited dozens and nothing compared to Ludmilla's beautiful home. They speak hopefully, lovingly and faithfully and it really reflects in the faces and eyes of those who live here. They are committed to loving the residents and you see it! I would visit my dad twice a month, then once a week, and ultimately every day before he passed, and all of my visits were completely without notice, as even I didn't know exactly when I would be there next. With that said, each time I saw my dad, I found him to be very well cared for, dressed in clean clothes, hair combed, shaved, and in good spirits. The staff knew what his habits were, be it how he takes his coffee in the morning or a nightcap in the evening. His room, bedding and personal items were always clean and organized. I credit the staff entirely for his condition. The staff was always very caring and helpful to my dad and to me as well. Everyone knew who my dad was and how he was doing on any particular day or week. They were encouraging of him to play the piano as well as other activities, but they also gave him the space to do nothing if that is what he wanted. Without question, Orchard Pointe was a great place for my dad to have lived his end of life, and I would recommend them to anyone wholeheartedly.

The front desk staff is really pleasant and so ready to assist when you walk through those doors whenever I have come to visit. I love the type of care the Seniors receive. They also have an amazing Bible study on Tuesdays which is good for their souls. I can't say enough good things about them. They always greet me with a big smile and conversation that it's obvious they truly care about people. There are so many good people from Housekeeping, Restaurant and Maintenance employees that I would love to recognize each and everyone of them for taking such good care of all The seniors that live here. Shower times are always at a different time even though they are supposed to be on a schedule. The folks living there, many complain they wait a long time just to be served, let alone waiting more time for the food to get served. Sometimes they are out of stock on many of the foods they have listed. Their call buttons that they wear are pretty much useless as far as I am concerned. It only registers at the desk with a light they need help. Well, what kind of help??? Did they fall and can't get up or they are hurt?? Sick?? or are they just needing something that is not too important. Staff has NO IDEA where they are. My friend was outside by the pool in the heat having issues and could not get up off the chair. No one was around, no cameras checking the pool area they were outside for quite a while before they got enough strength to get themself up. Staff never found my friend and never looked outside either. The call button only works 1 time. you can push it 10 times but it's only the first time you press it that it notifies the staff. The Staff does seem pretty friendly, but they need more help and BETTER management running the place. There should be at least cameras on the outside of the building especially the pool area. We are talking SENIORS after all.

Beyond the daily chores of caring for a person whose capacity is so limited, they are kind, gentle and treat her as if she were their own loved one. I get reports from Barbara so I can keep up with any news of her as she nears the end of her life. I would have her in no other place. Barbara and her staff are top notch in every way.
