I contracted a blood infection from possibly a urlogy procedure I had done a short time earlier, and I went to Summerlin Hospital ER to seek treatment. After being admitted, Dr. Alexi saw me in my room every day of my stay, including the weekend. From the beginning, he was informative, patient and had an excellent bedside manner. He immediately developed a course of action, and after a three day stay, I was free of the infection. Dr. Alexi gave precise instructions for me to follow at home and encouraged me to contact him should I have any questions or if my status changed in any way. Dr. Alexi's demeanor was reassuring, kind, and he took the time to fully explain every step and process of my treatment. My father had been admitted into Summerlin Hospital and among the plethora of physicians taking care of his various needs, the only physician who stood out was Dr. Ion Alexie. He is extremely thorough, compassionate and caring. Dr. Alexie would come to my father's bedside to explain his course of treatment and the reasons for it, but he would also address whoever else was in the room and ensure we all understood everything he was saying/doing for his treatment. Dr. Alexie was never bothered by any questions that we asked and never seemed rushed like all the other physicians on his case. Once my father left Summerlin we traveled to Florida to continue his care. Dr. Alexie, within minutes of reaching out to him, communicated his findings and opinion to my father's infectious disease physician in Florida. I was yet again in the hospital for my Colon, and I saw a number of doctors during my stay. Dr Alexie was one of them and I have to say I was impressed with him each day he came to see me. He spoke to me as if I was part of his family, he explained things to me, asked if I had questions...he talked in language I could understand not the medical I don't have a clue about...Dr Alexie took the time and was never in a rush, we talked about life, family, everyday stuff...I had to stop and remember I just met him but he made me feel as if I have known him for a long time...he had me at ease with my care he was giving , he made me smile....thank you for making me feel like a human, a friend or family member and not a paycheck... keep up the great work...Blessing read more

This doctor is very rude and condescending. He saw me at hospital for chronic uti infection that I've had for over 2 years. He doesn't believe that I'm still infected even when I've provided my own outside testing I've shown him that clearly shows I have 2 different bacteria's (e coli & e. Facealis). Er doctor admitted me, another doctor on floor wanted to wait for culture test for diagnos, meanwhile Dr. Brah my other attending Dr. clearly saw improvement on the IV antibiotics I was on but this all went against what Dr Alexis believed so he came into my room, told me " if you become antibiotic resistant and the die, don't blame me" those were his exact words. He then had nurses discontinue my antibiotics, called the other doctor and then had his team discharged me. When clearly I still needed antibiotics and pain control. He then heard that I had filed a complaint against him so he did this all in retaliation. Very rude and unprofessional. Stay as far away as possible from him! read more

Dr Alexie treated my pylonephritis at Summerlin Hospital. I felt confident from the first introduction that he was going to cure me. He said "I'm going to find what bacteria is causing this and I'm going to kill it". I love his bedside manner. He looked me in the eye and spoke to me with respect. I just got out of the hospital and want to express my gratitude for Dr Alexie! He treated prophylacticly based on his wisdom, knowing he could be wrong, but 50% correct. He was right! All my cultures were negative but he treated anyway, and I am 90% improved. A few more days of antibiotics and I will be back to normal! Dr. Alexi has seen my father at Summerlin Hospital every day for the last two weeks and has been extremely attentive and thoroughly answered all of our questions. His energy and support has definitely helped my dads recovery and I would recommend Dr. Alexi as his knowledge and explanations of complex issues regarding bowel infection have been extremely helpful in our healing process. Dr Ion Alexie has T H E W O R S T bedside manner I have ever experienced. VERY rude; completely burdened by ANY of your questions. I honestly question his professional knowledge in the field of infectious diseases due to his actions including ruling out certain medical conditions without first consulting the submitted cultures, which had not even had a chance to grow fully yet. The condition in question was bacterial meningitis which is a condition which must be confirmed via lab testing, NOT a medical 'professional's opinion based on expressed symptoms. This is not a condition that a doctor may diagnose WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING THE CULTURES SUBMITTED BY THE PATIENT. His strange and obviously incorrect responses to medical questions an ruling out Meningitis before viewing appropriate cultures seriously makes me question whether or not he should be practicing medicine at all read more

Dr. Alexie has been the only doctor at Summerlin Hospital to care about me. I have an infection in my left calf. I had an exact infection in my right calf a year ago. No one can explain it. Every test comes back negative, every culture clear. The original wound had to be cut out of my leg before it would heal, which I've told every doctor at Summerlin. Dr. Alexie has been insistent that I need a debridement on the wound so our will heal. 3 out of 4 surgeons have said no, but 2 because they didn't feel like doing surgery at 4pm on a Friday. I was in the hospital 4 days last week and they sent me home, but I came back this week because my leg was worse. Dr. Alexie is the only one who has been to see me every single day.
