We were clear on what we were looking for with a good amount of flexibility, yet we felt like we were just not being taken seriously. It was a Sunday, I wrote an email to Ken and the very next morning I received a call from Ken. The tone was completely different on the phone and I could tell here was a realtor who was wanting to work with and for us. By that afternoon I was sent over a number of listings that were more in line of what we were looking for. I took a liking to one particular home, when my wife came home she picked out the same house. Ken gave us a follow up call later that evening and said he could arrange a viewing that night if we wanted. We found the perfect home, more than we expected. Several other people were bidding on this home. Ken convinced the listing realtor we would be a good bet for the sellers, and the sellers accepted our offer which was a bit lower than some. Apparently, the sellers had another offer at one time which fell through. Since both my wife and I are self-employed financing is much more securitized and we had more hurdles to jump through than in previous homes I had purchased when I was an employee. Ken kept the seller's realtor informed all the way and both us and the sellers were very satisfied. I truly believe that the sellers realtor if not for Ken would have advised the sellers to accept the higher offer. Additionally, I convinced my brother to list his home with Ken, OMG the hurdles Ken jumped through for my brother were amassing. It would take a novel to explain it here. Michael always answered promptly and in ways that made it easy for us to understand. If there was something confusing, he breaks everything down in great detail. He was great at making us feel comfortable enough to ask him anything at anytime! Not only is he knowledgeable about the ins and outs of realty but he has a great eye for seeing the positives and negatives in homes. He pointed out things at houses that we never would have seen on our own. After seeing multiple houses that were not a fit for us, he always had an optimistic attitude reassuring us that the perfect house for us is out there. He was right! When we found the home we loved, Michael was involved every step of the way. We had a few frustrating hiccups along the way with the seller but Michael handled it all very gracefully. During our home buying experience, we first met with another realtor. This was the first time we had looked at house (which she knew) and while we were looking at the house, she stayed very quiet. Didn't really inform us on anything. Didn't really explain much to us. She was just there. Anyway, we didn't like the house and moved on. We used the app Redfin to filter through houses that we wanted to see. Izzy was the realtor advertised on each of the houses in the areas we were looking. We met with him on the first house we saw and instantly liked him. We looked around the house and during our visit he actually talked to us about the home buying process, what to expect, etc. He was very informative and gave us a good background of his experience in real estate (which was good! He said he closed around 70 houses in 2014). Again, since this was our first time buying, he was so great in helping us from day one. We sent him several houses to look at and we went on a couple of different trips throughout a span of possibly 3 to 4 weeks. As we went through each house, he shared with us information that was helpful. I appreciated his honesty and knowledge. On our last house visit, we were debating on two houses. One of houses we really liked was a split level home and had two bedrooms. One bedroom was in the basement. We didn't mind it at first, but then he explained to us that even though it is good for now, it will be difficult in the future for selling. He explained it could be a hard sell to get people to buy a place with a bedroom in the basement. Starting families will most likely not be comfortable having the kid's bedroom far away from theirs. Anyway, the reason for that story was to show you an example of how helpful and honest he was. He was not trying to sell us on a house right way or just get us to like a house and go. He was actually trying to find a house that worked for US. I really appreciated that. He was also easy to get a hold of and helped us with any questions or concerns we had. He was great!
