I called and asked about pricing. The cost (whether jump start or battery) was reasonable. Mr. Ayala said he'd pick up the battery on the way just in case - having gotten the information I had on hand for my make and model, and my equipment preference if it came to that. He also said that I wouldn't be charged for the battery if it wasn't needed - regardless of him making this outlay. As promised, he showed up about 45 minutes after our call - this is with him driving up to Baltimore. When he arrived, Mr. Ayala looked at the battery, said it was 2 years old, no corrosion - relatively young for the equipment. That it probably would be just a jump start (I had left the car sitting for too long). He then promptly walked me through the steps to jump it, while attaching the cords to the outlets. The car started. Then he had me turn it off without the cords attached to check that it still started, which it did. The service was $85. Perfectly reasonable. Convenient and timely, as well, and I found him to be pleasant and knowledgeable.

He unloaded and loaded the trunk for me so that I could stay safe as a 38w pregnant woman. I appreciated that when he was done he said, "Do not drive over 50 mph with this donut tire and be safe." He is super friendly, kind and efficient. Definitely will use him in the future if we have auto problems in the DMV.

After I explained that I would only be paying the amount I was quoted, the technician told me I should be willing to pay more because he was "helping me out." I found that unprofessional. I was already paying for a service, and customers shouldn't be pressured into paying more after a price has been agreed upon--especially when they're stranded on the side of the highway. Using a woman in needs situation to pocket extra money is unethical and unkind. Wouldn't use this service again. Thankfully I had a pump because Chris also refused to put air, wasn't expected, but he only refused after I questioned the increase.
