Abbey Cleaners are a dry cleaning specialist that offer domestic and commercial laundry. You can get your curtains and duvets cleaned quite reasonably. They offer a ironing service which can be pretty handy for work shirts. There is also an alterations service. Abbey Cleaners will take orders for one item or job lots. If you pre-phone there is a free pick up and delivery service in the local area. Quite recently I took a jacket that had pen ink on it which leaked in to the pocket. After looking at the item i was offered a free clean if they could not get it clean, luckly it came back clean :)

A review of a printer and copier place? Sounds dull but this is such a great little place I had to…read moremention it. We use this printer company at my place of work and the attitude we encounter every single time is so refreshing - everyone is cheerful and eager to help if possible and if you've missed any detail from your order they'll be straight on the phone to check everything and make sure you get what you need. The efficiency is quite remarkable here. I've known them turn round full colour printing jobs in a few hours and it's become an in-house joke where I work where we almost have a sweepstake on how soon they'll get back to us. We use recycled paper and that's easily done at Colourcopy so there's an environmentally friendly side to them too. Finally the quality of the job they do is first class. Our printing requirements are always done to the highest quality and everything they've done for us has been spot on.

I was then advised by a friend to try out York Floorcare whom I quickly called and spoke with Alan, he asked a couple of questions and asked me to bring it in for him to have a look at and said that if he could not fix it I wouldn't be charged. Within 24 hrs I had received a phone call saying that it had been repaired with genuine replacement parts, serviced, thoroughly cleaned and ready to take back home. I picked it up and was a amazed at how clean it looked and better impressed with its functionality. As for the price, £65, a lot less and a lot faster than what Dyson could offer. Thank you Alan, for a really really impressive service and quick repair that I genuinely thought that I would not see my Dyson again.

Boasting 130 years of experience, they specialise in bookbinding, but whilst other print houses on the high street do you simple laminating and hole punch-bind (disertation style), Thackray's offer a traditional service, that transformed my work into something I'd happily buy, let alone just take out at the local library! As well as this, they do menu covering, restoration work, foil blocking and more, and have a team of highly dedicated staff in their 'factory'. They can print your work as well, just bring your files on USB. I was unbelievably impressed with this lot. They're professional, and whilst they might not be the cheapest place to get your binding done, I can guarentee, you will not be disappointed at all with the end product.

The mind truly boggles. The jewellery is a mixture of the theatrically blinging (despite being partial to a bit of costume jewellery myself I find most of this pretty unappealing), with rings clocking in at heady heights of around £6000 and more mundane understated drop earrings, still with a wopping price tag nearing £5000. I think I must just be destined to wander happily through life blissfully unaware of the intrinsic value of a few diamonds, as for some reason none of the jewellery on offer excites any reaction from me other than utter shock that anyone actually spend such money on such things. For engagement or wedding rings I can see why someone might justify spending a packet, but the range here merely resembles those found on the pages of the Argos catalogue...nothing really special.

Their jewellery items were much the same, very high end prices, but some lovely pieces. All the precious gem related jewellery - peridot, diamonds, emeralds, were lovely and very contemporary in style; the gems were cut in stark square formations and very simplistic.
