My boat is a 2001 Contender 31'. This year I had to bite the bullet and put gas tanks in it and new motors on it. As soon as it was finish getting the gas tanks put in the boat was taken directly to International Marine to be fitted with twin 300 Suzuki's. I pick the boat up on Monday and I dropped it off the same day to International Marine. At that time they had four boats ahead of me and I think it took 10 days for them to finish my boat. Really not bad if you think about it. I still remember the test drive, the boat ran unbelievably sweet. I had taken off 250 two-stroke motors and replace them with 300 Suzuki four stroke's International Marine did everything they promised and my boat has never run so well. The Suzuki motors perform completely different than four strokes and are certainly much quieter. I really love the fact that you can't smell the gas oil mixture at the dock like I used to with the four stroke motors. I had one little problem the boat didn't seem to trim down properly, But international marine fix that without a problem and my boat performs extremely well now. I have 78 hours on the motors at this point and I am completely happy with my choice of Suzuki motors and International Marine. I have been a happy customer of International Marine Service for 7 years. I have watched them grow from a smallish new Suzuki dealer to a Custom marine Power house over that time. Mike has always treated me right. In the 7 years I have had them re-power boat with new 300 Zukes, Update my sound system with, JL Audio Speakers and Amps with a Fusion Head unit. They've replaced my switch panel with custom laser cut and engraved Switch Panel. I've had them powder coat Yeti Tumblers and custom engrave them with my own art work . When I wanted some repairs done they acted as my GC, they engaged subcontractors and made sure everything was done to their standards... If you have a boat you know that it is impossible to have everything perfect, and mistakes can happen. This is where you want a company that will stand behind their work. A year after some work was done by a subcontractor I felt it wasn't down correctly. IMS quickly got me on the schedule and had my issues resolved. How a company works where things go perfect doesn't speak nearly as loud a how a company works operates when something goes wrong. IMS STANDS BEHIND their work, and will do what it takes to do by right by their customers! While in the Bahamas I once spun the hub on my prop, and could not source a replacement. I contacted IMS that moved heaven and earth for me on a Sunday, locating a prop and delivering it to the Airport so I could return home as planed on Monday. They even sponsored a little league team my son was on. Obviously I give these guys 5 stars as there is no 10 star option. They are my first stop for anything marine related! ** 2019 Update ** Still a happy customer. I just had them replace my smoked Radar and GPS unit. Brian not only did it for the best price I could find, they did it on very short notice so that my Keys vacation would not be ruined! Can't say enough good things about these guys! I have read through some of the other reviews on Yelp, and while I can not speak to their credibility I can say I have spent well over $70k with this company with zero negative experiences. Someone ordered props on line and sounds like the eCommerce experience was not the best, and someone has poor wiring in their boat but likely want's it fixed for free. If you don't understand the nature of boats, you shouldn't own one. When there is a problem you fix it. Sometimes you can't use existing wiring and have to PAY to have it replaces. If you won't do that and the vendor has to change settings to accomplish the install then that is on you... But the entire story sounds subject to me... read more

I had purchased a Jabsco FW pump from IM in May, 2021 and everything was fine until I launched the boat this year. Pump ran but would not pressurize the system. I contacted Maria Isaksen who was extremely helpful and she contacted Jabsco (they don't work with the public) and arranged for a warranty replacement. Maria was very helpful throughout the whole process. I also had my last boat re-powered by IM back in 2016 with Suzuki DF300's. My Suzuki motor was acting strangely for a few months. The folks at International Marine were persistent and thorough in diagnosing the problem. they also worked with the Factory to make sure I was satisfied with my motor's performance. I bought 2 Suzuki 200hp engines from International Marine. First they told me "out the door $30k" when the bill showed up $35,000. I was told if you don't want the engines we have plenty of people that do. I took the engines. Then they said they'd hold my old outboards until I sold them, not only did they not do that, but told a perspective buyer they threw them in the garbage. Then they billed me for upgraded props that clearly is indicated on the invoice as included and threatened to put me out for collection if I didn't pay it. They then said if I don't pay for the props, they won't service my engines which are warranteed for 6 years They (Bryan and Michael) are disrespectful, rude and unscrupulous. We got a quote for our '99 hurricane as it had been sitting for a good 9 months. We were getting the fuel replaced and tanks cleaned somewhere else so we had their tech take a look and they gave us a quote of a bunch of different replacements and really nothing to do with the engine or starter. It wasn't starting at all so I asked to talk to the tech how he determined these parts recommended were the cause of it not starting....oh he did not like me asking that. I told them hold off on the shifter cables because I knew those weren't the cause and go ahead with everything else they recommended even though they didn't pin point anything specific. A week later a guy named Brian called us back after it had already been with them for two weeks total (and they told us they started working on it)...to tell us they now have no interest in working on it. No reason why he kept saying "we have no interest working on your boat" and hung up. Extremely rude. I'm guessing it's because I asked what the part numbers were on the quote and why it needed done. Some things on the quote didn't have names and I was apparently a huge inconvenience asking them to explain their quote. Really awful you can't ask questions why something is being recommended. Good thing we didn't go with them it ended up being the start relay and fuel injectors. Not the shift cable switches and other random parts they wanted to replace....Always ask questions and if the tech and manager are offended you are asking why they are recommending something probably go with another service. 