While I have no issues with the care they have provided since being a patient, I cannot say the same for their front office staff. When I have to "project manage" their staff as one of my projects as part of my day job, taking valuable time out of my business day (for which costs my company money) to have to keep calling every day and making sure their staff performs the most basic of tasks (like actually providing via email and fax ALL of my medical records and related doctor visit notes to an insurance provider (because the insurance provider had provided proof they received nothing from their office)), that is inexcusable. When I have to drive to their office to make sure something which should have been done, and their assistant who felt is "annoyed" that I am interrupting her busy day and talks to me as if I am a nuisance, yeah you can bet I am going to be pissed off. The front office staff are incompetent at best and lazy, unsupportive at worst. Their only value add is scheduling. And also FYI, they look as far from professional as staff can get, with exposed tattoos and nose and lip rings. read more

Dr. Golden is quite charming, so... I was happy to wait an hour to see him, until HE could not make time to see ME. This doctor's office is ALWAYS OVER BOOKED. So, expect to wait a long time to get a visit, and to waste even more time in the waiting room. I was *still* OK will waiting, as the service was good. Then, I suffered a disabling accident, and things changed. Dr. Golden did not make time to see me anymore, and I was forced to see a "nurse practitioner, who had NO knowledge of my severe injuries and no bedside manner to treat me with the kindness and patience chronic pain requires. She once greeted me with "What's wrong NOW, Lynn?!" I was hospitalized for 2 weeks at MGH, released w/ condition that I see Dr. Golden that week...BUT HE REFUSED, claiming he'd just seen me a month ago & it was unnecessary. Other Yelp reviewers claim Dr. Golden does not spend any time with his patients & all sick visits are with nurse practitioner. THE DEAL: If you have any serious condition, illness or injury, I don't think this is the best Primary Care Doctor choice. He appears to prefer treating colds, flu and mild injuries. read more

This office ofDoctors and people saved my life... (and I mean literally). They sat outside with me while I waited for an ambulance and were extremely professional and caring. Giving so much encouragement you could feel they really cared about you. Best Dr.'s and P.A.'s along with all the hard working people there. I have been a patient of Dr. Joe August for a few years now. I could not be happier. I don't know where else I could find a doctor who will sit down with you and spend as much time as he did. He was more thorough than any other doctor I have ever visited. The down side is that it is very difficult to get an appointment within 5 or 6 months unless it is urgent. Once when I asked for an appointment for a knee injury, I saw one of the Nurse Practitioners, I think she spent no more than 30 seconds in the office with me and said if it bothers me in 2 weeks to call an Orthopedic Surgeon. read more

Good doctors with incompetent front office...enjoyed and finally found a doctor who was thorough, thoughtful, communicative and interested and now ready to leave because I can't get a follow up appointment with her again after 4 calls from me to them over a 3 week period of calling. And this after the doctor asked that I make an appointment with her. I asked twice when they recommend I call back and got a tirade of "I don't knows" followed by a suggestion from me that I could call in a week that they might be able to assist followed by a final "I told you I don't know. Patient beware. I waited 6 months for a physical after being with Dr Michael Golden for over 20 years. But he doesn't take my new Tufts insurance. Meaning he doesn't make as much money from this Tufts plan versus others. So I am told to find a new Doctor. Unbelievable. read more

The staff on the phone continues to be rude and unprofessional. I have no chance of ever seeing my doctor, always get thrown to a nurse practitioner. When I think that the phone staff can't be any worse, they prove me wrong! I'm still waiting for my doctors nurse to call me back weeks later after 2 phone calls, so she clearly doesn't get her messages! I've seen 5 specialists in the past year and I've never gotten to one and had my referral actually be there without having to call them up and yell at them from the new office even though I follow the procedure on their referral line and give them major lead time. Way too big of an office! I still like my doctor, it's a shame that I can't stand the office anymore. They clearly just don't do their jobs! read more

