I respect Dr. Parry a lot. He provides hard-to-find services to the LGBTQ+ community in a steady and respectful way. The lab staff are top shelf, too. However, the rest of the revolving cast of staff are "hit or miss" in their diligence and follow-up. I assume that good staff are very hard to find. I've been a patient at Intown Primary Care for several years now, and my experience has been consistently excellent. Dr. Scott Parry has provided top-notch care that is responsive, thoughtful, and tailored to my needs--especially as a gay man. I've always felt seen and understood here in a way that's rare in healthcare. One thing I especially appreciate is how convenient and modern the care can be. There have been several instances where I've been able to message Dr. Parry through the patient portal--sometimes even with a photo of the issue--and he's promptly responded with treatment options or prescriptions, saving me a trip to the office. (Most recently, he quickly addressed a painful case of infected hair follicles from biking, and I was back to normal the next day.) I do think it helps that I'm a very active patient, coming in regularly for PrEP screening and annual physicals--about 4-5 times a year. That ongoing relationship has built trust and attentiveness that I really value. That said, I understand some of the concerns mentioned in other reviews. It can be hard to get through on the phone, and sometimes it's unclear when Dr. Parry is out of the office. They would benefit from adding another full-time nurse practitioner to help respond to portal messages more quickly. But for me, the overall quality of care far outweighs these occasional inconveniences. I highly recommend Dr. Parry and Intown Primary Care--especially for LGBTQ+ patients looking for affirming, informed healthcare. read more

After 20 years with Dr Parry, I am done. When I went to my appointment this morning(7/18/25), this was posted on his front door telling all his existing patients and new patients that he is now charging an annual fee of $300 to see him. The fee is just to have access to HIM. It gets me nothing else. In addition to the $300, I have to still pay my office co-pay, deductible and co-insurance. And what is even worse, there was zero communication about it. Nothing on his website and no emails to any of his patients. In fact, his admin called me two days earlier to confirm my appointment, and she didn't say a word about this. Time to find a new doctor. read more

Been going here for several years. My experience has been mostly positive until recently. Not sure if something has changed with their office staff but in the past few months, several of my prescriptions have been sent to the wrong pharmacy or late. As I type this, I have been awaiting a refill on a request I submitted 9 days ago. I am currently on hold of my fourth call because the system kicks you to voicemail after 6 minutes despite me being first in line. I really liked this place and hope they get their front office more efficient because prescriptions should not take this long. read more

How would you feel if you called to book a doctors apt and when you got there they increased the price 100%. They doubled the cost of a routine office visit for a prescription refill. To me it felt like a hostage situation. I had to pay to get my medication because no one told me over the phone that they had doubled their prices so by the time I got there I was out of medication and left with no other choices. It felt like a scam. Like I was being punked. That someone "in power" was holding medications I need in my daily life to function over my head. I asked them if I missed the notice they sent out that of if I had somehow signed terms and conditions unknowingly and Dr. Perry told me they don't need to send out an update. They didn't. Well I've been going there for 10 years and they've never increased their prices like this. It feels wrong. It feels illegal. It feels unethical. Dr Parry told me it was because of inflation and because insurance doesn't pay him timely. Inflation is 8.8% not 100%. He said this isn't a free clinic. Super rude unapologetic - does not care. If you're going to do a 100% price increase the right thing to do is notify your patients and let them decide before they're out of medication. I know I won't be back. read more

This is by far the best experience I've ever had with a doctor's office. I can't say enough great things about this place. I have seen several doctors over the years (my initial provider retired, and I have had a few moves out of state). I am shocked this place doesn't have all 5 star reviews. I guess most happy patients don't think to leave reviews, unfortunately. I only chose this place because I personally know happy patients who have referred it to me by name. I have seen almost all of the providers at Intown Primary Care (Dr. Parry, Gina, and Caleb), and they are all knowledgeable and take the time to listen to all of my concerns. They are very communicative especially via the patient portal, but they are also very helpful via phone if I have any questions. The front desk staff are friendly and kind, and the lab staff are especially patient with me because I hate having my blood drawn. Their hours and availability are also awesome. If I ever need to get in last minute for something, there is generally something available within a day with one of the providers. I can't say enough great things about this place. I'm sad it took me so many years to find reliable healthcare I trust, but I'm glad I finally did! read more

I had high hopes for Dr. Parry however I am very disappointed. The staff (including Dr. Parry) do not respond to messages in the portal... the very portal they want patients to direct correspondence through. Their excuse (going on four months now) is there is an issue with the portal. No, there isn't. Even if there was, it wouldn't be a four month or more issue. The front office staff rarely answer the phone; when they do, you're put on hold. The last call I was on hold for ten minutes before I hung up. I called again and was put through to a voicemail. Dr. Parry has a niche practice that caters to the LGBT community. It's quite clear he does not care about the very community he caters to. If he can no longer care for his patients, he should close the practice and retire. The longer he continues to be in practice, he could be endangering the lives of his patients. read more

