I've never been a huge fan of barbershops in general (the wait times, the long sessions of just sitting there, and the worry that I will walk out with a botched haircut). I wasn't sure what to expect when walking in, but after just a few minutes of waiting, I had the pleasure of meeting Sway, one of the young and aspiring students at this place. As a college student myself, one of the most important things in the learning process is asking questions; more specifically, students cannot be afraid to ask questions. Better to ask questions and do something right than not ask and mess things up, am I right? Sway was one of the most diligent and caring barbers I have had the pleasure of meeting. Not only did he ask questions pertaining to my exact needs (this was my first haircut in months and I essentially walked in with a birds nest on my head), but him, as well as the student next to us, Ethan, were extremely patient and explained every detail until I had a good idea of what I wanted. What followed was the most meticulous and enjoyable haircut I have ever received in my 22 years of life. I understand that as a student, there is more pressure to not make mistakes. However, Sway not only took on the challenge that was my mess of hair, he embraced it and performed marvelously! His great personality made me feel at ease almost immediately, and I had a feeling he was going to nail this haircut, yet he still managed to blow my expectations out of the water. Easily the BEST haircut experience I've ever had, and the CHEAPEST too. I almost felt like I was robbing the place! This place is full of bright students who are already shaping up to be experts in this field. First time ever coming to a barber school, definitely a good experience. The one who had done my hair was Karli Madden. Got a straight razor head shave and she was quick and thorough, and great person to talk to. Now knowing they have schools that help train barbers, I think I found a new go to. Great price as well! Horrible service. They Took 1 hour and not even close to what I wanted. The owner was super rude he said don't come back here because I said I wasn't going to pay for something I did not want and I was going there for 2 years straight. To make matters worse today is my birthday and my hair looks horrible! Don't ever go here because the owners are super rude. Was unfortunate enough to have a meeting with Nicole the supposed dean of this joke of school this afternoon. Was looking for simple information to help my sister be done with this horrible experience they're calling a barber college. Once I arrived I informed Nicole of my name, which is (Jose); she repeatedly chose to call me Juan which I know was done which malicious intent. I can't believe someone like her can call themselves a professional, she's inherently a racist. Not only were they extremely unhelpful. They are now trying to extort my sister for hours she hasn't even completed, just for her to have what's rightfully owed. This makes no sense. I will be following up with an attorney. For a decent haircut, wash, and shave, the value is excellent. Much better than going to one of the larger chains. It's owned by a family and they do an excellent job to ensure that you are satisfied with your haircut. The student haircuts are only $7, but they are supervised by the instructors so that your haircut is to your satisfaction. I especially enjoy getting a real straight-edge razor shave. This is by far the best barber school in the Phoenix area.I always had an interest in becoming a barber but didn't know anything about hair, or how to cut it. The instructors are very organized, and well versed on all aspects of the barber license requirements. They go through the lectures chapter by chapter, which makes the written test no problem. This school is for any individual who wants to become a professional barber, learn good work ethic, and become well versed in all types of hair cuts. If a student has the determination to learn, he/she will be a successful barber. Don't hesitate to pick this school to start your barber journey.
