The first picture is my Ozzy boy now and the second picture is from our first evening together at a pizza place. His old owners surrendered him for being too destructive but he just needed to be inside and have a chewy treat. I named him Ozzy because he trashed stuff in the past like a rockstar and Ozzy Osbourne had recently passed. With a destructive label on his kennel card and his fear of people-- he was the small dog there the longest. He was shaking and so scared but I wanted to rescue a dog who didn't have much of a chance. Ozzy now knows many tricks, listens well, and is a loyal buddy. We are enjoying our first summer together by going to the dog beach and spending lots of time outside. Thank you to the workers at the Harbor Animal Services for picking out a good boy for me. Your team took good care when nobody else gave a hoot about him. If you're reading this and thinking about getting a new best friend (my 16 year old best buddy Sid died in 2025) please consider adopting a dog who nobody else wants. Ozzy is a superstar now!!!

He's an amazing cuddle bug who loves pets, car rides, and treats. We're still working on some toy possessiveness, but it has improved immensely from where it started. He's not a danger to anyone and has even been able to play with other dogs in small group settings a few times. We also fostered a dog for a weekend to help with potty training before it went to its new home, and our dog absolutely loved it. Scout has truly been the missing piece we didn't know we needed. He can be a little lazy at times, but he has so much personality packed into his small body. Adopting a shelter animal takes time, patience, and understanding--but time really does heal. Don't let initial behavioral notes or interactions at the shelter deter you from finding your perfect match--your fur friend, soul dog... or cat... or even a critter. We've even created a whole backstory for him, and we genuinely believe adopting him was one of the best decisions we've ever made. He gets so many compliments on how he looks, and he soaks up all the attention he gets from strangers.

I found Fine Feathered Friends on Facebook. Our 9 year old cockatiel was in need of a friend…read more Rather than purchase from a breeder or off a big-box store, my family wanted to adopt. We adopted our two other birds from local fosters and non-profits. After texting the number of the organization, I was immediately in touch with Marie, sweetest person-ever! We coordinated a date and time to come by and see the available cockatiels ready for adoption. I brought my partner and daughter along. As we got a review of the birds, Marie's hyacinth macaw Howard came over to greet us. Such a handsome, boy! We landed in adopting out a young male cockatiel (likely to be 1 year old due to the pearls still visible in his feathers) named "Patrick". He'd been saved from the elements, rescued after being dropped from the sky by a crow. Marie helped get him back in tip top shape, provided me the labs for his current health state (healthy!) and his DNA sexed paperwork. I appreciated the level of care and service Marie provided. She was professional, detailed, and super accommodating. I really loved her level of attention to understanding each and every bird's quirks, preferences, and history. Before we left, Marie provided a bit of food, snacks, and helped us pick a few perches and toys that "Patrick" would be happy with from his current cage. I was very grateful to be able to donate towards the foundation through Venmo. They also do cash or check, or Zelle. The feel the contribution/donation fee is minuscule compared to the value you give back to new member(s) of your flock. I understand only time will heal him from the trauma of his ordeal. We hope the love, care, and patience, our family can provide him with the right environment to help him heal at his own pace. Matilda *previously Denim* is healthy, sweet and has done great in exploring her surroundings in just 2 days with us. She has adjusted well to our bulldog, cat and bird. I adopted two cats for Shelby. This was my first cat since childhood and as an adult I'd only had a…read moredog. When the cats arrived their tummies were a bit upset. I was going through a lot and have a child and all the vets were full. Shelby got me a vet appointment and I didn't have to pay for it. She also got our cats diarrhea meds. I was still freaking out and she offered to foster them for me until they were better. This is not how most rescues treat you after you adopt a pet. Shelby truly cares about the animals she adopts out and it was worth every penny. If you are adopting a pet definitely contact them and consider donating because they do good work. Our cats have the best temperaments as well.

Bonnie basically told me my situation doesn't matter and that I need to keep this cat because no one is going to adopt this cat(I thought help getting stray cats adopted was the whole point of their organization?). She kept repeating this so much and talking so much it was hard to get any of my words in or even to hang up. She told me even if I don't want to keep the cat, just lock the cat up in a room because cats don't need a lot of space. Uhhhhh is this really the best solution Pet Assistance can provide?

The staff was friendly and the care the gave my little pup was great. She needed some additional service to biopsy a mass that was on one of her ovaries. They called to get approval and explained what needed to be done. They took such great care of our little Canela. Pick up was fast she was sent home with her meds, they gave praises to our little one. They followed up a couple of days after to see how she was doing and called me later the following week with the biopsy results. All was good! The cost was very reasonable and I will be taking her back for her vaccines.

Upon arrival at the Whole FoodS Store in El Segundo where you advise me Pal Rescue would be. I saw Olena was taken by family, when you advised in the last e-mail with the following statement: "Mable and Olena are available. They will be at our next adoption. They would both get along with cats." I was met by "Norma" whom became defensive and unclear when asked for her name, name of the supervisors and the process of adopting the dog. "Norma" became defensive, rude, and unclear about the adoption process; she began speaking about her personal life indicating she is a volunteer who works 60 hours a week and has a child. I quickly advised her that her personal life has nothing to do with the process of adopting a dog. She became irate and tore my application and throw it in the trash. I was applaud of the types of volunteers and services this agencies has. The moral: e-mail, e-mail, e-mail to get all the details of adopting.
