I started with Dr. Cruz on March 18th and we had a good visit, even had a fist bump. While I was there the nurse asked me if I need any refills of my prescriptions and she filled two of the many that I have while there. Dr. Cruz has all my medications in their portal and told me just to ask when I needed others filled. So, recently I asked for several to be filled. They filled all but one for 60 mg and told me that my cardiologist would need to renew it, but they had already renewed the same drug for 30 mg. I got angry about that because I had given them a list of all of my medications. I wrote and explained that they had already filled the 30mg pill. I wrote them and told them I was angry (pissed off) and if they couldn't renew all of them I would find a new primary care doctor. *The issues with using the portal to ask another doctor for a renewal is the portal sucks, I've had to log in 20 times before I can get to send a message. I have better things to do with my time than try to send them a message, even Dr. Cruz agreed with me on that. Well, they wrote back to tell me to find a new primary care doctor because Dr. Cruz would not be seeing me again. And then they continued on; Quote: After recent discussion with Dr. Cruz about the recent portal message you sent in to us, he has decided that it is best for you to seek a primary care doctor elsewhere. And, we are suggesting that you find one outside of the Intercoastal Medical Group, since we do not tolerate these type of responses to our medical assisting staff members, or physicians. Attached to this message is a signed copy of the discharge letter, that will also be coming to you in the mail by certified letter. (unquote) They actually told me I should look for a Dr. outside of Intercostal MG. Now Dr. Cruz has only been my PC for about 60 days and I have seen 5 other doctors in the group, to suggest that because they didn't like the wording in my portal message that I should find another group, outrageous! That is bold and arrogant and I'm not sure the management of Intercoastal would agree. They loaded me up with cardiac tests but couldn't prescribe a drug that keeps the blood flowing. This seems more instigated by the office staff than Dr. Cruz, as new Dr. here I would think the idea is to grow the patients not shrink them. *I'm also hoping to talk to Corporate about this office! Unfortunately, I am looking for a new practice for primary care as this practice has declined in patient satisfaction and care. It seems to be more about the quality and satisfaction of the office clerical staff. Extremely disappointed with this office. My daughter's appointment was scheduled for 12:00 PM. We checked in at 12:04 PM due to traffic from a bad accident on i75. We were told we had to reschedule because the staff had gone to lunch. No grace period, no understanding, no professionalism. Technically we were there at exactly 12:00 but the front desk woman was checking someone in before us. My daughter was home for college break and this was the only day that could work during her break. The front desk staff was extremely rude and dismissive, showing zero concern for our time or the inconvenience caused. If lunch was a priority, appointments should not have been scheduled at noon. Completely unacceptable and poorly managed. I would not recommend Dr. Aresery's office based on this experience. read more

The patient Portal is a joke. The two slow 8th graders that are responsible for for it should be fired. You can't get any information on it. The wheel just keeps spinning endlessly. I love my doctor. I am a senior on a limited budget with just recently given the news that I have an aorta in my heart. My main physician is leaving the group and I won't be able to follow her as she's going into a different practice. Dr Brok was the very best. Intercoastal group as a business is the worst.Here is the message I received this am. do I have problems paying my bill, yes but this! How cruel "Hi Miss Craig it's Karen in coastal Dr. Brooks office I've been advised by our business office that you were being discharged from intercoastal due to second or third time of having to send you to your collections for the balances they are canceling your appointment with Dr. Brooke on January 19 and they will also be canceling all of the CT's and other appointments that you have coming up as you will have to find care outside of intercoastal apparently I was advised that this is not the first time so this time it is a discharge from all of intercoastal so I'm just giving you a call to let you know that the January 19 appointment has been canceled as well all of the other studies that you have set up and February March and April with intercoastal so you'll need to find yourself a new physician outside of our group I'm sorry to have to do this but they advised me that we needed to let you know the letter is in the mail and you'll be getting it any day now but we cannot see you next week have a good day bye-bye..." so cruel read more

This review is for Urgent Care (Weekend Care Clinic) on Rangeland in Lakewood Ranch. We made an appointment for 12:30 Sat Feb 8. My wife has a nasty scrape on her arm which is getting infected. She arrived early and was told they don't do wound care. She asked if she could see the doctor anyway thinking she needs a better bandage and antibiotics. After waiting for an HOUR that is exactly what the doctor provided. We use Intercoastal for almost all our medical care. The doctors (Primary Care, Cardio, Ortho, Surgery) are excellent. However, the administration can often be a trial. Budget 20-30 mins if you want to schedule an appointment via phone. Lead times for non critical MRIs and CTscans can be a month. The line for labs (bloodwork) is sometimes out the door, even with an appointment. read more

