Don't let the location stop you since it appears to be very far east of central London, you pay a bit less (because of distance) and get so much more! The underground station is only a 5 minute walk, especially if you cut through from the parking garage rather than walking from the main entrance. It is situated by and has direct access into the O2. You don't necessarily have to be going to a show at the O2 to stay here as the O2 has a bunch of stores and eateries and it looks like they are building even more. The rooms are bigger than your typical European size hotel rooms and staying here gives you access to a beautiful pool and amazing breakfast if you opted for it. Unless you are dead set on eating out for breakfast, I highly suggest adding the breakfast option in your booking. I booked through Agoda and it cost about 10 pounds per person per day for breakfast, it was completely worth it.

Amazing Hotel. At first, I thought I made a mistake booking at this hotel. Because I thought it was far from all the attractions. But then I found out that the underground and bus station is just minutes away walking. And you can go basically everywhere around London in a matter of minutes. The hotel is really nice. Staff was very friendly. The room had everything I need. The bed was very comfortable. The service was professional and quick. The breakfast was a buffet style and was very good. There's a nice fitness room as well as a pool and spa services. So basically a great experience all over. I definitely recommend and I will return the next time I'm in London.

Beautiful hotel, the staff is great, polite, helpful. My view from the room is beautiful!!!

In some ways, The Intercontinental at the O2 should come on prescription. It's got it all: healing powers, grumpy receptionists and pharmaceutically-priced options. Overall, I keep coming back. The rigmarole goes something like this. Book a massage (because you neeeeeed it - something about grey January days), add a spa pass (already a high bill is accumulating); sit in the spa thinking, the cocktail bar here is amazing... read full review on blackheath.london

So elegant, beautiful views, really friendly and professional hospitality. They have a great bar called the Clipper bar to go for breakfast and get some good appetizers and some proper English tea. A must see place to stay and experience.

It is not the friendliest place to get too. It is still quite a bit of wall when as you exit North Greenwich station on the Jubilee line. There are various choices to choose from dining - with 3 restaurants to choose from - and 2 bars. Make sure you visit the sky bar, on the 18th floor. I like the view and space. Really makes one feel very comfortable. There is a small section where it could be closed off for private parties. I had a tour round the hotel and I had been lucky enough to stay, I'll indulge in the pool, spa and the luxurious rooms. There is construction work going on building a sheltered space through to the o2 but with all those facilities in the hotel, I'm could spend a whole day inside. And if you can afford to stay there then I guess your mode of transport would not be on TFL.

We arrived well after booking in time but reception was still in full flow and so friendly. That bar was a magnet. Service was quick, professional and friendly. All four of us loved it. Later up the stairs, couldn't find the lift due to a few too many, methinks. The room was large and comfy with a wonderful bathroom down a short flight of stairs. Everything we needed for an overnight stay was there. Not a lover of the view though. A car park. But it was night so I lived with it for one night. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet. Everything you could want for a full English. A very busy restaurant. Great coffee and service. All in all a wonderful stay and we will certainly be using this hotel in the future.

After all, we've just had New Year's Eve and the next one isn't due for 364 days. Even so, it's worth considering our experience at The Pilot on the night of December 31, 2022. They could not have been more curmudgeonly and unwelcoming, waiting to hasten us on our way, with the servers failing even to wish us a Happy New Year. The place was practically empty, the food indifferent and the wait staff sulky. The two young women who looked in on us had faces like thunder, so much so we felt like apologising for turning up to have dinner. They couldn't wait to get rid of us and we left at 11, knowing it was better to be somewhere they actually wanted guests. The pub management should look into why their staff's morale is so bad they vent their temper on diners.

It is positioned at the end of a lone terrace of Victorian cottages - surrounded by a never ending development of high rise blocks. The Pilot attracts a captive audience of office workers and labourers from the surrounding sites. Mind you, it could hold its own even compared to more competitively located pubs. They have an impressive choice of beers, and not just white wine for the ladies (sorry, couldn't resist). The pub has been done up carefully to appeal to diners without losing the feel of a real pub. The beer garden is nonedescript in its design, and the sight of half finished appartment blocks is just depressing, but it is still lovely to be able to sit outside on a summer's evening. The food menu is somewhat predictable and we almost ordered fish and chips when the waitress read us the list of daily specials. The duck breast served with sweet potato gnocchi was impossible to resist, and we were not disappointed. I later saw the description on a board by the bar, and apparently the stringy bits in the sauce were meant to be chicoree - not quite up to restaurant standard, but overcooked sauce is forgivable in a pub (the duck was cooked perfectly and still pink inside). It's just that little bit too far to be the obvious choice for O2 visitors, but well worth the effort.