So disappointing. I used to see NP Gina Keller at this practice and received great care. After she left I have had only bad experiences. I have repeatedly asked for prescription refills and no one will call or email me back. Taking care of patients is clearly not a priority. When I finally did tell them there are some serious customer service issues and I was leaving the practice, I got an email basically saying 'don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.' It was a Thursday morning and I had been feeling very sick for a couple of days. I was worried about getting close to the weekend and possibly needing more urgent medical care over the weekend, but wasn't sure about being able to get in to see a clinician. So I called Dr. Parry's office and the front desk person was very sympathetic and squeezed me in to see Dr. Parry that afternoon. I saw Dr. Parry as scheduled. After checking everything out from top to bottom, Dr. Parry explained what he thought was going on. He ordered some blood work just to confirm, but he proactively prescribed treatment that he was nearly certain would have me feeling much better by the morning. I got the script and sure enough, I felt like a different person in the morning. I've been using Intown Primary Care for a long time now. I will acknowledge there had been a period where I felt like some of the front desk personnel were very abrupt, maybe even rude and couldn't be bothered. Looking back on it now, I realize I actually should have said something to Dr. Parry about it because I know he cares and he would not want that to be a patient's experience. But the team he has working there now could not have been any nicer and more pleasant. Having to submit repeated requests for Rx refills, not having messages passed back to the doctor, and some staff turnover makes being a patient there very difficult. Incredibly difficult to get a hold of the staff to make an appointment. It is not uncommon to call them SEVERAL times per day for multiple days if not a whole week before you can get someone to pick up the phone. This makes it incredibly difficult to get your prescriptions refilled so fully expect to have to go without your medicine for over a week if you choose to go to this doctor. Medicine that you need to take DAILY to function. ALSO, a whole hour before closing they will flat out stop receiving calls so keep that in mind for when you're trying to get a hold of them. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Parry's for 12 years. He and his team are an invaluable part of my healthcare. From taking care of general wellness needs to partnering with my oncologist through several years of cancer treatments, he has been there every step of the way. His staff also works hard to make things easy - scheduling appointments, handling insurance / billing issues, refill requests, and even working me in the schedule if there's an urgent wellness need. Disgustingly rude and aggressive front desk staff!! Just ew! I saw Dr Parry for about 9 months before he recently hired front desk staff that was completely unprofessional and turned me off from the practice with the exception of Sebastian (he's such a joy). My initial issue with IPC was the fact that Dr Parry had me use all my limited doctor's visits at the cancer specialist for chemotherapy for cancer I didn't even have! When I finally actually got really sick, I was rudely denied treatment by the staff because I accrued a balance unbeknownst to me. Secondly I was openly and casually misgendered that same day I went in after getting extremely sick which hadn't ever happened to me in a professional setting. Talk about adding literal insult to injury.... The third and final strike was being talked down to and cursed out by a new front desk worker named Ketorah while Dr Parry was on vacation. I was obviously taken aback by her rudeness and aggressive behavior and vowed to never come back again and called the angry front desk worker a bitch. This is also following a series of visits where they closed the office early without notice and when asked about the premature closings the following day, front desk staff would actually deny that they ever closed early. The hilarity, the nerve, the unmitigated gall came from the letter they sent me discharging me from the practice stating that I was the rude, aggressive, THREATENING one, when In fact that couldn't be further from the truth. The fact that Dr Scott Parry would believe the word of a brand new, abysmal attitude having, unprofessional without even asking me what happened as he vacationed was actually very surprising and extremely unprofessional on his part. I also find it very disgusting and racist to feed into angry black woman tropes, the blatant misogynoir, the unprofessionalism, the aggressive staff, the transphobia and violence is enough for me to never recommend this dysfunctional mess of a practice to any self respecting individual. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Parry's for over 16 years. I refuse to go anywhere else and refuse to see another NP in the office. Nothing against any of the NP but I've just built a great doctor patient relationship with Dr. Parry. I feel very comfortable discussing all of my needs with him. Some needs are beyond his practice but he always assist as much as he can and refers me to other good doctors in the field in which I need. Dr.Parry has always been concerned with my overall health not just physically but my mental health as well. When I first went to him 16 years ago I was mentally a hot mess and in denial that I suffered from depression, anxiety and ptsd but he never gave up on me. We eventually found the right medicine regimen along with other techniques and today I'm 100% better. I've always been a person who prays but Something personal that he told me & I will NEVER forget bc it helped me tremendously...he told me "sometimes you need medication on top of the prayer" and that stuck w me bc it's the truth. So as long as he's practicing I will forever be his patient. Not sure why the other negative reviews but I respectfully disagree. Intown Primary Care office is beautifully decorated and very clean. And as far as getting prescriptions filled that's all patient error. Everything is done in the app. All of my experiences have been great. And let me not forget to add that my husband has been a patient of dr.Parry's for over 10 years. And he feels the same way. Dr.Parry is who discovered my husband is diabetic. Do that along tells you he's going to get to the bottom of one's health issues. His bedside manners are impeccable. He listens and then executes and follows up w/ you. So I have no idea what's happened to this location in the last year but it has just been the WORST experience. The new front desk staff is horrible. Super rude and unhelpful. Every time I call I'm placed on a hold for no less than 10, the longest being 25 minutes. The biggest thing is that refilling prescriptions has become such a hassle. I've been coming here for 5plus years but it just isn't worth the trouble anymore. Already found a new doctor. I recently attempted to visit the Intown Primary Care location on Cheshire Bridge. I say ATTEMPTED to visit because I was asked to pay $140 to get to see the doctor. I have lived in Atlanta since August, so I decided it would be good to have a primary care doctor here. I read some positive reviews of Dr. Olliff, who I found through my insurance's website as an in-network provider. As I was filling out new patient paperwork, the receptionist called me up to tell me that my card requires referrals. I told her this is only when I'm in the city for my university and that I'm a student doing research out of state and living in Atlanta. She told me then that I would have to pay them $140 to see the doctor, even though my Aetna insurance card (which they ACCEPT my insurance) says $40 copay. I explained again that it was a $40 copay, and that I already checked that I did not need a referral from my insurance. My insurance company specifically listed both Intown Primary Care and Dr. Olliff as in my network. She said $140 was their policy because they thought my insurance might not pay because they didn't have experience with them. I've never been treated so poorly by a medical office. Avoid this practice. read more

