Love browsing in here. Lots and lots of great gifts. The staff is pretty fussy about you touching anything. They prefer that you ask them to get it for you. This stuff is pretty expensive. Theres Good, bads, and uglies about this place. The Good, this place has some great stuff, random gifts that you would have to usually go online for. Plus the workers there are great. Bad The prices are sort of nuts, but its to be expected. The ugly The owners are terrible, awful people. I walk around the mall often, talk to people, and the things said about the owners easily reflect their attitudes when I walk in. But all in all, not a bad shop. If you are in the market for odd gifts or band T-shirts, then I suggest taking a look at what this store has to offer. I've come here numerous times for band merchandise and have always left satisfied with my purchase and have always managed to pay less than both Hot Topic and Spencer's Gifts. If you aren't careful though, you could get lost in this place for hours, they have so many display racks and so much stuff to admire on their walls, its often hard to keep track of time. read more

Absolutely terrible. I went in and read one sign that said a a Battle Yahtzee game was $9.99 and a puzzle was $14.99. Took them to the counter and it came up $56. I asked why it was so much and I explained there were signs up showing how much things were. The employee was rude, told me straight up "No, you're wrong". So I took off the Yahtzee game (priced at $29.99, but the sign said $9.99) and kept the puzzle. It rang up $19.99. I said no the sign says $14.99 for the puzzle. The girl said no. I just figured whatever I'll buy it and leave. Stupid decision. After I paid I went to look at the sign and the employee basically had a walking race with me to the signs. She pulled down the $9.99 sign and said it was for a different item and I clear as day saw the $14.99 sign for the puzzle. I called her out on it and said I wanted a refund or the difference and she said, "Sorry hun but no credit or cash back. Only store credit. Sorry hun I don't make the rules I just follow them." At that point I just leave the store before something bad happens. Basically don't come here. Everything is overpriced and easily found online for way cheaper and without the lies and hassle of dealing with these people. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised with this store. I had just recently moved to the central valley (this was about four years ago) and was not having a good experience so far. I come to Vintage Faire and see this store. I was in aw as to how much of a variety there is here! They have just about every novelty item you can think of from Betty Boop memorobilia and greeting cards, to band t-shirts, gag gifts and some adult "toys". I found a bumper sticker for my car that said "Drive any closer and I'm going to smack you". Classic! Even though I no longer live in the area, I do still pop in from time to time whenever I visit my parents in Oakdale. It's a great little variety store. read more

This place.... Oh man if I could give negative stars I would. Me and my sisters went in today because we had seen Halloween costumes in the window and I am looking for one for this weekend. We walk in, no greeting and both associates are standing right by the door gossiping. Whatever, we proceed to look at the costumes in the wall. Of course my size is way on top of the wall where I can't reach. So I look towards the associates to ask for help. I'm standing there looking at them, and then looking at me while still gossiping and they just walk behind the register. I follow them to the front of the register and am waiting for them to stop talking as I'm not one to interrupt. Finally after 5-10 minutes or so I just interrupt them "excuse me, I need some help please" one of the girls scoffs and rolls her eyes at me and the other says "okay sure, one minute" they continue their conversation as the one lady comes around the counter to the costume wall and says "what do you want?" I tell her "I just need to see what size this costume is and if you can bring it down for me so I can see it" then she says "that won't fit you, you need the plus sized one" then proceeds to give me a XXXL sized costume which by the way is NOT my size. I kindly asked her to bring down the other size because I know the one she brought down is too big for me and she can't reach it, hands me the hook thing they use and says "here you're taller than me you get it" by this point I'm already mad but I just bring it down as I'm desperate for an outfit, then I ask if she has a fitting room she says yes and takes me to their employee bathroom (which is dirty and smells disgusting by the way). Whatever, I try on the costumes and one is made of cheap itchy material. I put it back in its bag, not gonna work. I grab the XXXL one: I know it isn't gonna fit but , maybe I'll like how it looks and grab another size. I go to take it out of the bag and it is enclosed in clear packing tape. I really look at the bad and the dress and it has been worn and looks very old. It seems to me that they are getting used costumes, maybe from a thrift store or someone they know etc, repackaging them (poorly) and selling them twice the original price. As I come out of the room the lady asks how they worked and I say "they didn't" she then starts to question me about them "what's wrong with them" I say, "one is too itchy, the other is way to big, I'm not interested, thank you though" then she starts suggesting I put a belt on with the costume that's too big or wear shorts under and I say again "no thank you, I'm practically swimming in it, it is way too big as I told you" she keeps insisting then says she will give them to me 50%off again I say no thanks and she keeps trying to sell them to me even as I'm walking out of the store back into the mall. My point: horrible service, cheap product, insane pricing, and again HORRIBLE customer service. read more

