A OK service. I got a Groupon, which I don't recommend, unless you literally have the exact number of photos as listed in the Groupon. I had less, but I still owed the full Groupon. That's OK, though, I get it. If you have older photos that are stuck to various things, they will charge you extra. Anything that would cause difficulty being scanned automatically will cost extra. Lots of nickle and diming, although I can understand that as well. Overall, I was sort of Meh about the whole process and the results. Would I use them again? Probably. I was very excited when i stumbled upon a group on for this company. We had a bunch of videos of our deceased mother that we wanted transferred to DVD. We call them a bunch. No response. We left messages, nothing. After several unreturned calls in a 2 week period my husband called them twice in a row. They texted him back. He had to set up an appointment over a week out. Fine. He literally got off a flight and rushed from LAX to make the appointment. When he showed up no one was there. Rang the bell, knocked, called, texted, called the additional #. Nothing. Never received digital scans or my deceased sister in laws photos back. I purchased a Groupon to have my deceased sister- in- laws photos scanned to digital on March 17th, 2019. I Mailed the envelope per the instructions. I Made 7 attempts to contact this company between May and June and only received one text saying they had "technical difficulties. I've used many Groupon's and this was the first bad experience I've had and unfortunately all the photos of my sister in law are now missing. Groupon refunded my money and then told to work directly with the merchant to get the photos which I never got and this is over one year later Today is June 2020. read more

I bought a Groupon to scan 500 photos. The quality was much better than what I'm able to scan on my personal printer/scanner. Even though the dpi is the same, there scans came out very clear - a true digital version of my old tattered, yellowed, torn photos. The turn around was very reasonable - a couple of weeks and they called me when it was ready. I will definitely use them for more photo scanning. And I may try their VHS transfer to DVD as well. Start small - see how you like them, and go from there. Some of the reasoning behind these negative reviews are really lame. Read the small print people!! read more

an update. I picked up my film today! yay!! It took over two months to get it back but I was so relieved to get it back . After calling to check up on my film last week, the lady who talked to me on the phone apologized for the delay and she also called to update me during the week to explain that the film was really damaged so they had to do some extra cleaning and would take few more days.. When i went to pick up my film, the owner explained that the whole process for film takes a lot longer, and they had to soak my film to clean it up and such. The film turned out to be about 2 min long..and because the film was damaged, I was only able to make out 1 min of the footage...I knew going in that it wouldn't be an hour long footage..but considering 1 groupon is good for 4 hours of digitizing regular tapes, using 2 groupons to get 1-2 min of film processed may not be worth it for some people. I think next time I'll just stick with digitizing dv tapes with them..so i don't have to spend so much money on 2 min of film footage...but i was happy to get a glimpse of the past even if it was with some damage and only about min long.. I added 1 more star because they made up for the long time by being courteous and updated me last week to let me know they were working on it..they also gave me an extra copy of the DVD to make up for the wait... ................................................................................................................................................ I bought two of their Groupon deals for digitizing films. When I went to drop off my films ( my parent's wedding footage from the 70's, that I never got a chance to see..) They told me that the groupon i bought doesn't work for this type of film, and it will cost more to process it. The owner/manager told me that he'll take both my groupons to credit the cost..so my 2 groupons won't go to waste..The assistant and the manager was friendly and told me it will take 4 weeks to process. At the end of the 4 weeks I didn't get a call so i called them to see if my film was ready for pick up. The lady on the phone informed me that my film hasn't been processed yet and it will take another 4 weeks!..I told her I've already waited 4 weeks and she apologized and said she'll put a rush order on it, and they'll call me when they are done. It's been almost 2 months of waiting now and no call, and when i called them they weren't picking up..at this point I'm just hoping my parent's films are safe. I don't understand how a " rush order " could take another 4 weeks without even a phone call or any explanation. I'm going to try calling them again and hopefully my films ready? ..( I'm praying everything is okay ) I'll definitely update this post when I get my film back... read more

This was my experience in June: I purchased the photo scanning groupon. I was nervous to drop off pictures that are dear to me (of relatives who are deceased, etc). They processed my pics and didn't appear to have lost any, and I got them all on a cd. Great. I wish I could give them more stars, but found the limited business hours to be a major drawback. They seemed to only be open about 12 hours a week (all during normal business hours, not on any weekends or evenings). Just to drop off and pick up my pictures ended up being a major hassle. Even times that they stated they were "open" seemed to change. I would have liked to purchase the VHS to DVD groupon but didn't because of this reason. read more

Forty-five minutes of early Dennis O'Leary. Another 45 minutes of 90s gay porn (from two separate tapes). And seven minutes of live shots from early in my reporting career off a partially degraded VHS tape. That's what I got for my $50 dollar GroupOn. I threw away everything but the live shots. (Okay, okay... maybe I'll consider keeping the porn...) I went to iPreservedIt with three boxes of videos in various formats hoping to have them dubbed over to DVDs or put on a flash drive. Some contain cringe-worthy, small-market work from early in my former career as a TV reporter; others are from later on and have stuff I'd actually like to use on a website. I organized all the tapes whose content I was fairly sure of, , regardless of format, in chronological order according to different jobs I'd worked, bound them with rubber bands, and put them in a box together. Another box held a smaller group of mostly VHS mystery tapes that I suspected were largely junk anyway. I got a call from Gor, the owner, saying the GroupOn ddn't really mean "four hours" of transfer; it mean four hours or four tapes, whichever came first. And no, they wouldn't let me see what was on the tapes before they went ahead and dubbed them. And by the way, they could do all my tapes for a $1000, even the ones on professional formats like 3/4", DVC Pro and Beta... though of course I'd pay extra, because they'd have to pay to get the machines out of storage and, like, maintaining the machines costs money. And stuff. So guess which box they pulled the tapes to dub. I called a few professional dubbing services that told me they'd charge $.50 a minute to digitize my tapes and that, yes, I could tell them what I wanted laid down. At that price, the videos I actually wanted to keep would have cost me $3.50. Some deal. I never could stand Dennis O'Leary, so I have no idea where that tape came from. And how did that porn get in there? No clue. I swear it wasn't mine. (No, seriously.) read more