I made the appointment in person today as there wasn't follow through from IMG. Allie called, stating in a rude and accusatory tone, that she had indeed responded the next day. She laughed at me, told me it was my fault, all in a rude tone. When I called her out on her abusive tone, she didn't bother to apologize. Allie should not have any contact with patients. Been with Intercoastal forever...yes you might have to wait to get to your appt. with the doctor but just think, that doctor is giving his/her time and care to those in need, and that's the type of doctor I want and I have. Dr. Ramos-Rivera & staff are excellent, as well as the wonderful P.A.'s within this office. If waiting is a problem then go to the ER, and get the quick attention you need, otherwise, might want to show some respect for our medical professionals and their staff. Also a shout out to Natalie Hagen, Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner, she was a blessings when I broke my foot over a year ago, I'd see her again and again if I needed orthopedic help. I do not know why Intercoastal will not work with me considering I have been a patient for over 12 years. There is no healthcare anymore, doctors are all for the money. I am having ankle surgery tomorrow 12/19/24 at 1:30pm and have an appointment with Dr Cantero at 1:30pm. Called office yesterday to see if I could change appt for today 12/18 or 1-2 hours earlier on 12/19/24. I see Dr Cantero every 3-month for my migraine shots of botox. The representative informed me next available appointment would me in MARCH of 2025. I was shocked that a dr would not fit me, knowing this surgery with Dr O'Neill was emergent and I only needed 10 minutes of Dr Canteros time. The office is always charging my insurance different charges, from $35 - to now $250. Dr Cantero should have some patient empathy. My appointment was for 1:30pm. I was asking for 1-2 hrs prior, any time today. He is the only neurologist that will do botox in your group. Originally I saw Dr Van Passel. She was all for the patients, this way she quit practicing in your institution. My migraines are intolerable without my medications. I am sorry that your doctors do not work with emergencies. March 2023 I got a call from Megan, Dr Robert Schwartz's nurse, telling me that my hgba1c was 6.2 and she stated "that is pre diabetic." Never got a call from Dr Schwartz to discuss this very alarming concern. I took it upon myself, as an RN in a local hospital, to consult with our diabetes educator and a physician colleague who confirmed that an a1c of 6.2 is concerning and I need to take certain measures to ensure I don't develop type 2 diabetes. March, April, May went by, still no call from Dr Schwartz. I made an appointment to discuss my a1c concerns, and request a repeat blood draw. Fast forward to 6/20/23 (3 months from when I got the initial results!) I arrived on time for my appt, he was 20 minutes late. I asked him why he never contacted me about my 6.2 a1c- I said "were you waiting until I was full blown diabetic to call me?" He told me he didn't know where I got my information from and completely discounted my concerns. He rattled off some irrelevant statistics and had no regard for my fear of developing type 2 diabetes. When I asked him what my target a1c should be he again went over some statistics that I didn't really understand. I said "I don't understand.... tell me what my target a1c should be?" He got up from his chair, said "this visit is over" and walked out the door. NEVER in my 53+ years on this earth have I ever been treated with such cavalier disrespect by a healthcare provider. He clearly does not care about me or my concerns. Might I add that I see Dr Schwartz as a coward for not owning up to his oversight and making it right. read more

Then I had the orthopedic appointment taker tell me it would be three months to get in for a dislocated knee. Dr. C. Ross Morrison, my primary care physician, is excellent! He has a good understanding of practical medicine and is very caring and attentive. I have been referred to other specialists when necessary and they too have been prompt and attentive. When I needed specialist care which was not provided by the doctor to whom I was referred, that specialist referred me to another specialist outside his group who could provide the needed service. Using the portal is very handy for me as I need to renew a Rx every month. I get a call, usually the same day, to let me know my Rx is ready. I would definitely recommend Dr. Morrison and Intercoastal Medical Group. read more

The worst. My mother was a patient of this group. She was admitted to the hospital for terminal cancer and a pulmonary embolism. We needed to get her home ( we lived out of town). We needed her to be seen after discharge from the hospital and before her flight. No Appointments available. After much begging and calling back they found an appointment for her. We went to another doctor. As it turned out she was readmitted to the hospital and needed hospice. We were informed this group does not work with hospice ( WHAT!!) Very unprofessional ( we were told it was because of the paperwork) After much wrangling (again) we got a doctor to approve of inpatient hospice until we could move mom to a hospice house. I am a nurse. My job to be an advocate for my patient. There was no advocacy going on with these people. Do not let your loved one use them. They are overworked and overbooked. NO GOOD. read more

I have seen 2 of the drs here and I like them both. My primary care dr is amazing. Her bedside manner is amazing, and her nurse is very responsive on the patient portal. Dr Sauder is my dr and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great dr. I also see an endo here. Rescheduled with another doctor and had to cancel my appointment to reschedule. They said they would call me back to reschedule and they never did. Its been four days. These folks are the worst at customer service! They don't answer the phones sometimes, they schedule appointments 6 months out and then don't give you a courtesy call to remind you, they don't return calls, they push you to other specialty doctors in the practice and say they will schedule appointments for you that never seem to happen, and they act like you are an imposition to them. Maybe that is true from their perspective. I suggest you find a doctor outside of this group if you can because while the doctors may be nice, the rest of the experience is absolutely horrible! read more