I GOT KICKED OUT OF THE STORE FOR NO F***ING REASON!!! Now don't get me wrong I liked browsing around and purchasing from this store for a long while, but its been like I think 3 months since I last was there, so yesterday when I went in, I liked looking at their little flag section and their poster section, but I also liked looking at the antiques in one of the glass cases, after a little bit I started looking at this Chinese styled windchime that was hanging on the case, when I was looking at it one of the bells that were attached to it were hitting the glass case making a clanking sound, right after that the owner comes up to me and tells me to stop fiddling with the lock that was on the case, and then I told her that wasn't fiddling with the lock that was the little bells on the windchime they were banging against the glass making a similar noise, and then she started looking at me like I was stupid and I had something up my A$$, so ignoring that I proceeded with my search, I went in to the back section where the posters were and I was looking around a little bit more, but as I looked a little bit behind me, that woman was standing about 8 feet away from me stalking me, and giving me the stare of death, (Which is actually very insulting and rude) it made me feel pretty uncomfortable, so to avoid her I went over to the section were the bongs are displayed in the glass shelves, so as I was looking, I looked a little bit to the side to see she moved closer to me, stalking me some more, so that made me even more uneasy, so I walked a little more to the area where the glass cases were, as I was looking in one the cases, I pan over to my right, she was right there just watching me, I tried ignoring her, then after 20 seconds she tells me "I need you to leave" then I said "what" once again she replied with "I need you to leave" then I asked "Why?" She replied "Because I said so" then I said "but why what did I do wrong?" then she put her hand in front of me and said "If you do not leave right now i'm calling security" I wanted to cuss her out so bad but that would have just made it more difficult and worse, so I walked out, now that I remember, technically I got kicked out for doing nothing and minding my own business! so later on my mom called her an asked why she kicked me out, She replied "I didn't kick him out, I told him to leave" (Which summarized her Attitude) then my mom asked her again, "why did you kick my son out?!" she replied "Because he was messing with the locks on one of the glass cases" then my mom told her "He was looking at a windchime that had bells on it and they were hitting the glass which made it sound like he was moving the lock but really he wasn't! my son is an honest law biding man he would never do such a thing!" Then she replies "we'll that's funny because every time I stared at him he noticed me and walked away so I cant notice him attempting to steal anything from my shop" then my mom Answered "MAYBE HE KEPT ON WALKING AWAY FROM YOU BECAUSE YOU STARING AT HIM THE WHOLE TIME MADE HIM FEEL UNCONFORTABLE!" Then after that after like 5 second's she hung up, which irritated my mom a little bit, so right after that incident in the shop I felt so bitter and sh*tty for the rest of the entire F***ing day, So for those of you who are reading this and have ambitions on visiting this store, DO NOT GO THERE. The Owner is very rude, disrespectful, arrogant, and a grump, and not friendly at all, And on top of that, she's a crook!... You know right before what happened in that place I was looking forward to purchasing one of their lighters, I sought one that had a confederate flag pasted on it along with the word REBEL on it.. but after what I just experienced, I am not spending another Dollar, Quarter, Nickel, Dime, or Cent in that Sh*thole store ever Again. There's a lot of really cool stuff to look at or buy there at the store. The only thing I didn't like was that they asked if I needed help. I told them I was just browsing and they acted like I was going to steal something. Every isle I went on there were eyes on me constantly. Made me feel really awkward. read more

Well I would like to give a good review here but I just can't. I have never had such horrible customer service in my life. My daughter Mary and I went here looking for something for an upcoming school prom for a local high school. We went in and found some cool beaded curtains that we thought would make a great back drop. We asked if they were 8 foot in length and were told that they were 3ft by 8ft. So we asked for 2 of them, they only had one boxed and one on display and told us that they would take the one out of the window if we would like to return in 20 minutes for it. We came back picked up our purchases and left. 3 Weeks later when setting up our prom backdrop we noticed at first that they were only 6 feet in length and that one of the beads was 6 inches shorter than all of the rest. We boxed them up and with receipt went back to International Imports to get a refund. We spoke to the employee and the manager and they told us that we would have to take a store credit. After explaining to them both that there was nothing at the store that we could possible use for our upcoming prom (I am not sure but fart machines and male genitalia suckers wouldn't cut it) so they called the owner who stated that we were to call her back after 5 pm that evening, which we did. Only to have her tell us to come back the next day to get a refund. I called the next day to explain to her that we couldn't come all the way back to get a refund and if we could handle it via phone and fax. The manager got on the phone and told me "sorry no cash refunds" I went through the whole story with her and the part about how that one employee stated right to our faces that she knew it was broken when we purchased it. So with this said, "BUYER BEWARE" this business must not need customers very much because their service was horrible. So if anybody would like to purchase a 85.00 gift card that we can't use let me know I can give it to you for a discount, because I will never return to this store. read more

Bought a Musha brand katana today for $115 only to find out its sold online for $40. On top of that, the blade is bent right above the guard, its bent slightly and that is why the brass piece at the bottom of the blade was loose. I figured a loose brass piece was part of a $100 sword but i think this was used or dropped or something before i purchased it. Im really bummed and feel like a complete idiot for spending that much money on a katana of this quality. Nearly 300% markup in these economical times is a slap in the face too. Thats what i get for impulse purchasing. Im calling tomorrow to see about either a refund or exchange. read more

I can not go into this store without wanting to buy everything. They have a lot of stuff you would never find in other stores. The staff is great as well I received great service from Baffna. Honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I have had!!! I was a retail manager for 5 years so I understand the business. I was in there for 20minutes, walked down every aisle and did not get asked once if I needed help. The girl with short dark hair at the front counter was more interested in talking to her two friends and not ringing me up. The blonde girl that was working in the back of the store came up and brought me back to ring me up in the back. The card reader was messed up so I had to use a different card. I had a wine glass that on the shelf 6 of them were marked at $12.99 and there were no other wine glasses on the shelf and she told me it was $13.99 and I asked her to please show me where the ones that were $12.99 were because I would get those ones and she said "I don't know but that was the wrong one". It really isn't about the dollar difference it was her rudeness and lack of customer service skills. I come in here often and have never had an issue until today. I guarantee that I will NEVER be back. read more