I bought a Groupon and gave them a set of photos from a trip I took 16 years ago. I delivered them in order, so I would always know when/where they were taken (and could have the scans in the same order). When I got the photos back, I saw that not only where the photos in a completely random order (like someone dropped them on the floor and then shoved them back in the box), but the scanned photos were in just as random an order. When I called to ask about it, I was told they are not mind readers, and that I should have explicitly told them I wanted the photos scanned in order. (He also went off about Groupon, and how his company had to give sub-par customer service because otherwise they wouldn't make money.) I guess I was a fool for trusting them with my photos... if there is any other option for you, go there. Horrible customer service! read more

I think I should have listened to the bad reviews this place had on yelp before doing business with them. I don't really know how people have a positive experience with this place. I took some taps for conversation and told them I have not watched these taps for years nor have a VCR to play them so don't even know if they have anything left on them to be converted to DVD. Long story short after a whileeee they call me and say oh tapes are ready come pick up. I pick up and watch the DVD and there literally is nothing on them, 90% black screen with some scratchy parts with almost no sound. I call them and say you haven't even looked at the taps to see what you are converting and they say ok bring them back we are not going to give your money back but we will put them on a USB so you can have the files if you want to cut those few minutes which are normal. I take them back and this time after more than two months I see they are not calling so I call them and guess what they have not done anything. I say where is the usb they say you didn't pay for usb, what usb?! What film? They even say that oh we didn't even have a phone number from you to call, interestingly first time they had my number but now they just don't. Overall, these people have a really horrible service. Just find another place and don't waste your money, time and energy. read more

I got the photo scanning service and found the quality of scans to be absolutely awful. All of the photos had red green and yellow lines all over them... multiple pictures had unusual cropping on the corners... On top of all of this I was told that I would get my pictures beck in 2 weeks... I called after almost 3 weeks and was told that it hadn't even been started yet. No apology. Under normal circumstances I would have brought them back to have them redo them but I had such a bad experience with their service i have no interested in having them try again. read more

I emphatically do NOT recommend this place. I purchased a Groupon to convert vhs tapes to dvd, made an appointment to see them (45 minute trip each way, from Encino to obscure corner in Burbank), left 3 vhs tapes with them. A few weeks later I got a text saying they were ready, and we set up an appointment for me to come and get them. Another 45 minute trip; waited another 45 minutes there but no one showed up or responded to texts or calls. When I finally complained to Groupon, the head of the company contacted me. Didn't really apologize but said he wanted to make good on it; wanted me to come back out there to pick up the tapes. I asked that he mail them to me and he agreed. About 10 days later, I received the originals plus the dvd's back - but couldn't play them! I took them to a tech director at a school; he tried to play them but said they'd been "coded" incorrectly! I again emailed the head of the company; he said that this had never happened before but if I wanted to send them back to him, he'd try to find out what happened and if he found it was their mistake, he'd reimburse my postage. In the meantime Groupon refunded what I had paid for the service but here I was with no product and lots of aggravation. I packed up the defective cd's and sent them to him via Certified Mail. A month later I got called to the post office; the package was returned to me and they said the company had never picked it up! I again emailed the head of the company, asking to be reimbursed for my postage. I have received no response at all. Bottom line - don't do business with this company! They are unreliable, unprofessional, and, as far as I'm concerned, unethical! read more

I used a Groupon to convert 500 pictures to DVD (and I paid a little extra to also get them on USB, which is a great option), and it was completed in 1 day! The scans are high quality and the service was friendly. The only thing I regret is not specifying that the separately-rubberbanded bundles of pictures were meant to be somehow separated into different files or sections. Now I just have one file with 500 random pictures spanning a 15 year time period. Other than that I am pleased with the results. I would use them again. read more

This was the WORST business I have ever encountered. The owner was so rude, I couldn't believe it. They deserve zero stars. DON'T USE THEM. I dropped off my tape and never heard from them. BAD COMMUNICATION. I called them, only to be told owners were out of town for a week, and they hadn't received my tape. What?!?! I then proceeded to call them every day, speaking to a rude receptionist who argued with me and kept talking over me on the phone. I asked to speak to the manager, who gave me some lame excuse as to why a week had gone by and they hadn't even started working on it, she ALSO started arguing with me and when I said that was a horrible way to treat customers, she hung up on me!!! At this point, I just wanted my tape back and was going somewhere else! I drove over there to get my tape back and the manager's husband (owner) yelled at me, said I was a headache, and got in his car and left!!! I still did not have my tape back! They never called me back when asked, they promised I would get the tape back and never followed through, it was a miserable experience all around- don't go here!!!!! Two thumbs down!!! read more

It took six months from the time I dropped off audio and videotapes until I got them back --and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw they'd attached a "blank tape" sticker to the audio cassette of my late mother's voice. They hadn't erased it, thank God, but they also didn't get it transferred. I get the impression that this is someone's hobby, rather than a real business. They didn't return phone calls--I had to catch them during their brief business hours and hope someone actually picked up the phone rather than let it go to voicemail. For the first couple of months, they told me my order wasn't ready. By the time it was ready, my schedule made it difficult to get to their location, so they promised to mail it....which they never did. The people I dealt with were all perfectly pleasant and the DVDs and flash drives they created look good, hence the two stars, but I wouldn't use them again. read more
