They're not even the…read morebest studio for someone wanting to focus 100% on ballet in Greenville but acceptable and may possibly fit your needs but would recommend doing some research. If you're looking for other forms of dance like tap, hip hop, contemporary, etc then I really wouldn't recommend it at all. The management actually seemed to not respect all forms of dance like hiphop and also were not supportive of the competition teams. They seemed to only care about the ballet program. The competition dance side, I think they call it Greenville Jazz, had lot of dissatisfyied parents and kids from what I understood and the signups for next year dropped off substantially. Saw some individual awards but never any news about a competition team getting a really high score or having top finishes. The recital was also on a Tuesday night during the school year with a Monday night rehearsal. The kids did not get home until well past 10pm which is completely unacceptable for a school night with young kids. Most all dance studios do weekend recitals. As far as costs go, they seem more expensive than others and seem to have policies that "nickel and dime" you to death throughout the year.

Will say it was an interactive class, which was great as it was engaging and allowed each person a chance to learn the skills and tricks of the trade. So if you are in the area when they have the next Freeview, or if you are local to the area, then this is a hidden gem for entertainment.

The acting was excellent. Everyone in the cast kept character even when in the background. The main cast was powerfully on target and very believable and enjoyable. The supporting cast was able to bring the whole stage to life. Did i mention how much I enjoy it? Lastly, all the voices were powerful and right on key. I wish we would have known of this theater these many years of us visiting Greenville. If you can catch a production...do it. You will get your money's worth and leave with a smile. This was not our first experience with the Logos Theatre but it was an excellent and highly…read morerecommended experience. We attended the Saturday matinee of the Prince Caspian production. It was outstanding. This production was a first ever stage screenplay written based on the C.S. Lewis Narnia character. I was amazed at the quality of the production and in particular the puppetry and the intricate scene changes. Having seen productions on Broadway as well as in Los Angeles and Toronto and even the traveling Broadway series a our local Peace Center, I can say that the Logos production can proudly stand side by side with these venues, losing nothing in terms of the production, execution and talent. The facility and seats are different, of course, but I cannot say enough how impressed we were. Highly recommended and very well done.

Well who knew? I had heard of the Younts Center but never visited there until today. Our younger…read moredaughter took us to a performance of "Groovin'" this afternoon. The Center is remarkable...sleek, clean, sophisticated, well maintained. There is ample parking right on the site.The seating is comfortable and easily located. There is a concession area selling soft drinks and some alcoholic beverages. Upon entering, we were greeted by delightful, fun, friendly volunteers who seemed genuinely glad to have us there! They were cordial and helpful and at the end of the performance, they were truly interested in whether or not we had enjoyed the musical. Some of the volunteers were dressed in attire reminiscent of Sha Na Na and poodle skirts, all to enhance the theme of 50's to 70's music. The performance was excellent. The numbers were rollicking and the energy level exhibited by the performers was over the top. We were encouraged to dance, sing, and participate. This was an uplifting, "get your groove on" kind of event and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Afterward, the entertainers were in the lobby to receive our accolades and visit with us. Such a nice touch after knocking themselves out for two hours to entertain us. This was the last performance of this particular show but I'm impressed enough with the Younts Center for the Performing Arts that I'll be checking their schedules to return!

SMALL TOWN, BIG SOUND!…read more Tonight we had tickets to see a performance of First Impressions performed by the Fountain Inn Symphony Orchestra at the Younts Center For Performing Arts. The Center is named for Melvin and Dollie Younts who largely financed the recent renovations of the center. This center was actually an old high-school that has been undergoing renovations for the past three years. It is now a beautiful entertainment venue with very comfortable seating for 416 attendees and great acoustics. My husband and I arrive very early to get the lay of the land and to pick up our "will call" tickets. We were able to access the building at 6:30 but would not be seated until 7:00 for the 7:30 show. In the meantime, we just hung out with the locals and learned a lot about the local area. Fountain Inn has a population of 9,000 residents. They have a small business district that consists of locally owned restaurants that all seem to close down by 9pm, (We tried!). They have just cleared the way for their first chain restaurant, (McDonald's) which will be coming soon. Woo Hoo! I bet the local kids are super excited! We met a couple of the ushers who regularly assist at the venue and they were very impressed by the fact that we were from the Atlanta area and repeatedly thanked us for visiting. They were just so appreciative that we would come to their town when there are much larger venues available. Good music is good music and size does not matter! Tonight's show was conducted by Dr. Michael Moore. As I was enjoying the performance of Beethoven's First Symphony, I actually wondered if there really is such a thing as a bad classical performance. If so, I have never experienced it. The music always transports me to a place of relaxation where I imagine that I am listening to a beautiful score or a flawless professional recording. The second half of the show was a bit more dramatic and featured the very talented trombone artist, Wes Lebo. It was a very nice show and perfectly balanced show and an enjoyable evening. We were surprised when it ended and were left wanting more. It seemed really short to us because we are simply accustomed to major shows and productions that last for at least two and a half hours. We do realize that this is a small town that runs on a different clock. Always leave them wanting more! A performance at the Younts Center is the perfect activity for date night. However, if you want to try one of the local restaurants, you will want to eat first and then attend the performance. Amy, Kim, and all of the other teachers are not only incredibly skilled, but also genuinely caring and thoughtful. They take the time to really get to know each student- understanding their individual strengths and helping them grow both as dancers and as young people. The atmosphere is warm and encouraging, never high-pressure. It's clear that the focus is not just on excellent technique, which they absolutely provide, but also on building character, confidence, and poise. Our daughter has gained so much more than just dance training here- she has developed lifelong values and a deep love for the art form. We couldn't be more grateful for Amy and her dedication (and heart!) that her studio pours into every student. We highly recommend!!

What an absolute disgrace the "new" Cornerstone Ballet in Simpsonville is…read more Yesterday, while the studio is "closed" for Christmas break we received a billing statement. They had the nerve to bill us for recital fees twice for $125 (not including show tickets) that were already paid according to their billing statement. The fee includes costume and venue RENTAL! Next, they overcharged us - almost doubled the payment - every single month since the start of the year. We caught it, and their bill stated we still owed $125. We contacted the owner about this and another concern, the age of the dancers in the class. After "observation week" last Thursday we questioned the owner Amy at the time of the billing issues why the "6-8 experienced ballet class" only had two students this age (the others looked about 4 and were definitely below six, even wearing different colored leotards to represent their "age per the website dress code). We were denied a phone call to discuss this and other billing questions. The "refunded" money from the overcharge wasn't even directly refunded to our bank account! They actually "credited" the dance account and kept all the extra money for themselves - in advance). Despite all of the errors and dishonesty, we were told by the owner Amy over text to speak to her employee when they return after break. We explained how disappointed we are (over text) in response to the owner, and that we deserve a simple phone call. We also asked for an updated invoice before the end of the break so we could confirm the financials were correct. Today we received a passive aggressive email stating that the students were at least six years old (we have video of the students who are clearly 4 years old wearing the light blue uniform for students ages 4-5) and Amy, the owner, kicked my daughter out VIA EMAIL ! She cited we are not a good "fit." Yup, an eight year old was kicked out because they were unwilling to have a simple conversation "over break" and resolve the matter. This space is very beautiful inside and outside. LED lit trees welcome you in, which is just magical at night. Friendly workers distribute tickets at will call and great priced snacks and drinks before the show and during intermission. The bathroom can be a little hard to find, I wish there was better signage. The theatre is a perfect medium size. The seats are comfortable and the ambiance is upscale and lovely. Sound, lighting, stage design, actors were all great! I would definitely see future productions at this awesome small theatre.