I am so happy to see that this group is now affiliated again with Partners HealthCare. The clinicians take care of my entire family and would never want to leave this group. They really care about the patients and it shows. The doctors were not terrible. However, they are crooks. During a routine physical I mentioned some knee pain, after a short discussion (1-3 min) I was referred to an orthopedic specialist. I was charged for two visits to the doctor that day, one for the physical and one for the "knee consultation" which was "resolved" through the powers of delegation. I was also charged for my "nonstandard" bloodwork and urine tests after I explicitly asked if it was a standard procedure for a physical and was told "yes". My free covered annual check up wound up costing more than $100. Further clarification, I called up the office to speak about the above issue. The lady at the desk told me as long as a patient even mentions something other than the primary purpose of the original visit they will charge for a second visit for the time spent resolving the issue. read more

At the recommendation of a friend (who is also an RN and acupuncturist), I went to Dr. Michael Golden for an annual checkup. A really relaxed, down-to-earth, kind of doctor, I thought I needed to pinch myself. LOL. Excellent bedside manner - he doesn't talk down or over you and is very thorough, never brushing you off or shooing you out the door. I know several other people seeing Dr. Golden and they all love him. You'll enjoy the artwork in the exam rooms courtesy of his two young boys (the usual cotton ball and macaroni artwork from elementary and preschool). I've been seeing Dr. Golden for a year and a half now and in the three times I've been to his office it has been a good experience. My first visit I did have to wait over an hour to see him but one of the docs was out sick and the other happened to be on vacation that week so he was swamped. My other visits have started promptly or no more than 15 minutes after my appointment time. read more

Been a patient of Dr. Golden since 2003. He was great, so it's sad that today, I write my first Yelp review ever, and it's a negative review. This business has been Immensely successful since they started out. But today they are so busy with so very many patients many many thousands of patients that it is nearly impossible to get in to see my doctor anymore. I need to reschedule my physical; the next available date was more than a year away. More recently they mistakenly cut one of my prescription doses in half. This had a very very negative impact on me until I figured out what it happened. They chalked it up to a typo. These days if I need to see my doctor I have to either see the nurse or someone else who is available. But seeing Dr. Golden is basically impossible these days. They've also made some mistakes for scheduling procedures. Case in point - today I showed up on time and they said I had to wait an hour because they had given me the incorrect time. Their success is obviously good for business but I have seen very very clearly that patient care has suffered in service to profitability. read more

Contrary to what you may read on this site, this practice is a superb one with very caring and excellent staff. The reason some people see a Nurse Practitioner is that this practice tries to get you in the day you call if at all possible. And the NP is in constant communication with your doctor so that level of care is never compromised. Dr. Golden is a gifted physician who only cares about his patient's welfare above all costs. He is neither judgemental nor preachy, but rather strives to educate and work with the patient on practical solutions to health problems that work. Lastly, enough can't be said about how fantastic his nurse is Katie. She is always pleasant, upbeat, and really caring. I take offense to what has been written here because I know if my life and health and well being were at stake (and they have been) there is no one else but Dr. Golden, Katie, and this group that I would want to treat me and heal me. read more

I had 2 appointments with Dr. Donald Kleykamp and on my first visit he read my history and said "I don't have time for this" , i believe he said this because i had a history of drug abuse.From that point on he treated me like a drug seeking addict when in reality i didn't ask him for anything.Dr. Donald Kleykamp was the most condescending unprofessional doctor i have ever met. Former patient of Family Medicine Associates starting with Hamilton,MA and then moving on to Middleton, MA. The doctor I was seeing was great (Dr. Michael Yoon) but the staff was poor, constantly messing up my prescriptions, non-responsive to CVS Pharmacy when CVS called them on my behalf for refills that I had requested and then finally calling them in to the wrong location, etc. They even refused to call my mail in pharmacy Medco asking ME to ask them to fax THEM something and when Medco did they couldn't find it and told ME to call again!! I finally had enough of their office nonsense and found another doctor. The doctor I signed up with at Internal Medicine Physicians was Dr. Joseph Shaloub who has been terrific and the staff has been excellent. I have no more worries about prescriptions being called in on time and they have been very accommodating and helpful to me if I need anything. They run a very smooth operation. There have been no more prescription screw ups at all and will do anything for me if I need them to. I have been very happy with them and Dr. Shaloub. read more
