One thing I will say is that I am a pretty hard critic of Jamaican cuisine, so you'll have to bare with me in my expectations. I've tried Irie in the past when they first opened up on 185th and even then, it was just kinda bland to me. It's almost like they play it safe with the seasonings or something, if that makes sense. The food is light and it obviously is good quality, it just doesn't hit the authentic Jamaican food target for me. As for this time, I ordered online. The location in Shaker, it was easy to find as I grew up on the street it's on the corner of. The young lady that greeted me was friendly and she explained that I could've walked right up and avoided the line when picking up. All was well, but when I get home (and this is partly my fault for not checking the bag before I left), my ginger ale was not in my order. I checked the receipt to make sure it came with the meal and then I attempted to contact the location to let them know they forgot my drink. There is no phone number listed on the receipt or the website so I chalked it. The flavor was still on the light/bland side to me, the cabbage portion was a joke, the rum cake and plantains were both good. Even though I wanted to possibly return for their jerk brisket, I'm cool, I can live without eating there again.

Curry Chicken, plantain's and cabbage, under it all is the rice and "peas".

I was in Cleveland recently and found myself wanting to try some new places (I'm not a local). So when I found iRiE I was thrilled. After having some authentic Jamaican recently while on vacation I have been intrigued to try more. The location was reasonably close to my hotel so I thought why not? The options were good, staff was friendly, and the prices are unbeatable! I had the Curry Chicken, rice and "peas", and cabbage and plantains. I must say I enjoyed every bit of it. To be honest I could have had seconds! I placed my order and was in and out in under 10 minutes. This is a great place to get Caribbean flair food and for the price it is outstanding! Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to try them again!

Very good food for the price and the service is superb. Great location for a more modern Jamaican cuisine. Keep up the great work!

Too pricey. There are other cheaper Jamaican restaurants around Cleveland. Do your research.

It's tucked away in a shopping center and inside there is a small table to sit at and dine in - but we took our food to go. My wife ordered the vegan Philly cheesesteak with sweet potato fries and I ordered the 5 wing combo with sauces fries. While the establishment didn't seem the nicest - we were warmly greeted by the owner and she was very kind in directing us to what food to try and have us some options from the menu. The food - the presentation and portions were definitely fairs. I sampled the fries from both before grabbing a photo - whoops. Sweet potato fries with powdered sugar and caramel sauce on the side was like having dessert first. The batter on the fries was crisp and full of flavor. Almost couldn't stop after one. The sauced fries were great as well - just prepare to get "sticky fingers." Now on to the entrees. The vegan Philly cheesesteak was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were well sautéed and flavor able while delivering a little heat to keep your destructive taste buds from devouring the sandwhich too quickly. The vegan meat itself was almost indistinguishable from real meat per my wife - and I would have to agree. The wings were crisped nicely and the sticky sauce was very delicious. It did not need a dip to go with - and it was eaten all the way down to the bone. We will definitely be back to try out some other delicious foods- both vegan and non vegan. You can't go wrong either way!

Then I got the sandwich, and I was like, actually, $17 is a more than fair price, LOL. For a second, I attempted to eat it with my hands, but its size made it an unwieldy experience. So I ate it with a knife and fork. And it was DELICIOUS. The sandwich came with a big piece of crispy fried chicken that the bun could barely contain. The chicken was fried fresh, so it was hot and juicy. In addition to being hot in temperature, it was hot spice-wise. It came with candied jalapeños, soy chili jam, pickles, and Sriracha. The spice was balanced well with some nice sweetness and a tasty kale slaw that added some brightness to the sandwich. Even the bun itself was delicious. The place is mainly a takeout spot, but there are a few tables if you want to dine in. The water is self-serve. There are cups and a sport cooler in front of the counter.

I pulled up the Chicken Ranch menu online and decided I would try them. It is a small establishment. Tables were clean. There is seating inside and two small tables outside for diners. The manager was explaining they make everything fresh and offered to answer any questions I had. I took a look at the specials then decided on a two piece crispy tenders meal. It came with a jalapeño corn muffin. It was 10 dollars and I chose a chocolate chip cookie with caramel and pecans in it because, why not. My chicken was delicious. I chose hot honey sauce because I was curious. It was so spicy and cleaned my sinuses right up. The sauce came on the side, thank goodness for that. The muffin was OK. It would have been better warmed. The cookie: sooooo good. Because I was being nice, I gave my kid a piece, but next time I will eat it in the car before I get home, like the pros do.

My wife had a quite fine Cabernet as I had one of the many beers on their list. Disappointingly, every one of the "Mendel's favorite" beers were out of stock, but I found one eventually! The Restaurant at lunch was not terribly busy, although we got there on the very early side. The service was outstanding and friendly. Parking was extremely easy to come by behind the building. The BBQ salad dish is really terrific and was more than sufficient as a lunch meal itself. The texture and taste of beans and barbecue and coleslaw and fried onions and pickles was a perfect blend. Really fine. The pico fries were so substantial that we ate some and took quite a few home. The taste was perfect. The ambience includes a funky blend of 1980s top 40 music and a big screen TV playing random international sports. Definitely will go back.
