The facility allows pets and we met Lily of the Valley, our friend's cat. The rooms are good sized with bedroom and sitting area. A small microwave and refrigerator are in the room. The cleaning staff come often. While we were sitting in her room, a staff person came to visit. She was there to help bathe our friend, but said she would come back later. It was an enjoyable visit. They have their own parking lot.

Promises are made to perspective residents that often are not realized. The sales representative works on commission. That's why the move in fee is extremely high. Morningstar employee turnover rate is extremely high. They have also been through several directors in the short time they have been open. Do your homework before moving your loved one. Check with Arizona Department of Health for complaints. Our family finally gave up on false promises from management and corporate. We as a family knew the care for our loved one was extremely poor, but we never truly understood how bad it was, until we moved to a different facility. Morningstar and many care facilities are all faced with the same situational problem. Caretakers require very little training, they dont even need a high school education. Research requirements to be a caretaker.....it's scary. They are under trained, under paid and are expected to fulfill great responsibilities for residences that require special, high skilled care. For those of you who have experienced the same frustration we have, don"t give up. There are a few well run facilities out there. We recently lost our Mother after a long battle with COPD. She lived her last year of her life at Rock Creek Memory Care in Surprise AZ. They don't have a salesperson. The director works personally with perspective new residents. The director is responsible for any and all representation. The employees are all well trained. The staff are all long term employees. They work with passion for the residents because they love their job. They have zero complaints with AZ. Dept. Of Health. They are family owned and operated. My family hopes this review helps people who are just beginning their journey with their loved one. Hopefully you don't learn the hard way, as we did. I would never, never recommend Morningstar.

All of the caregivers have been compassionate, loving and caring to both of my parents' needs. The home itself is new, clean and beautifully designed. There is a large patio and backyard with mini golf. All the meals are home cooked and they pay attention to dietary needs. There are certified caregivers on site 24/7. This home accommodates up to 6 residents so it provides tailored attention to each resident. No one is lost in the shuffle like that of a larger facility. I hope this review helps any one who is faced with a difficult decision of where your love one can reside. My original goal was to have them move in with me however after observing all the love and care they receive now through this group home, I would have done my parents and myself a disservice. I visited several 'facilities', but my last stop was OP, and it was perfect. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming, not just to me but to my mom! We were embraced with their warmth, kindness and knowledge. My mother was a nurse, and her assessment of her care was, "They are excellent". In December of 2022, my mother-in- law fell and fractured her wrist. From the hospital, she was sent to rehab. She had trouble doing PT because her toe nails were long and painful. They needed to be clipped. The rehab would not clip her nails. The week before Christmas, on a Friday, she/I was given a 5 day notice of discharge. I immediately called Orchard Pointe-Surprise, and within 3 days, my mother in law was moved in and settled! She was cared for, loved on and treated with respect. The last six days of her life, staff members from administration, to caregivers, to transportation, and maintenance, came to pay their final respects and show me love and support. Yvette took me through the whole facility. It was warm, welcoming and so peaceful. Mom would be staying in the memory care. It was so safe, quiet and very intimate. It's set up almost like a Montessori school. They only take around 20 residents in the memory care. I was so grateful they had an opening for her! They have a ratio of about 1 care giver to 5 residents. They had amazing safety systems set up for caring for their residents! We had superb gentle nurses and caregivers like Arrietta and Delores! They looked after mom like she was their own. So protective! There was Pablo who at nights would stay close and talk to mom's room/door so she would feel comfortable and sleep! From the moment she arrived at Orchard Point earlier than expected, Yvette and Patty the Director took such amazing care of her. Even answering their personal cellphones late late at night on our first night there. I was expecting voicemail but they took my call and jumped into action! They quickly helped with any accommodations she/we needed. They helped us as her family find support for her! They and all of the staff in the Memory Care are a family! It felt like home. The residents mom spent time with were so happy. Everyone was active, clean, needs being met! There was not one single resident who wasn't being loved and cared for! Orchard Pointe was such a blessing for us in a painful journey! They took care of us! They took care of us so we could set back and breathe! Orchard Pointe is a Home and a Family!
