    Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 lens
    PJ D.

James is a lifesaver. Nikon is charging an arm & a leg for a lens repair now a these days, regardless of what is wrong with it. Same price. Got my lens repaired at less than half the cost of what Nikon was charging me. Dropped off at Camera Exposure in North Park. Repair was done & ready for pick up in 1 week. I'm sure if would have been done quicker if it wasn't for the holiday weekend. Highly recommended.

I don't think this is my lens cap lol let me know if I need to come back

I left my camera with them just before we had to shelter in place early March due to COVID-19. Henry at Foto Express in downtown SJ recommended I come to this repair shop to have my grandfathers camera be looked at. Thank you Lee and Manfred for holding on to my Canonet QL! Lee called me this morning to tell me that my camera was ready for pickup, but he also gave me an estimate. I must have misinterpreted what he said over the phone, but I thought he said the camera was FULLY repaired, and they were asking me to pay the remaining $150 for what they already worked on. I was worried so I went over today to pick it up but it hasn't been worked on yet. Misunderstanding or not, they seem like professionals and I'd trust them with my camera again for the full repair since they have friends and connections for camera parts! Hopefully as long as we all get out of this pandemic lol :) thanks again!

Fred did an incredible job resurrecting my father's 1958 Yashica D!
    Steve M.

I had enlisted Fred's help ten years ago when my wife's Sony digital camera developed spots on the optical sensor. He was located in Downtown Mountain View in 2004. Impeccable service back then, and I kept him in mind for any future repair needs. In 2011, I dusted off the old 1958 Yashica D TLR camera left to me by my late father. It had taken hundreds of photos in its time. But the mechanisms were worn out. The film rolling mechanism was cracked in several places, and when I turned the knob, the inner workings fell apart. The shutter winder was also inoperative. I lamented the passing of this great little camera. Then I remembered Fred. I took the Yashica D to him, and he said he would take a look at it. I gave him a $50 check as deposit, which he told me he would return if the camera was irreparable. Within a couple of weeks, he told me that he did not have the parts to rebuild the required subsystems. I asked him to hold on to the camera until an opportunity arose. Cut to 2014. Fred got back in touch with me to say he could now fix my camera. I said "Go!". I arrived to pick it up, and could not believe the incredible work Fred had done. I paid him for the balance. I've since taken the camera on a shoot of Bay Area sites, and it works as if brand new. Can't wait to develop my pictures - and I will update this post accordingly. Some words about Fred: He is a consummate craftsman, and he really understands optics and mechanical engineering. I also should mention that Fred is very friendly and a great person to talk to. We talked for about 30 minutes, about cameras and all sorts of things. I have great trust and respect for him, and if I ever have any need for camera repair again, I am going to him! I highly recommend International Camera Technicians. You will not be disappointed.

Could you please tell me how much would it cost to clean Canon lens 24-70? And Canon body 500D. Thanks in advance!

Once I decide I need something, I get fixated on it and need it in that moment. I typically buy my electronics from Best Buy, but they didn't have the flash I wanted in stock locally, and waiting a few days for delivery clearly wasn't an option for me. So I started looking up local camera stores and found George's Camera. Lucky me! I called, and they told me they had ONE left in stock. At that point, I wasn't taking any chances. I immediately asked if I could purchase it over the phone and pick it up that same day. They were more than accommodating. Now, this is where my poor planning comes in. The store closes at 6 PM, and I risked it all by getting there around 5:56 PM. I was already slightly panicked knowing I had cut it way too close, but what I absolutely did NOT anticipate was pulling up and discovering a Farmer's Market happening and nowhere to park! At that point, I knew I had officially pushed my luck. I called the store in a panic, and to my surprise someone actually answered the phone. Yes, I was suprised because the average business would of just watched it ring. By this time, I had circled around the store again and noticed the metal gate in front of the store was partially closed. My heart dropped. I knew there was no way I would make it in the store before closing. I explained the situation and asked if there was any way they could bring my purchase out to me. At 5:59 PM, ONE minute before closing, a staff member came outside and handed me my flash. Now THAT is customer service! They absolutely didn't have to do that, especially when I was the one showing up at the last possible second, but they truly saved the day. I appreciate them so much. And now, thanks to George's Camera, I'll be up all night practicing (yes, I've never used one ) with a flash I probably had no business impulsively buying in the first place. But considering they had exactly ONE left, let me buy it over the phone, and somehow got it into my hands at 5:59 PM despite a farmers market standing between me and my purchase...I'm choosing to believe I was destined to have this flash. Thank you soooooo much! George's Camera definitely gained a new customer today!

Walking encyclopedias. I'm convinced they collectively know every camera ever created, including the ones that were prototypes, rumors, or fever dreams. I brought in an old Canon my brother gave me--so old it probably qualifies for Social Security--and the gentleman behind the counter with the long white beard took one look and immediately knew its entire genealogy. Extremely helpful, extremely patient, and honestly, I'm 70% sure he's a wizard. If you're in North Park and need anything for your inner shutterbug or just want to bask in the glow of pure photographic tribal knowledge--George's is the spot!

I wasn't given the manual and all I could find online were PDFs that would only load with Flash player (thanks iPhone) and websites of sarcastic owners scolding people to "read their manuals." I was completely SOL, about to miss the entire event I was supposed to record and there was probably no way they were going to refund the cost of the rental equipment. I pulled up Yelp and began seeing that all camera stores in my area where now closed (8:45pm on a Friday night), except for one who didn't list a closing time. I called. Trevor answered. He was just finishing up a shoot and was in my neighborhood. Minutes later, we were on the street, troubleshooting my dilemma. Within moments the issue was resolved. Trevor refused payment, shook my hand, and was off, like a superhero into the night, not looking for gratitude or reward...just out there, doing the right thing. Trevor, thank you so much!