This is really not near London at all, nor is it within walking distance of anything, AND it's nearly two hours from the Southampton cruise port. I must point that out right away. We took hired cars everywhere as the London Underground was not very near either. The hotel itself was clean and nice, and it offered a very good free hot breakfast with plenty of seating. There is also a Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel that was pretty tasty. The fire alarm went off VERY early on one of the days we were there, and then we were left without hot water or flushing toilets for several hours. Thank goodness we were already ready for the day. The elevator only fit a few people and was one of the smallest I have ever been in -- but it was working while we were there. I recommend this hotel if you want to do something in Greenwich. I have stayed in DoubleTrees in the past and was comforted I would be staying in a brand known to me. It was a long traveling day: I had flown from Las Vegas to LAX, retrieved hubs, made sure all our travel togs were in order, flew LAX to Heathrow and then took a 90 minute cab ride from Heathrow to Greenwich. Holy Mole were we exhausted. I booked the hotel via hotels.com and was wary of using a third party. Upon check in, my worries were unfounded. My hilton rewards account was requested and provided, we were checked in quickly and provided a warm cookie which our weary jet lagged asses gratefully accepted. Once we found our room (small incident with a 4 that looked like a 9) we settled in. Yes the room was tiny but it was quiet and the bed was comfortable. There was an electric kettle in the cupboard and a sturdy hair dryer in the desk. The bathroom was a bit strange. There was no shower door, just a partial glass partition which meant the floor got wet. All the shelf space was above the toilet. Ehh. A bit annoying but not worth making a fuss over. We had a lovely view, there was free wifi and a couple of bottles of water in the room as well. But the bed, sooo lovely. The bar adjacent to the lobby served up some mean drinks. Yum. If I return to the U.K. I have no issues staying here again.

First, the other stuff: I didn't love the location because I wasn't going to the trade show my husband was attending. It was the perfect location for events at the Excel Center. For sightseeing, not so much. But I highly recommend it for the Excel. The quality is what I expect from Hilton - the accommodations are quite good, the restaurant food is also quite good, and the service is exceptional. So did it exceed expectations? Not much. But my expectations of Hilton properties are extremely high and they met them in every regard save one. They far exceeded my expectations at the bar. And the bar is the point of my review. After an exhausting day of travel (I met my husband at the hotel on the second last day of his trade show) I just needed a drink. I went in to the bar wishing I could get my favorite drink but not feeling very hopeful. I love a proper whiskey sour. A proper whiskey sour is made with egg white, bitters, and a cherry (in my case, several cherries.) Hardly anyplace makes them that way. The common fail is the egg white. I assume people don't want to make them that way because it's hard on the arm; you really have to shake it. A lot. But a proper one is outstanding. So I went over to the bar and inquired. Then I met the staff: Lucas, Marcu, Monika, and Sergio (I must apologize at this point because it took me so long to write this that I can't remember who had which role.) They were all fantastic! When I asked, the manager heard me inquire and immediately interjected. He said he'd be happy to go to the kitchen for an egg so the bartender could make it. When the server brought it to the table it had a cherry but was lacking bitters. So I asked if they had them to add and was immediately assured that she'd take care of it. I also asked for extra cherries. The drink returned a minute later, bitters in a pretty pattern and a pick filled with cherries. It was perfection!!! For the rest of my stay my cocktails were perfect! I ate every meal in the bar as well. I'm sure the service in the restaurant was great, but the bar staff took such good care of me that I didn't want to go anywhere else. My compliments to these individuals! They go above and beyond, making their guests feel valued. I was about to book this hotel for another trade show in September but it's already booked. I'm not surprised. Anyone who has stayed there once would want to stay again. I recommend the hotel, but the bar is a must!