I used to be a patient here, years ago, and with insurance changes had to switch. I recently switched back here because my other favorite practice is no longer in my insurance network. One of the main reason that I chose to go to this practice is because they will write my regular ADHD medicine, something that a lot of primary care practices won't do. Albeit, they require a drug test every three months, which I don't mind. Also, they don't do refills on my Ambien so I have to call to get it refilled every month which is a pain. Their patient portals are excellent and they have both a full patient portal as well as a separate portal that notifies of you when a medication is called in, the cost, the medicine, and any coupons that might be available. I give an extra-star for the technological advances. It is easy to get an appointment, and walk-in when you are sick. I recently had a sore throat that I knew was strep, and called at 1:30 PM and they were able to see me at 2:00 PM with Elizabeth Brown. The visit was quick and a relatively appropriate medication was prescribed. read more

If you're either a new patient or existing, please think twice about establishing your medical needs with Dr. Scott Parry. First, I have had (3) physicians tell me that Dr. Parry had prescribed me an overdose amount of a narcotic with lifelong damaging affects over a span of 3+ years. In addition, he will charge for events that are not legit. He has absolutely no integrity. Lastly, his new medical staff are very unprofessional and extremely rude. They seem to prioritize their commercial decisions over medical decisions. I have a common genetic condition where the industry standard seems to be an annual blood test and annual prescriptions that rarely change (and that cannot be abused). I've had the same prescription for over 5 years. Instead of annually, Dr Parry's office requires that I get a blood test every 6 months, and then writes my prescriptions out for only 90 days out at a time (also usually preventing me from getting the bulk discount). They even refused to call in a 1-week prescription extension less than a year after my last test while I was sorting my schedule for my next appointment because they immediately wanted me to do yet another blood test. They told me they would immediately call the prescription in if I scheduled my appointment or got a blood test right then (even though the results take 2-3 days). They've told me that "it's illegal for them to prescribe annually," and that 11 months ago is "more than a year ago," and that "6 months is required." None of these is correct. Of the dozens of family and friends I have with this same condition (several of who are doctors), I am the only one with this 6-month blood-test / every 90-day prescription "requirement." I will say that Dr. Parry himself is nice and seems knowledgable (if you ever see him rather than Gina, his Nurse Practitioner). But it appears to me that this company prioritizes and takes liberties with their finances over patient care. And that's not why I go to a doctor. For me, it's more about the inconveniences than the finances. But I am not trading my health & convenience for their finances by going back here. Particularly not when they can't be upfront with their reasoning. read more

The absolute worst!! I've never experienced such poor service with a healthcare provider. No one answers the phone. No one (including Dr. Parry) responds to inquires in the patient portal. I literally got a response to an email 31 days after sending the initial inquiry. There are constant billing disputes. The office staff will without notice reschedule your appointment due to their providers availability; and then charge you fee for not showing up on a day that you were unaware of. It's pitiful and very "scam likely"! I have been a patient of IPC for at least 15 years. That will change today. I have never been more infuriated and disappointed. If you are in need of a primary care doctor in Atlanta this is the place to go! Very friendly and welcoming staff at the front desk. Doctors who you can trust and be very honest and blunt with making for a comfortable visit. My very favorite staff members are the phlebotomists. They are extremely friendly and make giving blood so easy if you have any anxiety. They always find a way to squeeze me into the schedule which seems to always be full. Gay friendly too!
