If you need a passport or renewal save yourself the time! I spent a month in the attempt of getting a passport appointment trying 5-10 times a day. I waited five hours on hold only to be told you have to be 72hrs to travel to renew! The post office was a horrible experience at Detroit Main. The woman jerked me around for 45min, Took 2 photos which in end game were not clear enough pixel. The post office told me to mail renewal in. They do not handle renewals. My sister recommended International Express when she used several years ago. She received passport in three days for company travel. I phoned, got next day appointment which was July 20, 2021. The gal at desk was beautiful, kind, quickly handled my stress! I explained my experience. She took another photo in which looked like normal me, not the worst you could show! She told me to expect passport around Labor Day! Today August 18, 2021 I received my new passport priority express! Thank you for such a terrific experience! This place is a bit hard to find in the PNC building but their service was super fast and very professional. I got notarized my documents here and the price was $5 per page. I got notarized for 3 pages, total came to $15. Before going to this place I went to UPS location asked for quote on getting notary for 3 pages.. they said $38 which is no where compared with international express services . These guys are amazing! My company uses VisaWatch on a national basis, but due to several flubbed and delayed visa experiences with them, our local travel arrangers began to use International Express instead (shhhh... not within policy, but no one is enforcing in this case!). They are not only less expensive, but the service is terrific. The usual approach for passport and visa handling in our office is for our travel arrangers (usually executive assistants) to handle the paperwork and overnight the passport to the expediter, then waiting for it to be processed and overnighted back. Since I'm leaving for India next week, and needed to ensure the fastest turnaround, I filled out the visa application myself, and took it along with my passport, letters of invitation and reference, and itinerary directly to International Express, located at the back of the "low" building attached to the Top of Troy (PNC Tower) where Ruth's Chris steakhouse is situated. This was last Tuesday. I received first-in-line, friendly service (there were two staffers working the counter, plus a manager). The staffer reviewed my paperwork to ensure it was in order, and that the proper language was included on the letters, filled out the expediter's form, took my photo and check, and sent me on my way in no more than five minutes. They promised my passport back, with visa, by the following Tuesday. I would have thought that was my final impression, however much to my surprise, I received a call this morning (the following Monday) indicating that my passport and visa were back and ready to be picked up. I don't think I've ever had a provider like this overdeliver on my expectations. I think the best part of this entire experience was eliminating the uncertainty of overnighting my passport to some black hole of paperwork processing and hoping it comes back in time for my trip. Being able to walk up to the counter and have them handle the process, then being able to walk in to pick up my passport, provide an immeasurable amount of relief from probably the most stressful form of travel. Only one piece of constructive feedback: they should eliminate the 3.5% charge to use credit cards; I don't mind writing checks but it adds complexity to my reimbursement process. I plan to exclusively use International Express in the future, and it appears they are well on their way to becoming an "in-policy" provider for my company's local office! read more
