They are an excellent family practice with male and female doctors who really take care of their patients.

I love WFP. I'm always greeted by someone friendly and helpful at the front desk (they're not always super cheerful, I'll admit, but everyone has off days so whatever). I also never have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen, which is pretty impressive since I go there a lot for sick visits that they're always able to squeeze in at the last second. My pcp is Dr. Celler, and she is absolutely fantastic. She is very patient and a very attentive listener, and is great at explaining things in a way that I understand (though never in a condescending way). I know she has a very high volume of patients, but I have never felt as though I was being rushed out or ignored. I do understand some of the negative reviews, particularly with regard to Dr. Solomon (both of my parents have been seeing him for a very long time and used to be big fans of his, but have nothing but negative things to say now), but other than that I personally have never had anything but really positive experiences here. read more

I've been going to this office since January of this year (2007) and have been disappointed with the quality of care there more often than not. The majority of my appointments have been on a last minute basis so because of that i've seen the physician's assistants. There are 2 of them and i really wish i could remember their names! The first one i saw was very unpleasant, not warm, bad bedside manner in my opinion and i decided i didn't want to see her again. Unfortunately i did see her on one more occasion and got the same treatment so i don't think it was just an off day. The other physicians assistant did my physical and i liked her much better. Saw her again after that and she didn't seem interested or concerned enough in anything i was saying to even pay attention to me! I was completely turned off of the practice after this visit. Finally i decided to make an appointment to see the PCP i chose. (HMO's are wonderful that way. I picked a PCP randomly and never had an appt with him). I had to wait a good month to see him and really didn't care for him either. I'm sure this is making me sound like an incredibly picky person but i think EVERYONE should be picky when it comes to health care! You need to feel comfortable in both the personality of your doctor/nurse etc as well as feel as though they have the skills and are thorough as well. So during my visit with my PCP he gave me a perscription to take for 2 weeks. It didn't improve my symptoms whatsoever so i left a message at the office asking for him to return my call. Never heard. So i call the next day. Still nothing. I'm pretty fed up at this point and am currently looking for a new practice. ****Also. I have never ever had a nurse/phlembotomist have a problem finding a vein on me to give blood. But on TWO different occasions with different phlebotomists they both were unable and made the experience really horrible and painful for me. read more

I started going to WFP because I worked in the same building but I kept them even after I moved my job and life to Boston. My doctor is Dr. Celler who remembers details about you that aren't necessarily in your chart. She's great and very genuinely wants to make you healthy and feel better. She always sees you within 10 minutes of your appointment time which is also important. I came from a doctor that had an average of 6 week wait time to make an appointment, even for emergencies (you had to go to a minute clinic or ER if it was an emergency). When I started going to WFP, I had a series of bug bites that were becoming very painful and they fit me in for an appointment the next hour. It was with a PA, but she was kind and wonderful and gave me a diagnosis of shingles, (which needs an immediate diagnosis to begin medication, and ensure public safety). I have not a good experience with this office. The examination of my twin girls was not good, it seemed that they have little experience with babies and toddlers. And they lost both medical records of my twin girls. After going there almost every day, they finally found it. They were rude about the whole situation, giving me the feeling that this was happening more often. read more

Joel Solomon's practice at Winchester Family Physicians has been incompetent. Staff loses records faxed or sent to them multiple times and electronic records are rife with errors which they make as arduous as possible to correct if at all, both missing critical health information and false medical conditions entered. Joel does a poor job in coordinating care from specialists, is nearly impossible to see in person, is careless in clinical interviewing, prescribing and interpreting tests. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Celler for many years and I couldn't be more happy with the care I receive from her and her associates.

I have been continually disappointed with everyone at Winchester Family Physicians to the point where I am uninterested in ever going back there again for primary care. The receptionists are always rude when they answer the phone and multiple times they have failed to fax my prescriptions (they have told me it has been faxed and then I go to the pharmacist and they say they never received it). Also, I have not actually seen a doctor there in at least three years (for some reason my "doctor" is always away on vacation or unable to schedule a physical) and they pass me on to a physician's assistant that I have never seen before (therefore keeping me from developing a client-patient relationship). I have prescriptions on an automatic refill and on multiple occasions they have stopped the refill and never notified me, only for me to find out after hours (they are only open until 4pm on weekdays) by the pharmacist that they can't fill my prescription. When I finally get a hold of a receptionist they explain that I need to see my "doctor" again before they can fill it and when I try to make an appointment guess what? My doctor is out of town for the next three weeks. As someone working in the medical field myself I am completely aghast that a primary care can function so poorly. I have only kept going there out of convenience to where I live but truly they are not enough of a convenience to keep my business anymore. read more

My husband and I have been going to WFP for 10 years. We like them very much. We both have different doctors. My husband's, Dr. Celler, is the warm touchy feely type. My doctor, Dr. Poppe is more clinical. However, I can tell you that Dr. Poppe has consistently and accurately diagnosed and treated all issues I have had. My P.A., Amy Hasselfeld is wonderful. She is warm and also has always treated me extremely effectively. We are both very happy with the practice. read more

I will never go back this hospital. I had emergency and they are supposed to call me back soon. I waited for 2 hours and called them again. And I found out the receptionist (dark hair and heavy make-up i have seen her before and she was so rude at that time too!) was thinking to call me back two days later! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!! I also have read a lot of negative reviews about the doctors at Winchester Family, but I think nothing could be further from the truth. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. I have always been treated with respect, even when I was a crazy person from the pain. I have been seen by Dr. Jones who is an angel. She sits and listens to everything you have to say, does not try to rush you out of the office, and explains everything to me clearly and concisely. She is very rarely running late and I see her almost immediately, and yes, she is genuinely concerned about my health. She is more than patient with me when I ramble on and on and always lets me know exactly what I need to do to help in my overall medical management. I cannot fathom anyone in that office being rude or unpleasant to a patient. Sadly, if you have decided to see another physician instead of Dr. Jones, you will only be seeing "second best," but good luck, we all have choices. read more
