Driving from Toronto we're looking for dinner near our hotel. We haven't had a barbeque in a while and when we saw city barbecue, we got excited. When we walked in it was very lively, we were greeted immediately and were given time to look through the menu. The client service is top-notch would cheer you up even if you were in a terrible mood. Definitely busy for Friday night. They're common room was full, but it was very clean. Everything was organized not a complaint to be seen. They are a Pepsi product facility, which would probably be my downfall so we took everything to go. We had the hand pulled pork, beef, pastrami, and beef brisket. We got the sampler platter so we got fries and mac & cheese meats and the cuts were delicious. Gotta love a nice toasted Texas bread, fries were on point! I do feel that the mac & cheese need a little more flavour and texture. The banana pudding was my favourite hands-down

    12 wings.

Never Again! Rib Bone Tuesday. The ribs were just ok. I'm writing this review because of the wings I purchased. I paid $16.99 for 12 wings. I've never had their wings before and my son wanted to try them. He asked for the 6 pack but I decided to get more. Dude would have still been hungry. They are tiny and definitely not worth the money. It's been a few years since I have visited City BBQ and I won't go back.

    Raw beef brisket

If I could do no stars I would. I ordered through door dash and the brisket was raw. Literally raw. This is the 3rd and last time. I am calling health department. I called an no apology. Door dash refunded right away

    Snail in unwashed collard greens
    Sarah I.

No... no... no I almost fed a snail to my family. They do not wash their greens. Fo you know what kind of pathogens are on snails!!!?? I can't even believe I came across this today. On top of the... pre snail, this was the worst City BBQ we've ever had. The hush puppies were weirdly shaped and different sized splatters. The beans tasted old, our Mac and cheese was horrible (half full and just a giant hunk of cheese at the bottom), the brisket was all fat. Im blown away, the other City BBQs have never had this poor of standards. My husband said the parking lot is always empty at this location and now I see why. I am so sick thinking about what I found... and the liquid in the collard greens was putrid color. So gross. Especially with covid, their cleanly ness standard are well below par.

This time, I brought my family along for lunch, and it did not disappoint! We took advantage of their happy hour specials, which included half-off pizzas, select appetizers, and drinks. We started with the Street Corn Nachos and added grilled chicken. They were absolutely incredible--easily some of the best nachos we've ever had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was delicious. We also ordered the whipped feta, which was simply divine and a must-try. For our entrées, one person ordered the pepperoni pizza and really enjoyed it. I had the sausage pasta, which was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light while still being incredibly satisfying. The third entrée was the Thai noodles , and it was another hit. Everyone commented on how fresh and well-prepared their meal was. The service, as always, was impeccable. We were greeted immediately and seated right away. What really stands out about this restaurant is the teamwork. Everyone pitches in, whether it's bringing out food, clearing plates, or noticing your water glass is getting low. It doesn't matter if they're your server or not--they make sure you're taken care of, and that level of hospitality really makes a difference. The restaurant is also spotless, and I love that the open kitchen allows you to watch the team preparing the food. It adds to the overall experience and shows how much care goes into every dish. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or happy hour, this place consistently delivers. Great food, outstanding service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a beautiful space make this one of my favorite restaurants in the Cleveland area. If you're visiting the Pinecrest area, do yourself a favor and make this a stop--you won't regret it!

Since we were hungry, we followed another yelper's advice of getting an appetizer since we were warned the mains can take 30-40 minutes. Ordered the cracklin wings--got the ghost pepper dry rub which was recommended by the staff who also reassured me that it wasn't too spicy given that it was also sweet and came with ranch. Tasted great, super crispy on the outside, chicken not the most juicy but still tender. 4/5. Also ordered the truffle orcchiette, pork chop, and heirloom carrots. The truffle orcchiette had a great al dente texture but surprisingly compared to the other yelper reviews, was saltier than expected. 4/5 Favorites were definitely the pork chop and heirloom carrots. The pork chop came without the bone, already chopped up, and was the he most tender pork chop I've had. 5/5 The carrots were so well seasoned, with a great charred taste and came with an addicting puree. 5/5 Service was fantastic, with great recommendations. While the birthday guest was away from the table, I did sneakily ask if they do anything for birthdays, and the staff said that they do a scoop of ice cream. Since the sticky toffee pudding already came with a scoop of ice cream, they were considerate to do 2 cookies instead--the cookies weren't too sweet and reminded me of brownie batter. Sticky toffee pudding was good. 4/5 Restaurant is located in Pinecrest so parking available as free parking in a garage about a block away or as pay by mobile street parking. Ambience is great, perfect for a nice meal for a date or hangout. Overall a great place to celebrate a special occasion due to all the good food choices and staff who know how to treat birthday guests well.

I told him I would arrive within 40 mins and he said to just walk-in. The website says this is fine dining so for someone to answer the phone and discourage reservations was skeptical. When we arrived we were told since we didn't have reservations we had to sit outdoors. Now the forecast said rain in 10mins. So we told the lady at the desk that I spoke to the man that also at the door about reservations. She said no problem we waited about 10 minutes and we were seated. Our waitress Abby was amazing! I wanted a wellness drink and they were all out but she suggested other mocktail options. She then asked if we wanted tap water or sparkling bottle water. I was confused that they don't have filtered water. We got the tap and it smelled like sewer. We then asked for a bottle of sparkling water. And realized the glass cups smelled bad. If you want a wellness drink arrive early when they open around 11am. It was 1pm when I ordered my food. I ordered the Farmer's breakfast, it came with Two eggs any style, choice of crispy bacon or chicken sausage, grilled sourdough, potatoes. The potatoes were crumbs and left overs, a scoop of potatoes. For a $19 meal I couldn't believe what I was being served. The chicken sausage was amazing! The sourdough bread was grilled with no oil or butter. I asked for jelly thinking they would have compote. Instead they have mini jars of jelly. The main difference is that jam is a shelf-stable, fruit-puree preserve made with high amounts of sugar and added pectin. Compote is a chunkier, less sugary fruit sauce cooked quickly without pectin and meant to be eaten fresh. My husband had the Last Chicken Sandwich, which he said was good but the sandwich didn't come with a side just a $18 chicken sandwich that tasted wonderful.

The burger was solid and enjoyable, but the salad was disappointing. Fattoush salads are typically packed with fresh ingredients and bold flavors, but this version was mostly romaine lettuce and lacked the vibrant flavor profile we expected. It wasn't our first choice, but it ended up being a decent find--especially if you're in the mood for creative tacos. We arrived well after the lunch rush and there were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant, so it was fairly quiet. We ordered chips and salsa to start, but unfortunately they never made it to the table. When our food arrived and I asked about them, our waitress admitted she had forgotten to write it down. The food also seemed to take a bit longer than expected considering the restaurant wasn't busy. Because of that, the service was a little underwhelming. That said, the tacos themselves were the highlight of the visit. I ordered three of the smaller tacos, but they packed a lot of flavor. My picks were The Yoda, The Love Shack, and The Filthy Fajita--all creative and really well done. Small in size, but definitely big on flavor.