2 stars because the front desk girl was nice. Stay away from this company for your marine electronics needs! The experience I had with many of their team members was downright disgusting. The electronics sales man, Brian Koch, is rude, irritating and far from helpful. The owners are a father and son who will both tell you the other one in is in charge to shift the blame from one to the other. And finally, the techs are mischievous as they tried to cover up problems which could have potentially ended disastrously. All in all, a new Garmin suite of electronics (chartplotter, autopilot, and radar) was installed. Large voltage drops incurred, techs lowered voltage alarms to unacceptable limits to cover up the problem. The Garmin electronics were interfaced with NMEA 2000 engine controls and when voltage drops occurred loss of engine throttle control resulted. An extremely dangerous situation usually resulting in the STBD engine coming to idle while at cruise. STAY AWAY! read more

Set an appointment up for a tech to come and inspect the boat and asked to wait 2 weeks, which is fine. Then after waiting two weeks Brian said I'd have to bring it in to do the work which may or not be true, but why wait two weeks to tell me??? My boat is currently disabled in the water at a dock. The guy is full of excuses. Stay away. I asked for the owner to call me to explain and he refused. They are too busy for your business!!! I have been looking for information on new navigation equipment for my boat and have called a number of "shops" across the country regarding a project for next year. I spoke to Brian "Cook" with International Marine after he provided me with his personal cell phone number. He put me at ease and made everything clear for me and my wife to understand, something none of the other business representatives that I spoke to were able to do. You can tell that he has a passion and a great deal of knowledge of the products and the industry. If you want to totally waste your time I highly recommend you deal with Mike (the owner) and Brian (not the owner)... They are the best at it. Mike will lie and Brian Koch will go into a full KKK rage on the phone and brag about his friends on grinder. I bought 2 suzuki props on their website with Fedex International shipping .... the next day I was trying to contact someone because my tracking # showed no movement. Mike had no idea what I was talking about because they stopped using the third party that does their payment and shipping ...Their 3rd party didn't even know about this and I was supposed to???! Mike said it was up to me to get my refund which is contrary to what the 3rd party says. Enough with the emails I decide to try calling in again. When I finally did get through on the phone the toughest guy you will ever meet is on the other end of the phone. He won't let you calmly explain what is going on before yelling over top of you. Brian Koch is one severely mentally unstable and sexually frustrated man... has to be hands down the toughest and stupidest guy on the other end of a recorded phone you will ever meet. I think he thought I was customer service and he was the customer cause who challenges you to come down to their place of work to fight it out??? Horrible company - spend thousands of dollars - and they don't stand behind their warrantees . they refuse to return your calls. and when you show up at their counter - they tell you - your warrantee doesn't apply because you did something wrong - without seeing the boat - nor even asking what was wrong. Do yourself a favor, and never, never do business with this company. I decided to purchase a new Suzuki 90 HP motor from Brian Koch at International Marine. Brian said that once he received my money, it would take 3 days for him to get the motor from Suzuki and 4 days for me to get it after that. This should have been a warning sign that they have no motors in stock at International Marine and are simply a "pass thru" seller of outboard motors. I placed the order and wired $9,000 that day. Two weeks after that, with no motor and no tracking info, Brian Koch stopped answering my emails and phone calls. Finally, on Thursday of week-three with no motor, he made this excuse for the motor's delay and for not getting back to me: "My wife is in the hospital" and "our office girl was in the hospital last week". At this point, he said the motor was shipping out that day (Thursday). I asked for tracking information, and again he would not respond. Finally, on the following Tuesday (week 4), Michael Reimer from International Marine emailed me with a tracking number and this message: "Here is your tracking info. This shipped via Southwestern Freight lines. It will take about 24 hours to update". I immediately called Southwestern and was told that the motor had not been picked up from International Marine yet. Finally the motor, controls and prop arrived and I thought all was well, until I put the boat in the water after having it installed on the boat, and as I put the boat in reverse, it lunged forward hitting the dock. Brian had sent me a counter rotating prop and neither I nor my mechanic picked up on this mistake. I asked Brian for a refund on the prop and he said that he would only rebate me "his cost" on the prop, even though I had paid him $210 for the prop. He further said that I would have to pay to ship the counter rotating prop back to him, at my expense, and that he would not rebate me until I did so. At this point I just asked for him to send me a new prop and again Mike got involved and agreed to do this the next day. That was two weeks ago and the new prop just arrived yesterday...at the wrong address, without my name on the box, causing me to spend the better part of yesterday tracking it down since it was not sent with "signature required" and ended up in an industrial area 30 miles from my house. My motivation for writing this is to save you from the agony I have experienced with this company.
