Easier to change locations, which we have done, except we pay to use all GoodLife gyms so will seriously think about whether renewing memberships at the end of the year. We were part of dozens of people that moved there when another popular gym closed, therefore still have many friends there. What a difference good management makes.

Whenever I enter and exit the facility, the staff by the door would always ensure to greet me which sometimes could really raise a persons mood. The staff are usually very helpful if I had any questions or needed help. Another plus would be that there are plenty of parking spaces around the plaza, so no matter how busy it is, you can still find a decent spot The facility overall is very clean and the machines are not completely old and worn out compared to other locations I've visited. On the weekdays, there is usually a cleaner every morning that comes to sweep and mop the gym. Cleanliness is an important factor in not only gyms but for everything, and this gym does a good job with it. I find that most of the machines don't have much problems because of how attentive the staff is. TIP: Mornings and evenings on weekdays are generally busier, so if you could, come during the afternoon. Saturday's overall is usually less busy compared to Sunday's as well.

I love Validus Fitness! I've been a member for about eight years. When I started going, it was…read morecalled CrossFit Ark, and although it's still a CrossFit gym, it is so much more than that. Unlike many CrossFit gyms, Validus doesn't have that competitive vibe. It's welcoming for people at any fitness level, with members of all ages and abilities. It's a very supportive atmosphere and really feels like a big family. One great thing about CrossFit workouts is that they can be scaled to the level of the individual. Even though I've been going for years, there are still movements I can't do. But that doesn't matter because I can just substitute whatever the weight or movement might be for something I can manage. Another thing I love about CrossFit is that you're always doing something different, so you don't have to worry about getting bored with the workouts. Lastly, but certainly not least, I really appreciate the social element of going to the gym. I work from home, so I don't have a lot of social interaction throughout the day. Going to Validus gives me a regular social outlet where I can laugh and have fun with like-minded, good people. If you're looking for a fun way to get in shape or if you're curious about what CrossFit is all about, I highly recommend you stop by Validus and see what you think. As soon as I confirmed that I was indeed Ukrainian she stressed that the first class is free since I'm new to the gym, but I have to pay next time I come in. Frankly, I wasn't even aware of that the first class was free - I was happy to pay. She then proceeded telling me how "all these Ukrainians" take advantage and "think they can just sneak into free classes without paying". I was extremely offended by such blatant generalizations. Needless to say, I walked out immediately as I feared that a person of my nationality would be unwelcome there. And based on a quick look around the place, it felt like a dungeon and the equipment was dated. I wouldn't recommend it.

Great selection of quality cardio equipment. The gym is a little small but in my one month of membership I have not had to wait for any equipment (although I typically work out past 8PM - rush hour might be different.) Seems to have a good selection of class offerings although I haven't attended any. Facility is very clean and extremely pleasing aesthetically. There is always somebody walking around cleaning. Age group 18 and up and members have solid gym etiquette; practically all weights are always in the right place. The weekend hours could be better. It's open till 11pm on Friday, 7pm on Saturday /Sunday, and midnight on weekdays. Overall 4.5/5, very solid gym, extended hours would make it 5/5 for me.

The new old white lady that started working here is a complete RACIST…read more She specifically tells the minorities in the weightlifting room to fully put on our masks (BARELY below our nose) but completely ignored the other two white individuals who WEREN'T EVEN WEARING MASKS. Her reasoning when I called her out was that they were "working out" but that is still against Fit4Less rules. 1. As of the recent change, it is now required to fully wear a mask even when you're performing an exercise. Under no circumstances you take off your mask. These individuals didn't even have them on. 2. EVERYONE was working out, me and the other minorities weren't even moving yet she specifically targets us. (I was literally seated) This happened today as of 2021-02-26 during the 11AM timeslot. If management ever sees this and doubts it happened, feel free to check your cameras in that room. Newmarket in general has a higher population of Caucasians but I didn't believe that kind of racism has made its way into their local businesses...

I've been going to a large franchise fitness center for a while now but my personal trainer has…read moremoved to this gym recently. I believe this facility is only accessible through a personal trainer. When you walk in there's an area to leave your outdoor footwear, seating as well as a counter that sells water and coffee. The change room has lockers, weigh scale, showers as well as washroom facilities. There's even bottles of lotion by the sink! From a glance around the gym there's all the usual equipment that you'll find at any gym as well as some that I've never seen before. The ground level has two sections of weight lifting equipment and the upper floor has cardio machines, TRX, dumbbells and mats. Can't wait to see what my trainer has in store for me.
